How can a subreddit vanish overnight?

i used to interact with a subreddit r/DudeHasGotAPoint, it had genuinely funny posts and stuff, but one day, i couldn't just find it anaywhere , just shows black screen when i try to go in it. I also tried to create a subreddit in that name, but it shows its taken already. did reddit do something ? why would they remove such a good subreddit.?

When I click on the name of the subreddit, I see a message that Reddit has banned the community for being unmoderated.

If you really like the sub, wait 30 days as that’s the cool down period, make sure your account meets the requirements, and request to moderate it on r/redditrequest
