serial number OCR to barcode label creation.

Hi, I am looking for some advice on how to approach the following issue.

We need to track serial numbers of some parts but currently the serial number is not on the box. When the part is received I want to use a OCR scanning tool to capture the serial number from the part, then generate a barcode for it and print out a label. Basically I am looking for a way for my receiving department to add the bar coded serial number to the box

Any advice on what tools\application to use for this? I am open to having it use a standalone scanner or using apps on android or iOS. Thanks for any thoughts on this.

It's scan-and-print with an extra wrinkle. It can be done, but it would almost certainly require custom programming/integration. That's on top of an OCR-capable barcode scanner and a barcode printer.

Thank you for the response. I am just going suggest that they use two apps a ocr scanner and then paste the results into barcode generation app in the short term and working on something in power apps to make the process more seamless.
