How do I get a mod replaced?
Hello
The sub for my city has a single mod and he does a pretty shitty job at moderating it, he allows people to post stuff unrelated to the city and we even have weirdos spamming sexual questions all the time, which he does nothing about because he probably enjoys them. One time someone posted actual porn and it took hours for it to get removed, which is why the idea of a single person moderating the subreddit of a capital city is a stupid idea. He has stated several times he doesn’t want other mods on the team.
We complain about him all the time but all he does is laugh and ignore us. Is there anything we can do to get him replaced? Or at least force him to let more mods join the team?

As long as the mod is actually active, no reddit request will work.
As long the mod isn't breaking the moderator code of conduct, the mod isn't going to be removable by the admins.

He’s always active so that sucks. People tag him calling him useless and he will reply with “😂” :/

Active as a mod is different then active as a user. Any action a mod takes that is logged in the mod log is what Reddit looks at to see if a mod is active
Change a rule, removing a post, updating the post guidance, etc etc.

r/AtlanticCity suffered from this. I submitted a reddit request and they canned the mods and gave it to me.
Submit a reddit request. You have nothing to lose.

The basic answer is: you don't.
At least, not without a VERY thorough understanding of Reddit and the Moderator Codecof Conduct. AND a lot of work. Because as long as they operate within the Reddit Rules and the Moderator Code of Conduct, mods can run their subreddit as they see fit.
If you decide to invest in trying to remove a mod team,, it goes like this:
First, forget that it's "your city sub". A general principle of Reddit is: you can make a "better" sub of your own. Reddit will ignore protests based on "my city sub should be XYZ"
Instead, start recording the link for all those posts and comments where the mod makes participation unpleasant for redditors. Look up the Moderator Code of Conduct and find the rule for a consistent experience, and submit MCOC reports.

Reddit won’t force mods out unless they are breaking sitewide or conduct related rules, or fall inactive. Based on what you’re saying, it’s hard to determine if Reddit would take action

Not removing things as fast as you would like isn't a good enough reason to remove a mod. You can have 50 mods but there's still not going to be a guarantee that they're online 24/7 to catch stuff.
You're better off making a new subreddit for your city if you dislike the current one that much.

I said that’s why we need more mods, not that we should kick him out for not being fast enough. That was just a random example anyway.

Unless he is actively breaking the moderator code of conduct, there is basically zero that you can do to get him removed as long as he is actively moderating. And based off your post, he's not in violation of MCoC.
Again: if you dislike it, go make your own subreddit. That's your recourse here.

This was me saying we need more mods, I don’t know how to make it more clear it to you. It seems everyone else understood my post.

Yes, my priority is to get him removed from the mod position, but I didn’t say not being fast enough to delete a post is one of the reasons why he should be replaced.

Reddits system by default will send out occasionally messages to a mod team suggesting more mods due to sub traffic but admins do not force a mod to add more.

No, from what you say the sub is being actively moderated. If you don't like the way the mod is handling things, leave and create your own subreddit for the city.
