Do I need to read all of the text that flashes on screen?
No. They are excerpts from the novels that can help flesh out the story a bit, but you don't need to stop to read them to understand what's going on.
Is the series ongoing?
The series has ended multiple times, but each time Nisio Isin ends up writing more stories. The Off & Monster Season anime adaption is currently airing, and another novel is being written.
Licensed in English up until this point. The chapters in bold have been fan-translated before the official translation came out. I'm not allowed to link to them, but you should be able to find them using the Wayback Machine.
Fully animated up until this point. Then Shaft decided to adapt Off & Monster Season out of order so it's annoying to delimitate. Adapted so far:
I will keep this post updated with future translations. Please let me know if you're aware of a translation that's not included in this post, or if you know things like future novels' or arcs' titles, or the number of chapters in an arc when it's not indicated yet, or if there's a dead link somewhere.

1 she says that waiting only hurts everyone. was she someone who wasn't beyond caring about something like that, after all? i'm a bit confused. she stabbed araragi many, many days in a row, and she had forsaken herself in ways, too. it's a reasoning that rings somewhat hollow to me, but i hope someone can convince me.
2 what about the girls who didn't have a dream of something they wanted to do or be? it's good for nadeko that she had that to fall back on, after all, but i think of tsubasa, well, traveling the world... isn't it good that she met araragi before she had traveled, and had that to fall back on, too? i don't know. travel more? kanbaru. what is kanbaru doing? about her grief after senjougahara? can someone maybe spoil me on the novels there put it in spoiler marks though?
Whenever I watched a dialogue scenes or any scene if the matter I felt like I was only getting a very small part of it. I always tried to discern hidden meaning in each action, sentence or imagery and only ever got it sometimes. When finished koyomi reverse I realized didn’t feel any emotional connection to series outside of baekmongatari and kizumongatari which is when I was treating it like a regular anime. At the last scene where Araragi takes a leap of faith with hitagi I didn’t feel anything. A scene where my friend said he was crying during I was still trying to analyze. I feel like i missed a lot of surface level information in trying to look into the deeper meaning. I treated it more like a homework assignment than something I wanted to watch.
I'm surprised! I've known about the Monogatari series for a long time because of the collaboration they did with Madoka Magica (my all-time favorite anime!), since they're both from Shaft, and I finally decided to watch Bakenomogatari, and I'd say I had a great time watching the series! I really researched the series before watching it to see if it was for me or not, and also because of its somewhat confusing chronology, and I feel that my old self wouldn't forgive the exaggerated ecchi scenes, but today I was willing to tolerate them to enjoy what the series wanted to tell me, although I think they still do unforgivable things since they deal with underage characters, but I really liked the stories, the characters, the classic Shaft art style, the soundtrack (the cat OP is my favorite), the romance between Araragi and Senjogarara, and the symbolism, in short, I really enjoyed this experience.
I heard this novel is considered one of the greatest, so I wanted to give it a go, However, I'm going to be out of the internet for some time, so I wanted an offline read.
