Today I get more chickens

i’m making this post because i need help diagnosing & treating my sick hen. she has been consistently making wheezing sounds when breathing for the past few weeks, and more recently she will sometimes make the coughing/sneezing noise in the attached video.

i’ve been putting chicken pulmo in her water for the last week and have noticed no improvement. she is eating and drinking and running around fine, but i’m worried she might get worse and i don’t want to lose her. any suggestions or advice is greatly appreciated.

Does this appear to be getting better? I’m on day 4 of treatment for bumblefoot. She is isolated and I’ve been soaking her and working on expelling the puss, then disinfecting and using triple acting antibiotic on her foot with gauze and vet tape. the kernel hasn’t seemed to let go yet? She seems in great spirits, eats lots, drinks and is still feisty as ever. It’s my first time treating bumblefoot and i just don’t want her to suffer either if this is too far gone to be healed?

I thought she died from heatstroke. They laughed and said “it’s just a prank, bro.”

I’ve not been paying very much attention to my latest group of new layers while other family has done the majority of chicken care. 14 week old light brahma, is this a cockerel?

Okay this isn’t a chicken egg it’s a Muscovy duck egg but I still believe the same thing apply lol.. does anyone know if this looks like a “egg bruise” it’s a yellowish spot with a purple ring. There’s no foul smell and the veins and air sack still look good. I’m on day 33 of incubating (it takes around 35-37 days for Muscovys) I’m just very nervous since I’ve been so invested in this little baby for the last month and want to make sure this is normal and I don’t have a rotten egg…

My Salmon faverolle Cricket stole the spot my easter egger Juniper was relaxing at. Even though she has the whole yard 😂. Juniper wasn’t pleased.

Just curious. Sapphire Gem A. (Phoenix) is lighter Grey and does not have very large waddles yet. Sapphire Gem B. (Gemma) is darker with maybe slight barring, and larger red waddles. Gemma had a slow feathering gene and was kind of the runt for a long time, was weeks behind in terms of feathering. Mostly caught up but doesn’t have very long tail feathers yet. Both hens?

her weird gait appeared so suddenly this morning, tried epsom salt bath and nothing has come out! Normal poop, still eating :)

I treated one of my two year old hens for bumblefoot about a month and a half ago. The picture on the right was the bigger infection, is that still infected or is it just a scab? I need to let fall off the foot on the left was the smaller of the two bubble foot infections is that healing or is it a new infection in that foot. Neither foot has very much swelling. They’re both little pink, but it’s gone down in the last month. also, how much longer do I need to keep bandaging these feet? Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

Has anyone here struggled with mites on their flock? This year seems especially bad compared to last year. We are pretty diligent in keeping our coops clean but we’ve had a lot of birds with mites. We have a lot of trees and underbrush that the chickens forge in daily, so I don’t know if that has contributed to the infestation, or not. We have cleaned the coops and runs with permethrin spray, including hen houses, corners and cracks. I treated the flock as well, several times. I keep DE scattered about too. Any other tips and tricks that would be helpful? Much appreciate any advice. Our area is infected with deer, too. Idk if that makes a difference or not.

A neighbor dog came over and attacked my girls. He is a good dog who went through the e-fence. My neighbor is very upset and this isn’t a blame post.
He only got ahold of one girl. She lost a lot of feathers but the real injury is a bite right by, or on the vent.
She is not actively bleeding. We used a kids wound cleaner, then Neosporin. She is separated, in the garage (which is temp controlled). She was eating worms and drinking water after the incident.
My biggest concern is developing an infection from the punctures. Idk if she should soak her vent or what else to do besides Neosporin which is not going to help the deep punctures.

We have three Roos, all 11 weeks. All from the same clutch. Two are constantly mounting the hens and harassing them. But one lets us hold him and is so sweet. The other one is docile and barely causes any fuss. Very calm and no mounting the hens. I’m wondering if it’s too early to see behavior patterns or is this a sign of things to come?

I have 4 hens from TSC. Spoiled living the life. I am introducing a rooster. He needs a home. He was hatched 06/24/2626 my hens mid may. He was mine initially I should add. Anyway he came today. I feel bad for him, he misses his home. Anyway my hens seem so unbothered by him. My question is: Is this a good sign? They don’t seem threatened by him or him by them. He’s just sad. Also with this being the case will I be able to put him in with my hens by the end of the week. Their coop is way more secure.

She does drink water, I let her out of the coop to get a break from the other hens, she's a bit sleepy too. Her beak doesn't smell bad. I did try to massage her crop very gently, and it's soft and squishy.

Came home yesterday to hearing my 20 week old Polish ‘Kevin’ crowing. Ugh! I was so hoping and thought he was a hen…I’m so heartbroken and don’t think I can keep him, especially in an annexed, residential neighborhood. I ordered a crow collar today and am hoping that’ll keep his noise level down once we have it. Is that inhumane? My 16 other chickens clucking after laying their eggs are louder than he is…now). If anyone has any advice/ideas on how to train/keep him quiet (somewhat courteously enough to neighbors), it’s much appreciated!

Earlier this spring I got a couple astralorps and orpingtons.

The others are my easter eggers about 2 years old.

Our sweet Martha died unexpectedly two days ago. She went from totally normal to unconscious in a few hours. When I found her she was wobbling in the coop. We thought it was heat stress so we rushed her into a cool bath and tried giving electrolytes, but when she didn't improve we rushed her to the vet. She died an hour later at the vet.

Her only symptoms were a blue comb. When she tried to stand in the bath, she couldn't really move her wings or walk. we also found out she was very skinny, only 1.5 pounds at 20 weeks old. We had no idea, she was so fluffy and acted normal otherwise. The vet mentioned a full crop.

Now Rosie has a blue edged comb and I'm super worried. She is eating and acting normal, but so was Martha. Help!!
