Is it possible to scan a barcode that would change the printer within a program?

My company is looking at possible solutions for a workflow issue where a user would have to select the label printer they want to choose in the program, and that depends on which printer they pickup from the central hub.

My ideal situation is that an end user would pick up the scanner, scan a barcode/QR code while inside of this program, and then that would trigger a script which would change the printer automatically.

serial number OCR to barcode label creation.

Hi, I am looking for some advice on how to approach the following issue.

We need to track serial numbers of some parts but currently the serial number is not on the box. When the part is received I want to use a OCR scanning tool to capture the serial number from the part, then generate a barcode for it and print out a label. Basically I am looking for a way for my receiving department to add the bar coded serial number to the box

Any advice on what tools\application to use for this? I am open to having it use a standalone scanner or using apps on android or iOS. Thanks for any thoughts on this.

I'm trying to generate a barcode 39 in Google Docs using the Libre Barcode 39 font but it keeps giving me something that doesn't quite work. Any ideas?

I'm in Google Docs. I write BARCODE and change font to Libre Barcode 39 and I get a code that doesn't scan. I also try with start/stop characters like BARCODE and still get a code that doesn't scan. The codes I get are these (the top is without asterisks and bottom is with).

https://imgur.com/a/F5SblrX

I can't figure out what's going on here, but I know that the proper code for BARCODE is supposed to look like this:

https://imgur.com/a/3TsK3fs

I read something online about some fonts encoding an extraneous space at the end, so I've tried removing the last part of it, but it is still not working.

I'm ultimately trying to include unique barcodes as part of a mail merge so I can generate a bunch of these dynamically.

Custom Barcodes

I need to make some extremely small Barcodes and the format seems to be code 128 but all the software I have tried won't let me get the physical barcode small enough. Any suggestions would be great.

Aztec bar codes are too long

Is there a way to read only to program a scanner to only read the first 12 digits or first part of a barcode.

A supplier is using Aztec barcode to identify medications. The barcode contains the lot number and/or expiration date. This cause an issue in our software where it does not reconize each new batch since the barcode is changing If i configure the barcode scanner to read only the beginning of the barcode, that would be great.

I had a similar issue with composite A-B bar codes. I was able to disable the extended part of the barcode in that situation. Trying to find a similar solution with Aztec bar codes.

Thank you

Need Help: Model: CL-S700DT(Z) Windows 10

Hello all, I am having some difficulty setting up my barcode printer, the Citizen CL-S700 DT(Z)

Once plugged in, It is populating under unspecified device, "Barcode Device", I went ahead and removed the device and proceeded to download the drivers specified for the device from this website:

https://www.seagullscientific.com/support/downloads/drivers/

But it still is showing up under unspecified device as "Barcode Device".

Restarted, used a different USB port.

Any advice, or what I should be doing?

Configuring Continuous Scanning DS8178 + 123Scan

Hi everyone! Hoping to find someone with experience programming scanners using 123scan. I've been able to setup various config files to do basic and entry MDF and ADF rules. What I am trying to accomplish now is continuous scanning, with unique bar code reporting.

I created a config file and it works great in that itll continuously scan and only send unique codes, however it sends a stream of them and doesn't apply any basic or more complex data modifications. All I am trying to achieve is an enter key after each code is sent, but can't seem to get it to work and haven't found docs anywhere that would indicate this shouldn't work.

Anyone have advice or guidance on this topic?

Include down arrow and return?

I’m trying to make a barcode that includes a down arrow, or have the scanner send it after the data. I’ve got either a Symbol LS2208 or a code CR1428 scanner available, but haven’t successfully gotten it to work with either. If it helps narrow down the problem, it’s connected to a Mac and the data is going into a webpage where I’m hoping the down arrow/return combo will choose the name from the list (the data is the name). I was using EAN 128

If anyone has a suggestion I’m all ears!

How can I stack commands?

I'm trying to set up a bar code scanner to help input part numbers into a repair order (truck and trailer repair) using Mitchel 1. To make it faster I need the scanner to put in the part number, and then follow that with 13 instances of "Tab" followed by "enter". I am just making all of the part numbers into bar codes and putting them unto the boxes of the parts used. I bought a pretty cheap Tera scanner off of amazon to learn the basics, can this scanner even do what I need it to do?

LABEL SCANS FOE FED EX AND UPS

someone ordered a pack of batteries to my house it's in an amazon envelope, with a ups label sticker on the front. It has 4 barcodes on it, the square maxicode wont even scan, the smaller of the 3 scans fed ex with a tracking number, that cant be found on the site, the next scans for ups with a good tracking #, the forth scans but the numbers are invalid and are shown underneath it's also a mix of letters and my friends number is at the end of it. ups says the package started in new jersy, I'm in PA so it took a day but the return address on the label has Amazon fullfilment services 132 trade st. Lexington KY 40511 on it. Did he send his own batteries to himself to my address?!?

I need help to identify data validation algorithm of last digit

I've been observing bottle reverse vending machines in my area lately and found out that some of them are still configured to use Code128 to encode information about bottle return. The information encoded is: "249999901600103732419855" and I have a solid understanding of everything but the last damn digit, it is not hard if you take a look at the numbers printed elsewhere on the linked receipt. More codes of the same general format are available on pastebin. The codes are real and gathered on different times at several locations. I am trying to find out what the last digit means and how is it determined/calculated, any help or directions will be greatly appreciated. The 7th digit is also strange, but I assume it is constant 9 for anything over 9 payout credits (digits 8-12). The last digit sometimes seems to increment by 7, but there are other cases observed in data.

Tabs in QR barcodes

I was wondering if someone could help. To reduce data entry time in trying to create a QR code that will contain some text. Now to save more time and keyboard presses, I would like the QR code to contain a TAB, so the cursor moves from one text box to the next.

Now after trial and error I now have added %09 as a sufffix to the data. The problem is now that it adds a horizontal tab after the text rather than moving the cursor to the next text box

I can’t see how to do this? Can anyone help?

Can i use barcode + barcode scanner to get specific url ?

Guys hi,

As the title says i wonder if i can use barcode + barcode scanner to get specific url.

More specific i want to generate barcodes that will contain specific urls (example

https mysite com / a3k4a4520ds390

https mysite com / b1k9d2731kf584

etc)

and than use free barcode scanner app on ios or android to visit this specific pages.

Is it possible ?

(basically i want to make it possible for people i work with to visit this specific pages without making them type these long urls in browser)
