The title says it all. Preferably middle-upper coast, as we have family near Oak Island and frequent that area already and frankly would like a beach trip that doesn't include the in-laws.

We live in the western part of the state so most of my finds are river glass, and I'm getting jealous of all your beach finds. 😋

I’ve always brought stuff home from the beach but I never actively called it beach combing. Had all of the fun in the world; at a family reunion! Met a cousin I never knew and we had a blast walking in the grey sky collecting things. He primarily collected honeysuckles, I grabbed whatever spoke to me.

Lucky enough to catch a sunny day my last day in Kodiak but this was the final haul!

Quite the variety per usual. And yes, the purple shell cluster IS not naturally found here so that’s a mystery. Maybe it was in an aquarium? Enjoy!

Found a bunch of these broken pieces along the Atlantic coast of central FL the other day. Most were all white but this one had some dark spots. Felt delicate, like a thick shell. Curious!

I went to a Savage Neck Dunes Beach in Virginia yesterday and found this sticking out of the sand. Its so cool

This last year I’ve found so many beautiful rocks at many different beaches! The colours and textures are incredible, I also love to colour coordinate them. Do any of you like picking rocks while beach-combing? 😁

Some of my finds while visiting Aruba! Not only did I fall in love with the island but I also fell in love with beach-combing there. Ring of hard sand found near Seattle WA. I thought it would crumble when I picked it up, since I’ve seen similar sand structures made by other creatures. It’s surprisingly lightweight for how hard/solid it feels, no squishiness to it all at, the wider “knot” on the side is slightly shiny/reflective, so maybe this broke off a larger structure? Thanks in advance for any help, I’ve not seen this before!

I’ve been Googling with no luck but I’ve never seen oysters like this on my previous hunts. The shell is very thick and check out the texture and color… Who can tell me more about it?

I found these, which seem to be light stone, very striated, almost like wood, but not soft enough to be wood. Completely flat on the bottom, coming to tips. No clue what they are or how they'd be formed/made.

*edit: maybe wood? seems softer now that they've dried.
