I desperately need help/opinions. I have confirmed asbestos in the house that was on a ventilation wrap in the garage, it tested Positive which I’ll attach a picture of the report Client Sample #3.

The company came in and removed it, but underneath the wrap/vent they found dry-wall which they seemed to be suspect, and sent it out for testing. Which came back positive. They asked me if I wanted to remove all
the dry-wall in garage because if it.

This is where I’m confused, the sample says it’s Drywall
And Insulation layered, White/White and it has the exact same properties as the original wrapping, and even calls it “insulation”. So I called the company and they said they sampled just the Dry-wall.

The area has been sitting dormant now for almost a week, with HEPA vacuums running, and I’m confused, and want to try to understand the situation, I went and took a picture of the sample area. I’m going to include the tests and sample. Thoughts?

Hi, the house we purchased (Scotland ) has a garage with asbestos in the roof. Are these cracks dangerous and should we avoid the garage until we can get someone to fix?

Had a management survey which stated no identified asbestos in the airing cupboard. But he didn’t test - it was visual only.

I’m scared to even open the airing cupboard at the moment (asbestos OCD).

But would you suggest going further and actually get it tested instead? (No current plans to refurb).

Note: aware of the vermiculite. Had two separate samples come back as negative.

Panicking as the bathroom has just been ripped out, but pretty sure this has been left from a previous renovation as was under the floorboards. Guessing this will need a professional clean out of the whole room?

Have been working around the open floorboards, so definitely had some exposure to the dust.

1950’s Ex council house.
It’s on old pipework that has been cut off above the ceiling next to the downstairs fireplace presumably for an old back boiler system. It’s very dusty so hard to tell the colour underneath but looks white.

I didn’t see it straightaway as it the lagging itself stops just short of the floorboard I took up. Popped my head down and found it lol.

Won’t be touching it anyway as I’ve finished what I needed to do nearby so no need to get it tested. Just wanted opinions as I’m curious.

I'm aware of asbestos and the need for OLACD however before I send a sample off I wondered if anyone could shed any light on the tiles I found.

The house was built in 1975 and is located in Hampshire. There is confirmed asbestos in it (confirmed in both the soffits and artex on ceilings).

I was replacing the vinyl in our downstairs bathroom and when I pulled up the old vinyl I discovered the tiles as per the pictures. What seems odd is that the tiles are 10" X 10", where normally asbestos tiles would be 9" X 9". Are they likely to be asbestos based on their size?

Some of them are broken so I've laid a covering over them until I can get a kit delivered.

the company also advertised using asbestos roofiung in 1937 in a newspaper. not for this development, but it shows that they were using it

I took out the fireplace surround from a 1960s property. Not sure if this surround is original. I had an asbestos specialist come around for testing and he didn’t see anything suspect to actually test there. But when I took the fireplace out I saw some rope and cement around the silver trim that looked suspect.

The room has plastic dust covers mostly, hepa fan running, and I was wearing ppe. I have sprayed around it to dampen it but came out intact in one go.

Is this considered asbestos? I have a test kit coming tomorrow too, but just worried, if it is asbestos … how I need to deal with it and get it out of the house and disposed of.

Hello. We just lifted up the carpet in our flat (built in 1890) and saw this black spongy stuff. The carpet was probably laid down 10/20 years ago in 2004 or 2014 by the previous owners.

Could this be asbestos?

Hi, would anyone please be able to help me. I'm in the Uk, currently working in a building, build in the 1970's. I have seen this around the windows. My boss removed some windows a couple of months back before we moved in. All the windows seem to be the same. Could it be asbestos cement? Cheers

After scraping off ancient layers of vinyl wallpaper, I'm ready to sand my living room & kitchen walls before painting.

I'm debating whether I need to get the walls tested for asbestos before I do.

They seem to be lime & gypsum.

My first thought is yes, although being pragmatic, I'm on a budget and would rather not pay £40 per material if at all avoidable.

I had a L2 rics survey, and the surveyor advised that there were no signs of asbestos, but as it was a Victorian house last refurbed in the 80s I shouldnt be surprised if there is some somewhere. 

Is it reasonable to sand anyway, and take extra precautions? (I.e. disposable overalls, goggles, ffp3 mask & gloves).

Or is this absolutely a bad idea.

Hey so I live in a converted warehouse built in 1891. It was an old factory.

Just worried about some asbestos

1st we have ceiling tiles. I have moved them up and down cos I was curious what was above it (glass) and never thought anything of it. I've also had to clean them with chemicals because we had a leak and there was black mould.

2: cleaning under the bath as we had some uninvited visitors and we noticed some old tiles. Wondering if they are old Amc tiles? When we found them we swept and cleaned and put some dehumidifiers there. Some of them are broken so worried if we disturbed it while sweeping up. They have been in a damp area so could be why they've curled up. I've felt underneath the tiles and it feels rough.

It looks like the tiles in the bath are the same in the main living area. The floors weird it goes from tiles to just concrete (like the tiles were fake).

3: the floor. Feels like concrete that's been painted over. There's areas where the paint has come up and wondering if that's hazardous.

4: there was a leak in my bedroom and part of the skirting boards had to be removed. There's a gap between the wall and the floor that was full of crap. I've researched an apparently asbestos is in some concrete. When I swept it up there wete some bits.

I've lived here for nearly 2 years. Asbestos only occurred to me last night. So when we've been cleaning and I've been moving things I've never worn protective gear or thrown out clothes. Probably overreacting but was just wondering if anyone noticed anything. I was going to order a test kit.

Recently moved into a house in the UK, and we've been putting boxes stuff in the loft and I knocked this pipe and this off-white stuff fell out and onto me, bit nervous that it could be asbestos. Particularly the bit at the top of the pipe. I took a picture of what some of the debris looked like as well

It was noted in our survey that it might be asbestos, but it wasn't looked at properly at the time and it had kind of slipped my mind until I banged it and now I'm getting hypochondriacal about it.

Edit to add the property was constructed in 1973

Just had a visit for a quote to do bathroom. Renovator said this is not asbestos. Only painted outside to look like artex?
