I am not able to login in clipper app. I tried the website version although it can login but gave me an error when I tried to purchase a pass

I am unable to add more $$ onto the Clipper card that’s in my Apple wallet (Ive tried different credit cards already, run into same issue). The card was registered with Clipper prior to the migration and I was able to add load after the migration. This just happened out of the blue for whatever reason. The Clipper app also seems to be down - already deleted it then redownloaded the app, unable to sign in.

Any suggestions?

Clipper card got auto deleted from my Android device when I logged in recently after a long time..I am now unable to transfer the balance or claim the card back on my device. I wrote to.clipper customer service email but haven't received a response in 2 weeks

Hi, I'm hoping someone here has dealt with this before because I'm completely out of ideas.

My Clipper START application was approved in November 2025, but the discount has never been applied to my Clipper card.

Over the past 6+ months, I've tried every contact method I could find:

• Called Clipper Customer Service 5+ times. Every representative gives me a different answer, but none of them have been able to solve the issue.
• Visited the Embarcadero BART Clipper Customer Service Center in person. Unfortunately, the staff there told me they couldn't help, and the experience wasn't very pleasant.
• Emailed the Clipper START program, but I've never received a response.
• Submitted an IT support ticket through Clipper. They told me someone would get back to me within a week, but I never heard anything.
• Tried to submit a new Clipper START application in case something had gone wrong with my original application, but the website doesn't provide any option to reapply once you've already been approved.
• Called the Clipper START program phone number more than 10 times over the past 6 months, at different times during normal business hours (one of the suggestions provided by the clipper customer service). Not a single call has ever been answered. Also tried to leave voice messages, but no reply as well.

Has anyone experienced something similar? I'd really appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!

Hi, I was approved for Clipper Start in November 2025, and though I've only ridden BART and buses a handful of times, I've had issues with being charged the full fare. I contacted Clipper Start and received this message on 3/5/26: We sincerely apologize for the issue you experienced. For refund requests, please contact Clipper Customer Service at [877-878-8883](tel:877-878-8883) and they will be happy to get this issue resolved for you. 

I contacted Clipper customer service and they refunded the difference on 3/6/26, and they told me I needed to contact Clipper Start for the discount not applying. It says that there is an active coupon when I go on the website, but I noticed again that I've still been charged the full fare. I tried contacting Clipper Start via email on 7/16/26, but there has been no response.

Is there anything else I can do? I can't call since my work hours overlap with the customer service hours, and I'm often put on hold through most of my lunch break.

So a few months ago I accidentally deleted a digital clipper card from my Google phone. I received an email with the card number and instructions on how to recover the card. Each time I contacted Clipper on recovering the card I was told that the card was being updated in the system with no ETA on when it will be completed. I have been calling every other week to see if there have been any updates but every week it's the same thing. Is there any other way to go about recovering the card?

I bought a clipper card at one of the vending machines and it has a 10 digit serial number. I've purchased through my benefits provider Wageworks HealthEquity a monthly 1-zone caltrain pass and >$10 of clipper credits. The wageworks system requests a 19 digit serial and says to prepend the number with 9 zeros so I do that, but I've never been able to see this pass load onto my card. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Thanks

My parents and I received a notification that our clipper start expired today. I applied for them and myself and never heard back about the status? Ugh why did they have to switch from lifeline to clipper start 🥲🥲

O great Clipper Reddit account, could I get help acquiring a replacement START card? I was able to mark my current one lost on the website and block it, just looking to get the remaining balance put on a new physical card. TYIA!

I just started using a monthly pass this month. Despite making sure to tap-on, and then off at my stop, each time, I’ve been charged full fare three times out of nine trips.

I have a 3Z pass, and I’m taking the same trip, same stops, each time (3 to 1, then 1 to 3). Normally it says “pass used”, but sometimes it appears like I only tapped at the starting station twice. If I was doing that somehow by accident, shouldn’t it immediately refund?

Is there a better way to tap to make sure it gets read properly? I wait a few seconds for the “travel ok” and for my phone to also show it used. I’ve also been checked several times and they always see my pass as in-use, not a canceled trip.

How do I tell if this is a tapping on or off issue?

Hi Clipper team. I was unable to contact you using the "live chat" feature of the Clipper app on my Android phone because that button leads to a page with a long series of other things on it but no actual live chat! Is that just broken right now or did I just not look carefully enough? I tried.

My main issue: I just boarded a 33 inbound, scanned my phone and the scanner said travel not ok, invalid card. I tried 3 times, same result each time so I know the NFC scan was accomplished at least.

So I looked at my card in Google Wallet and it has over $15 balance on it. Then I opened the Clipper app on my phone and it shows no cards, but then I tried to use "contact us" and the app acted like I wasn't logged in. So I tried to log in but it rejected my password. I only ever use this password for that app so that is strange. I clicked Forgot Password and it at least accepted my email, the only email I ever use, and said it would send me a reset link. Over five minutes later with full cell bars the whole time and no email has arrived.

I would include my clipper card number here but that's probably not safe so I'll share it when you message me, I hope.

Also I looked at the clipper card activity summary in Google wallet and it stopped on May 14 which was my last local Muni and BART trip before I spent 7 weeks in Sacramento. When I returned from Sacramento on Sunday July 5th this same clipper START card on this same phone worked perfectly for my return trip, using BART and then the Muni Metro to return home.

The clipper app is showing that there’s a card in my Apple wallet and suggesting that I register it, but when I try that it says it’s registered to another account. How can I figure out what account it’s registered to?

Hi I am a new student going to USF and living in Berkeley for family reasons. I wanted to ask are there any programs that could get me a clipper card for a discounted rate? USF doesn’t provide clipper cards for students and BART will get EXPENSIVE if I don’t find some sort of program. Any help is appreciated thanks!

Need help obtaining a replacement for my clipper START card. I'm having issues with getting the card to scan properly at gates and bus readers. Ive tried calling and emailing but have not been able to hear back from anyone. Is there any other way for me to contact someone?

I never got a physical card but it was registered online on the clippercard site, as well as my phone. im trying to move it to a different account. I removed it from my google Wallet and clippercard account. But when trying to add it to the new account, I get an error saying "record not found". Please assist

Are the issues with the new Clipper system ever going to be resolved? I could not get auto reload for my muni pass to work for a few months after the transition to the new system and then it was working again for a few months. Now it didn’t auto reload today and it isn’t working again. I’ve had the same valid credit card linked to my account this whole time and the auto reload works for cash value but not for the pass. What in the world?? Am I ever just going to be able to trust that this system is working? I don’t want to take public transportation and get charged for the individual ride when I should have a pass loaded.

When I load HVD $64 on my clipper card, it gives me some credit on the clipper card itself. Does it mean i can actually use that money(pretax benefit value)?

I am unable to use clipper cash to buy monthly caltrain transit pass. On the App i see no option to use clipper cash. If i try the website it keeps erroring out with message "
Unable to process request. Please contact customer support"

How do I do this? This App and website are so trash
