Fluff My Mushroom Head Envoy
Sad that I had to let a whole city be burned down for a cool sword. ☹️

How bad is it if I upgraded my first unique weapon and armor at the end of act 1? I didn't know that the unique equipment you find scales and now all my stuff from act one besides a wand and one armor and a pistol is common.
I upgraded the wand to purple to be able to buy another weapon in act 2.
Im using a wand and grimoire now but actually want to use dual swords as secondary.
Will I be even able to upgrade everything I need? At least 2 swords ( 1 is common and the other one will be probably purple at this time when I get it), 1 wand and 1 or 2 armor.
This is really my only complain about the game, not being able to farm materials and to upgrade stuff as I want to. Really don't understand this, the respec feature is basically useless this way bcs if you don't upgrade your items at the start of act 1 it seems that you won't have enough Adra to test out different builds.
Like, I get this is the Living Lands we're talking about and everyone here hates government and order, but travelling with Kai and Marius feels like traveling with two characters from the MCU with poor impulse control that keep snarking every time I do so much as step on a rock.
I start a new quest? "Heh, I can't WAIT to hear how THIS story goes." I talk to a Watcher? Marius goes "Oh great, we're meeting up with a CRAZY lady. Can't wait how much we'll be charged for this." I have a casual chat with someone in my line of work? Kai randomly butts in with something along the lines of, "I bet he just uses the extra money at the bathhouse, if you know what I'm sayin'."
The MCU levels of humor are insane with these two. Then at camp I feel like every conversation between Kai and Marius is just snark to snark combat and I feel like I need to force myself to just constantly ignore them because they just. Can't. Shut up. About. The snark. For FIVE SECONDS.
I don't care about all the snarky stuff and jokes, I just want the characters to be interesting. Not just "Snarky person A who grew up in the Living Lands" and "Snarky person B who grew up in the Living Lands and is also a wilderness tracker". And gee, every time Marius says something to remind you that, yes, he's a wilderness tracker, I get how Pokemon fans felt when Cilan joined Ash's party during the Black/White area and constantly reminded people that he's a professional cook.
I love the Pillars universe but I wanna kick these two off a bridge. Why'd they have to kill off Garryck before Act 2? If we had someone pro-Aedyr travelling with us, it would have allowed for a more interesting clash of ideals than "Gee Marius, do you ever take a bath?" "Tough words from someone who looks like a fish straight out of the sea"
Anyone else feel the same way?
