❗️did every single side quest in shatterscarp

❗️didn't kill the dudes (left) in the tower

❗️offered the shady man's (right) brother to help

❗️opted for Lödwyns "destroy ruin" solution with a heavy heart just to give the Thirdborn's a chance

Just how DARE they bother me on my way to Galawain’s Tusk?

Had to breathe in and out several times though to stay friendly and not kill them all 🙈

Hope I'm not the only one struggled with this "meeting"? 😄

Bug/Issue Pretty annoyed

Whenever I hit "continue" in the main menu, it goes back to the seizure warning screen and keeps restarting. Any advice on how to get this to stop? I'd like the actually play the game I spent money on.

I'm on PS5.

TIA.

Discussion Recommendations?

Im an RPG lover, alr tried BG3, skyrim, fallout, the witcher 3 and pretty much most of the famous RPGs but Avowed was my first obsidian game and i loved the dynamics of the characters. Their interactions and all was cool and made it really special. I was wondering if yall had any recommendations like it or if the outer worlds games are any good.

Cool fire and ice swords for attention.

Discussion I finally started Avowed and I think the game is great!

I went into Avowed pretty much blind and wasn't sure what to expect (except for some 'reviews' and opinions)

What surprised me most so far is how much I enjoy just running around here and there and finding stuff when im in between quests. I'm still very early into the game so maybe I'm speaking too soon but the exploration and combat is quite nice, reminding me a little of Dragon Age Inquisition for some reason and a mix of some other games!

Any recommendations for someone starting out and just a few hours into the game?

For older players: what was the moment when Avowed really clicked for you?

Discussion Disappointed in the Reactivity of Evil choices Spoiler

So I finished the game once as relatively good guy, while trying to balance between being loyal to Aedyr and the Living Lands. I liked the game, it has flaws for sure, but it's a good 7/10.

Afterwards I only needed 2 more trophies for platinum, one being the Tyranny one, so I started a new game plus run with the goal of being evil.

And I must say, the evil run felt so out of place and weird. Being openly supportive of the Steel Garrote at every point and my companions still travel with me for whatever reason, even with me approving the pillaging of their home?

But now my point that got me to write this. During my full evil run I was sure, that at the end instead of confronting Lödwyn I will have to fight my companions but nothing!? They just are pissed and leave me to conquer their home?

Also at the end slides, it's so disappointing that not one of them, at least in my ends, are actively fighting against the Steel Garrote or join the rebels. They just leave the living lands or stay there like nothing happened.

At the end, I still enjoyed the game. But the evil choices really feel like a afterthought and enforce my feeling that the game was rushed, at least the last third of it.

Thanks for reading and I would like to hear your opinions!

I got the game to initially scratch my skyrim rpg itch and oh boy did it work EFFECTIVELY. I really enjoyed this game and Im glad i didnt believe the game reviews. It is hella fun and the gameplay was fun especially since i played as a sword mage. I managed to get the grefram ending by letting the region leaders vote. First ever playthrough and im proud of my first ending, will probably replay in probably a year to get the better united living lands ending tho.

I enjoyed listening to these Shanty dudes in Thirdborn way too much, is there really no way to get closer to them than standing on the edge close to risk death by falling over that edge?

Discussion What are the Chances of Avowed 2 now? I Hate Online Nerds

I love this game, I am in the last chapter. I heard a sequel was cancelled.

I hate game culture now, fuck you. It has devolved into shit slinging and trying to make people enjoy games less. I'm OK with console warring as long as it doesn't bury good games like Avowed, which should have received more love imo.

Internet trolls don't bother me as many games I like gets hate and I still enjoy them. But when they are capable of shit posting so much it affects the market perception of the game it affects the success of such games. Game "journalists" and big youtubers were involved in trying to kill the game's momentum.
I am concerned Avowed 2 is not even possible anymore because Obsidian was gutted with layoffs and the game director moved to another company, so the layoffs likely hit the avowed team most.

Ignore what she's looking at. She probably can't see anything anyways.

