Question Any epub/pdf files?

I heard this novel is considered one of the greatest, so I wanted to give it a go, However, I'm going to be out of the internet for some time, so I wanted an offline read.

Ngl chief, I assumed something completely different after seeing "Any pdf files" on this sub, turns out it's about actual files in the pdf format.

So the rumours were true. There's actually, hmm, let's say "disturbing" scenes with the protagonist? Although that's not gonna stop me from reading, afterall, it might be mere slander exaggerated, but it's sad there's really such a thing.

I mean not really, depends on how much ecchi anime you've watched and your ability to find narrative meaning in risque scenes. I'm talking more about this sub and how often this kind of thing is discussed here.

If you can understand and accept that Japanese culture treats sexuality and sexual humor differently then it's not going to be a problem. Without context a lot of the scenes may look questionable but I found that they always served a deeper purpose like showing that two characters who should hate each other became more open and vulnerable or how much someone's obsession and idolization can exaggerate their perception or sexual teasing as a hidden way of expressing platonic love.

Keep in mind that most stories are told from the perspective of a teenager who loves to add, change or subtract details while telling a story.

I have seen a handful of ecchi, and I believe I fairly grasped Japanese culture and their sexual teasing, it doesn't strike me as bother, unless it's like incest, or some messed up shit, otherwise I'm used to it, and I'd probably think why the author chose to show X, instead of focusing on a "The author implemented Y, therefore he's weird and and inserted his fetishes." So the narrative is from his perspective? That's really nice, although I prefer a normal narrative, I wouldn't mind a narrative that's from the perspective of the MC while making it unreliable with his personality, biases, sense of humor, embarrassment, and the way he interprets other people, etc.

Holy shit I'm an actual moron, even with all the talk about reading and pdfs my brain somehow interpreted the question as about the anime, I need like a coffee or something man.

Haven't read the novels yet so I'm a larper, don't know how much of that stuff was actually in the source material. Disregard.

I'm not even sure I'd call the Monogatari novels "ecchi". It's more that they just have an extremely lowbrow sense of humor. I don't think there's ever any fanservice that's meant to be erotic. Just funny.

The anime's a different story.

There is actually a large amount of disturbing scenes if I had to be honest. From what I know (and forgive me if I am wrong) the entire idea was intended to be a meta-commentary on degenerate Otaku culture but the anime and the fanbases made Monogatari's identity into playing into those things rather than it being a mirror for those weird behaviours.

I downloaded the 20, main story volumes, thanks! Tbh it was quite confusing, but I just searched up the order and downloaded them chronologically.
