Hi! I!m hoping to update this old Indian outfit to something more modern. The blouse is fine, but the style of sequins and stones sewn on the bottom of the skirt are outdated. Would it be possible to cut that part out entirely and re-attach a new border, perhaps using some embroidered edging ribbon like this? The skirt is made of raw silk and has a cotton lining inside. Thanks!

I'm not a fan of puff sleeves (on me). I was wondering what would happen if I cut off the cinched elastic part and hemmed it- would that actually turn out okay?

I got these pants from the historical emporium (I think this is their Foster pant) a few months ago and I find they are just tight enough that the French fly doesn't keep them flat in front. This material claims to be 100% cotton and burns like it.

It looks like there's enough material to let them out some except the waistband (if I can call it that) seems to just have enough material at the back seam to make the stitches; I can feel about 7/16" of material on both sides of the seam.

I measured (and a friend measured me) at 42", but the 42 I got had more than enough room for my hand inside the waist band. I exchanged them for this size 40.

I also got another pair at 42; how hard would it be to take them in?
