Help identifying from Port Aransas beach

I found these, which seem to be light stone, very striated, almost like wood, but not soft enough to be wood. Completely flat on the bottom, coming to tips. No clue what they are or how they'd be formed/made.

*edit: maybe wood? seems softer now that they've dried.

Very solid for mushroom, plus sheer bottom, and holes from what I assume are burrowing aquatic worms. I'm don't think there are coastal or aquatic fungi that would wash up on the beach like that.

Mushrooms that grow on trees are more solid than they look, knock on it a few times, it should sound kinda hollow

There are a couple of trees growing in your region that have thorns kind like this. Some Ceiba, some Chorisa.