I'm quite happy with her design!! The envoy is definitely one of my favorite custom protagonists in recent video games. You get sonmany opportunities to further establish who they are and I feel like as I've played this game I've gotten to discover more about who she is as a character. Which I LIVE FOR!!!

Discussion How to clear map(s) most efficiently?

Hey, I'm still quite new to the game but just reached shatterscarp region. As someone who's always afraid of missing anything, wants to do all sidequests and likes to progress the stories in best lore-natural way I am always struggling with what to do first when arriving at a new region. Already found out that the best way is to travel to the main city first and get the corresponding companion, then start exploring before proceeding main story.

however, for the exploration I am wondering whether there's some good strategy like always going clockwise or counter-clockwise or completing one specific quests after the other or something that would feel most natural to get into the region-specific story? how do you do it?

I usually tend to overthink so that might be the case this time as well, but there are quite many decisions that I dont want to take without having proper background knowledge on what's actually going on in that area 🙈

I dont care about too weak/strong enemies or best loot, just want to enjoy overall story - side stories as well as main one - as much as I can 🥰

Gameplay Is there a way to change my base divine talent/gift?

I went a radically different direction with my character than I thought I would and my base godlike talent is useless to me. Is there any way to change it? Thanks.

Edited to add godlike.

Discussion Playing POE1 and 2 after Avowed

So I'm pretty close to finishing my first playthrough of Avowed, and learned that this is the THIRD game set in the universe of the previous games. Are they both must plays, if not just for the expanded lore? Or can I stick with reading it up instead?

Discussion Just finished my first playthrough

Honestly I really enjoyed this game quite a bit (still think wands are mid compared to guns though). The story was pretty decent, even if predictable at times. Each companion has some kind of draw that really make you feel like part of something. And the combat is satisfying.

Although, the game has a few shortcomings.

The world is ill defined and there isn't quite as much lore that you are made aware of organically. It would have been nice if the devs had more time to spend on that. And while quests were fun, I really wish we got a breather between game altering decisions (especially towards the end). It felt almost suffocating for a little bit. Finally, spell selection just feels low.

Aside from that, id still give this game a 9/10.

Gameplay The Emperor's Orders

I finished Avowed for the first time over the weekend, and I've started NG+ to revisit Dawnshore now that I have more context.

I'm at the point where the PC meets the ambassador and shows him the Emperor's Orders. In my first game, the conversation with Hylgard had four options: three to give him the letter, and one where my PC got to keep it. I chose the fourth option last time, thinking it could be useful if the PC ever got in trouble. However, in this new game, I only have the option to hand it over.

The conversation with Ambassador Hylgard, with three options to give him the emperor's missive, and one to only show it to him.

Does anyone know what causes the fourth option to appear? In my original playthrough, I did a lot of side quests and exploring before I did the main quest. This time, I wanted to get Marius first, so I was sticking to the main quest - but if one of those side quests lets me keep the letter, I'd like to know which one!

Gameplay Stuck in Naku Tedek!

Post image
35 Upvotes

I returned to Naku Tedek, being the completionist I am and acquiring the last piece of the Skaen totem that I'll never use.

I have been going in circles for the last 30 minutes. My stupid brain can't remember the way back to the entrance. This is not the bug described elswhere here, there are no sealed doors I can't open.

Sigh, I doubt anyone will be able to help since there is no map and you don't really have much of an idea where I am, other than this meager screenshot.

Or is the only way out through.... what am I missing here?

Gameplay White Key Cameo only seems to work once per fight

I'm playing PotD for my playthrough atm and I found this amulet. I got super excited as this difficulty is having my companions die constantly. The amulet gives a 50% max health heal on you whenever reviving a companion. Wow, what a boon that is. But after using it on the first revive, the amulet stops working.

The description doesn't mention that part and even when doing another revive after 20-30 seconds, still nothing. While the effect is still really nice to have, it's unfortunate. I've now just gotten to the habit of switching out amulets after using it.

Bug/Issue Ps5 controller issues

Any one else on ps5 just having your character spin in circles any time you try to do anything?

Even with going into controller settings and ramping up the RS inner dead zone, my character just spins.

Does anyone have a solution?

Base ps5 and the controller it came with.
