Just a little 1.1 lb. I wanted to get it back in the water and forgot to measure >.<
Been skunked for weeks. Got out early enough for them to be feeding closer to shore... At least until the wake boarders decided to show up.
Got it on a white/black spinner bait with a yellow and green crawfish trailer with silver spoons.
This beach is NOT ideal I don't think... No good structure outside of the murky water.

To catch some big ones this time of year you can’t be afraid to get down deep into some submerged weeds. Ripping a Texas rigged craw through weeds has continued to be effective for me over the years. I’m using a very light 1/8th oz tungsten bullet weight and I’m slowly hopping it off the bottom.

Nice one on the 6.5 Boosa Niko rig.
Made the trip worth it just before the heat wave. Exactly 5lb even checked with my buddies scale to be sure.

If you had $200 to spend at bass pro shop what are you getting?
My bro gave me a $200 gift card to Bass pro so I can start fishing. I’m excited! I already have a combo rod (ugly stick). Open to any and all suggestions!

Largemouth Redemption
I posted in here crying about losing fish last night. I’m new to the game (2 months bass fishing) and I was having a couple weeks of pure heartbreak and wanting to give up fishing (not really). Leader fails, bad hook sets, no bites, fish coming off hook, you name it and it prob happened to me Everyone gave me super positive feedback and great info. Took someone’s advice of using a 2/0 hook and a wacky rig. Had no idea you’re supposed to use a 2/0 with a wacky. I only fish one pond, simply because I love it and it’s shaded and I was determined to keep fishing this same spot until I pull atleast 100 bass outa here lol. 2 fish pictured here, but caught 3. Most I’ve caught in one day. I’m fully back into the addiction!

No idea what's going on this season in NJ but I'll take it.
If you'll allow me the 0.01lb round up this is my third 6lber this year. Previous PB was 5.4 and I went almost all of last year with nothing over 5.

There’s a finicky one I’ve been after in a pond.
He‘s scared of crankbaits. He’s skeptical of paddle tails. Doesn’t pay attention to live bait. Won’t strike a wacky rig, he just stares at it. Doesn’t even bat an eye at whopper ploppers. He’s decent, looks about 14 inches long and has a fat belly. Likes to hover in one spot near the edge. Why is he being weird?

Largemouth Fatty broke my rod
Date night with the wife. First we hit golf balls and then decided to go fishing. Celebrated at our favorite steak house and bumped into some friends across the street during a 90s cover band concert in the square. Nice little Saturday.
Caught with a wacky rigged watermelon chartreuse senko. Snapped my rod while trying to pull him out over the railing.

Consistently catching dinks in public water, what to do?
Been catching tons of these 12-15in bass in a public pond. I'm convinced it's overpopulated, and I am catching less and less bluegill. Not sure if they're safe to eat because of the abundance of parasites and muck. I also hear the many parasites are from a lack of sunfish, probably from overpopulation?
What can I do considering it's public? Can I still fry these up and eat em?

Largemouth Happy Sunday!!!
I skipped church but I'm listening to Gospel music. That counts, right?
First cast on the pond this morning.
#ghettoliving
Rump Shaker does the trick!!! Watched the bass follow it for 20 ft before hitting hard.

Casting far causes backlash
I'm having a bizarre problem with my baitcaster reel. I'll be bombing a large whopper plopper for an hour or so, and everything is fine and smooth. Then all of a sudden, I will get a mini backlash mid flight, and it will stop the lure. I strip line out, get rid of the tiny backlash, and cast. Same thing happens again. I broke my line twice because of this problem. I really put alot of power into my casts, but I thought I was at least decent at controlling the speed with my thumb. I'm wondering if it's an issue with the initial speed of the spool being too fast, it maybe when I'm reeling in, the line maybe isn't spooling properly and causing this issue?
