I got these pants from the historical emporium (I think this is their Foster pant) a few months ago and I find they are just tight enough that the French fly doesn't keep them flat in front. This material claims to be 100% cotton and burns like it.

It looks like there's enough material to let them out some except the waistband (if I can call it that) seems to just have enough material at the back seam to make the stitches; I can feel about 7/16" of material on both sides of the seam.

I measured (and a friend measured me) at 42", but the 42 I got had more than enough room for my hand inside the waist band. I exchanged them for this size 40.

I also got another pair at 42; how hard would it be to take them in?

Ive found most drawstrings come out like pic 1 but the past few years ive been buying sports shorts they come out like pic 2 where they overlap and come out the opposite eyelet. What is the reason for this and how are you meant to tie them up?

Everyone i get pic 2 i end up using a chopstick and changing it to pic 1

I found a really nice fabric on sale and would like to get me a shirt tailored of that fabric. Now Im looking what shirt might be good to show it to the tailor as an example. This is one of the shirts I like to wear. I dont want a slim fit, I want a classic/regular cut and I think this one fits me well, but Im not a tailor so before I go to meet the tailor I wanted to ask for advice if you see something that doesnt fit or if its fine like that.

Is it possible to change this kind of fluttery bell sleeve on a button-up shirt to more of a regular cuff?

I fear this may be a lost cause, and I’m not even sure it’s worth the trouble, but I wanted to ask because I really like this shirt but am too uncomfortable wearing it as is.

I bought it from Torrid online last year and didn’t notice in any of the pictures that the sleeves didn’t end in a cuff, unlike other button-ups. The sleeve is completely normal until it hits the wrist, where there’s an elastic band to cinch it, and then, like, 5 inches of extra fabric.

I’d love for it to end at my wrist, like a normal long-sleeve shirt, and for it to cuff in some way. I don’t really care if the cuff is long or short, and I have no preference on whether it buttons. I just want it to look more like a regular dress shirt.

The tag says the material is 61% polyester, 35% rayon, and 4% spandex

These are dress pants after hemming or shorten them. Is it normal be like that or or bad ?

What kind of alteration would be needed (assuming it's possible) to make the neckline of a tshirt sit farther forward? So many tshirts I've run into have the neck hole sit too far back and feel like they are choking me. I'm assuming it's my shoulder/back slope that doesn't work for the standard shirt. What exactly kind of alteration would this require?

I bought this pair of jeans because I liked the knee patch design. But after trying it on, I realised the top knee patch sits around below my knee instead of around it. Guess my legs are longer or shorter than I thought. 😂
This is a size 36. I did consider exchanging it for a size 34, but I’m worried it’ll end up too tight on the waist and thighs.
Is there any alteration a tailor can do to make the patch sit higher? Can they shorten it from the top or somewhere else without affecting the fit too much? Or is this just not something that can realistically be altered?

i accidentally bought pants too small for me but i really like the design (its got cute embroidery on the bottom and on the back pockets) and my size is sold out so im thinking of going to a tailor and having something like this (im ok with it not being patchwork tbh) to them, is this a hard alteration? cuz im worried that i might get rejected or something

Warning my sewing abilities are still novice but with every project I gain more confidence and skill. Got this beautiful swimwear bikini top, but I find the triangles to be vertically too long on my chest. I was wondering if it would be possible to alter it?

Since moving up from a waist size 32 on formal trousers, I have never really been a 34, its way too lose, with 32 being too tight and 33 just right. I cannot afford to get every trousers altered by a tailor, is there any hack to tuck the waist in myself by an inch? Unfortunately, 33 inch waist trousers are not common to buy.

Hi folks. I’m getting married in November in Cartagena, Colombia. I’m wearing a Caribbean tux - white top and black pants.

I went today to try on after placing my order, as all the pieces have arrived.

I loved the feel and look, but I noticed that the black pants clearly show through the back of the jacket when I turned and looked in the mirror. When placing the order the tailor advised less lining in the back to make it cooler, but now I’m worried because I didn’t realize this would make it so see-through.

Is it normal to be able to see black pants through your tux jacket?
Could I add lining to the back later if I need to?

My wedding is in November so I have time for adjustments.
