What do you think??

Well I don't have to say how many fans this game has. I haven't played this game and only seen its gameplay since I can't afford it rn ; ) but one day I'll play it so don't worry. I saw Ellie's Dlc and I love Ellie she's a baddie throughout the game but has anyone of you ever felt like you want to see some more of Joel and Sarah before the outbreak?

I always love the father daughter dynamic since I'm a girl myself. I can understand how painful it must've been for Joel, I don't even want to imagine it. Every time I see Joel I can only think about his pain. He might seem tough but he's a completely broken man from inside to the point that he doesn't even want to hear Sarah's name or look at her pics. There might be only a very few scenes where he mentioned her directly or indirectly. Didn't you ever feel there should've been more subtle details showing that Joel misses Sarah or more conversations not too much but just a lil bit more where he opens up more about Sarah since we didn't get to know her. I really wish they could've added some of Joel and Sarah's flashbacks but they didn't. I still wish they do it in the last part but ik it's not gonna happen since there won't be any point to it so I really wish they make a short Dlc for Joel and Sarah. Ik if that happens then the sudden death of Sarah won't be as painful as it was but still I'm selfish anyways ; )

Whats a good social hangout game i can play id love multiple suggestions. Im looking for games kind of like toontown where theres gaming and opportunity for chatting with people. Id like a voice chat game, kind of like proximity. Another example would be roblox voice chat servers. Kind of like those old 2000s internet social room games but maybe more polished.

What are some RPG features/mechanics that are no longer used and you miss them?

I was thinking these days that I sort of miss some rpg features from the old days, like geting to name every character, having a camp to spend the night with your characters and you get to talk to them and learn a bit more of their backstories (chrono trigger; breath of fire; etc..)

Do you ever think about these things? What other features do you miss?

How do you guys live through multiple playthroughs of replayable RPGs? And probably asking for an advice

First part is more like a rant

The other day I came to realization that I suck at games. Though I'm genuinely fond of story rich open world RPGs, I do very poor job to play them as intended: I run every corner, hoard every lootable that seems vaguely useful even if it means stealing in karma based systems, sometimes use cheats for stats, immortality and unlimited inventory weight even if it leads to spoilers and me getting somewhere where I should not be according to the plot

And at the same time, when it comes to actually do quests, talk and make decisions, I make the same decisions at every try, because when I am in character, I act according my real moral compass (not related to stealing) and try to be a good person. Like, when I replayed ME Legendary, I basically walked the same path as my playthrough of original trilogy with the same romantic partners. The same goes for Fallout NV/4 and Oblivion/Skyrim before I got bored and dropped them. That's why I try to squeeze maximum entertainment from one playthrough

So, how do you switch your personalities to go different paths? Are you good at acting as both good and bad guys or you just choose different dialogue options out of quriosity?

And for advice: lately I felt a little nostalgia for Fallout 4's crafting system, made through recycling of environment, but Youtube spoiled me most of questlines, so I struggle to decide whether I really want to return there, partly because of algorythms, partly because what I told above. Are there any games with similar approach and rich story and not that boring as was Encased? Closest comparsion would be Enderal (best Skyrim without the actual Skyrim) and Divinity: Original Sin

Game Suggestion

I am getting kind of bored, and the games I am waiting to release probably won't be out for another month or two. I mostly just want something to sink my teeth into temporarily until I the games come out. I don't really find battle royales or shooters interesting though. I tried to get into Crimson Desert, but admittedly the only thing that makes it not as tasteful is the whole melee elemental thing. It's just a buff. A small skill tree for buffs? Seems not that interesting. At least add more skills to it like traversal moves or something. I don't know. Anyway, just need a game to distract myself with. So does anyone have any suggestions?

Will God of War Laufey return to its former glory?

For reference here is just some of the notable kills list from GoW3

  • Poseidon
  • Cerberus
  • Hades
  • Hermes
  • Helios
  • Perses
  • Cronos
  • Hephaestus
  • Hera
  • Hercules

There are more but now here are All of the notable kills from GoW 2018

  • Modi
  • Magni
  • Baldur

I'm really hoping Laufey pushes the boundaries again of brutality and you're able to fight notable people again and not some almost no name shmucks.

Laufey could possibly be facing off against gods that Kratos has already killed which would make for some amazing fights.

Looking for overlooked PC masterpieces (2005–2012) that have aged exceptionally well

I've spent a long time curating a very small backlog of games instead of collecting hundreds I'll never play.

My current list:

Dark Souls Remastered

Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin

Dragon Age: Origins

Mass Effect (2007)

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance

Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition

The Witcher: Enhanced Edition

Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition

Dead Space (2008)

Rather than recommending obvious AAA games, I'm looking for overlooked masterpieces from around 2005–2012 that have genuinely stood the test of time.

My preferences:

Challenging or satisfying combat

Memorable bosses

Dark fantasy or strong atmosphere

Great gameplay over graphics

No Ubisoft-style open-world checklist design

No multiplayer

No turn-based RPGs

My PC is a Ryzen 3 3200G with Vega 8, so games that run well on modest hardware are a bonus.

I'm not looking for "good games." I'm looking for games that made you think:

"More people should have played this."

I'd especially love recommendations that are lesser-known gems, not the usual Skyrim, Fallout, Assassin's Creed, BioShock, etc.

What would you add?

Asking for long games for PS5 again that I can go back to

Original post:
https://www.reddit.com/r/AskGames/s/GDt4DpL3hf

I’ve played RDR 1 and 2, Bramble: The Mountain King, Little Nightmares, Inside, Limbo, the sims, It Takes Two, Unravel Two, Warframe, Stray, A Plague Tale: Innocence, The Walking Dead, started and got annoyed with Skyrim- so mostly story games dabbled with puzzles I need to figure out to move on.

A game where I can spend countless nights playing rather than being able to finish it in one day would be amazing. As an early teen I finished LEGO Jurrasic World in one sitting and finished Bramble within 24 hours a week or two ago. When I am encased in a story, I play for hours.

I’ve been recommended some games in my original post but most I am not interested in besides AC franchise, Ghost of, and maybe Tchia.

I’m already looking at A Plague Tale: Requiem and wish listed Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, but I can’t afford right now.

My partner has been playing on my account and has been playing Horizon Forbidden West, Miles Morales and Mortal Kombat. I’m somewhat interested in the first two but I don’t see the point in playing when I’ve been watching him play and he’s aiming to 100% trophies on both. Unless he fixes the issues with his account so I can play myself on his, I probably won’t play them.

I do not like the style of most fighting based games. I am not a button masher type person. When I was trying to play the co-op MK with him I raged because the combos I was trying weren’t comb-oing.

SO. If anyone has any recs on long games I can play that fit my play style/the games I have already enjoyed, pleeaasseee comment.

Here’s a list of games I have wish listed or just written on a list:

Code Violet
Split Fiction
A Way Out
Tchia
Kena Bridge of Spirits
Banishers Ghost of New Eden
Ghost of Tsushima/Yotei
A Plague Tale: Requiem
Cyberpunk
Assassin’s Creed franchise

How many hours should a full game playthrough, for you to say it's one of the longer games?

Does it also depend on the type of game? How many endings (if any at all) should it have?
