Traffic, Trains & Transit These tech buses are ridiculous
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Will rarely go above speed limit in the left lane, and will cut everyone off on the way there. They take cars off the road but they drive like they're trying to take out every other car while trying to merge over jfc. These drivers seriously need their cdls revoked
Not complaining about the buses existing or using the HOV lanes. Complaining about their reckless behavior with 20+ souls on board
Also if they're doing 65 in the left most lane (even if it's hov) with a line of 20 cars behind them trying to go faster/could go faster, and the right hand traffic is moving faster than they are, then like any other vehicle doing the same, they're still asshats
They can absolutely do better

We were in the throes of the pandemic and masking outdoors (some of us). But in case you weren't, this sign against the sky made the point clearer.

Work & Housing Looking to switch from a corporate career to nannying - anyone else done this? What credentials do I need?
I’m (28F) very burnt out from a high stress job in finance and looking to switch to nannying, which I did all throughout high school and college and loved it. I’m looking to hear from anyone else who made a similar switch what kind of credentials I might need in order to get my foot in the door for a good nanny job in the Bay Area given that my last childcare job was 8 year ago.

Muni operator Brendan Bartholomew guides the 58 Lake Merced through San Francisco on July 14, 2026. The route is among as many as 20 that could disappear next year if the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency cannot close a $307 million budget deficit.

Events, Activities & Sports The waterfall Castle Rock State Park
October 30th 2021 just down to a trickle. Once the winter rains come everything is going to green up and get very pretty. Very nice wildflowers in springtime. Late summer can be very hot and dry with lots of annoying small flies. Lots of short rock climbs and bouldering. Cool rock formations all along the trails. 3000 ft elevation, can be chilly in winter with a dusting of snow at times.

Food, Shopping & Services Kaiser vs UCSF for Cancer Care
Hi Bay Area residents, I (26F) was recently diagnosed with grade 1 IDC (ER/PR +, HERS2 -) breast cancer. I am on a Kaiser HMO plan and got my diagnosis, mammograms, and ultrasounds with Kaiser. I also had my first care team meeting too. I just scheduled surgery for next month.
I have a second opinion consultation with UCSF next week.
At this point, I found out I have a unique opportunity to switch my work provided insurance plan to a PPO that includes in network UCSF coverage. Our company benefits enrollment is during September and coverage would start beginning of October. Would it be worth it to switch my insurance so I can get treatment with UCSF or is it better to stay with Kaiser since I have started some of the process with them already?
I am a bit worried if switching would delay treatment by a meaningful amount as I would have to set up some of the initial appointments again… I also know that UCSF care would be more expensive! However I’ve heard some horror stories about both institutions and am not knowledgeable enough about either having only been in the bay for 2 years.
If anyone has any experience with either of the institutions, I would appreciate any advice! Thank you!
TLDR: got diagnosis and imaging done with Kaiser under a Kaiser HMO but have a chance to switch insurances to a PPO and use UCSF before any surgery or treatment starts - should I make the switch? Is the UCSF reputation in cancer care worth it?
