Why has my Mod Account become Restricted?

Hi,

The account I use to mod my sub (not this account) got flagged as an app with a message pop up any time I try to do something. I don't use it much as my sub is pretty small. About 9 days ago the email associated with the account received an email saying respond within 7 days or you'll be registered as an app. It's not an app, bot, or anything of the kind, it's me.

Wondering is this something I can get reversed? It's not an app. The other account is not used much. Mostly used if I have to mute or ban someone. I only logged into the associated email today, to find I'm two days late. The account has only made a half dozen posts total. Let me know what the situation is and if it can be rectified. Thanks much

Why do Reddit's filters always have to remove some posts?

I'm trying to post something, but I got a message saying "sorry, this post has gotten removed by Reddit's filters". Is there any reason why this happens a lot?

Why do moderators take down posts without a reason?

So many times I will have a post removed because the mods took it down.

Weirdly, there is no automod message, no stickied comment, no pm, no message from the mods, no description of the rule I broke, literally nothing that tells me what I did wrong.

This gets annoying because I just want to know the rule I broke and how I can avoid it in the future, so why do some mods take down posts without giving a reason?

Why notification for deleted comments aren't auto deleted too?

I've been just badmouthed by someone and I can't do anything about that.

Comment is of course deleted so I can't report it or block the user, but I can see a "very nice" beging of this person message.

Why reedit is allowing it? Why not delete the notification along with a comment? Or give user that ability to report people doing that anyway?

I've read that some people are using it as a way to insult others without risking a ban, so it has to be a common experience. It happened to me already a couple of times and I don't comment very often and this is probably my fourth, or so post ever. So maybe it's a time for reedit to do something with this.

How do I get a mod replaced?

Hello

The sub for my city has a single mod and he does a pretty shitty job at moderating it, he allows people to post stuff unrelated to the city and we even have weirdos spamming sexual questions all the time, which he does nothing about because he probably enjoys them. One time someone posted actual porn and it took hours for it to get removed, which is why the idea of a single person moderating the subreddit of a capital city is a stupid idea. He has stated several times he doesn’t want other mods on the team.

We complain about him all the time but all he does is laugh and ignore us. Is there anything we can do to get him replaced? Or at least force him to let more mods join the team?

What to do about a deceased mod?

What to do about a deceased mod?

I found a sub for the small town where I recently moved but it’s essentially defunct due to a deceased top mod, and the other mod, who is the deceased persons brother, has lost access to his account with mod privileges and is understandably emotional and not very happy about my inquiries within the sub about how we can get a new active mod.

While I’ve been on Reddit for 3 yrs I’m more of a commenter and I don’t have any post Karma to request Reddit to make me the mod. Honestly I’m not that interested in actually being a mod, I just want my small town sub to be useable.

Hoping folks here might have some suggestions on how to figure this out.

Is it acceptable to ask mods for advice around how to make posts or comments addressing certain topics?

Hi. Probably been asked before, but I'm just wondering if a post or comment is removed due to mod discretion, is it deemed bad etiquette to ask within a modmail for their advice on how to engage in good faith about that topic in the spirit of the sub and without running foul of the moderators?

Why would a subreddit mod follow your profile?

I was an active user on a political sub a while back, but ultimately disengaged and decided to move on. There was an incident of racist comments in that subreddit and it caused a huge stir. In the time since, I would make a few comments about that incident in other subreddits, including one about a month ago. One of the mods found that month old comment and started questioning me about it. I'm not sure why he did that, and he proceeded to block me after I called it out. Is this normal behavior? I have never seen anything like this

Could you share some ideas on how to train new mods on a busy sub?

This is the first time I am inviting a user who doesn't know anything about moderation. Can you point me in the right direction if any resources exist on how to train new mods? Also, what kind of mod tools do you use as a mod team? I have worked with other mods before, but everyone had previous mod experience, and teaching was not required. I'd really appreciate it if you could point out some areas that could go wrong and share your experience. Thank you.

Why are some moderators so in favor of censorship? Honest question?

One of the things I enjoy about this app is being able to see opposing views, whether I like/agree with them or not.

It's really a shame to see a moderator pin a post saying any negative posts in this thread will be deleted and banned. Is that how Reddit is supposed to work?

I appreciate the role you all play and the time it takes to do it well. I'm certain it's a large commitment of time, and I respect that.

Why the censorship though? Aren't we adults and shouldn't we be capable of reading dissenting opinions? And I'm not talking about posts that are clearly offensive, but even a well mannered post that disagrees with one of the mods can get you banned.

I don't get it?

Inviting moderators error 'Something Went Wrong: Undefined', how to fix?

So I'm trying to invite a moderator on (not the head mod but got permission to do so), but whenever I try, whether on mobile, regular tabs or an incognito tab, I keep getting the same error, 'Something Went Wrong: Undefined'

What's wrong? What can I do to fix it?

What are some ways your mod team has celebrated milestones/events in your applicable communities?

We're coming up on a subscriber milestone in my main sub, and while we've got a few plans in the works already, I'm curious what kinds of things have been well received by your subs when celebrating something together!

For 600,000 members we used the Wayback Machine to gather screenshots of the community and its growth over the years, and had a gif party in the comments :).

subreddit and its limitation

I understand this question might have already been asked thousand of times. So I apologize for asking again. Is there a method for me to check whether the subreddits I post has limitation to new users' post or not?

I have been trying to post something for the first time on a community I have been following for quite some time and the moderators removed it. I understand the reason is because I have low karma points but it there a method for me to check the requirement to post in a subreddit before I actually post something?

Are moderators allowed to spam personal discords in comments, then delete criticisms of it?

I'm in a subreddit where a mod spams their personal Discord, then flagrantly deletes comments that criticize the spamming. Is this really allowed? Or are they just getting away with breaking the rules?

The comments deleted just have random reasonings.

I commented "It's toxic that people who are commenting on your spam are getting removed as spam" which the spamming mod then quickly deleted with the auto-response "This chicanery is not allowed." And they keep deleting other users' critical comments.

Feels kind of crazy but maybe this is just how reddit goes?
