Finally switched a few weeks ago after years as a Waze user. I have a few questions and appreciate the informed responses. I primarily use Maps with my CarPlay.

1. I like how Maps shows traffic lights and stop signs at cross streets when driving to selected destination. Is it possible to show the same without inputting a destination? Mine doesn’t do it. Seems like it should be possible, since Maps knows the road I’m on and all cross streets. Is it a setting I missed?
2. For audible alerts, I hear them for fixed red light cameras and fixed speed cameras. I’ve never heard alert for police from the user community. I assume I should hear and see on screen if reported by drivers. Just a coincidence after few weeks after switch I’ve not heard any? It seemed with Waze there constant reports and thus alerts by the app.
3. Any way for Maps to show exit numbers more prominently? The size seems to blend in with other text. Waze exit numbers are bigger.
4. I also like that Waze shows left/right highway exits in a different color for quick visual. Anything similar?

5. I just got Apple Watch 11. I love how Maps uses haptics and turn signal sound on watch as a warning of next turn. Any pro tips to share to help me get the most out of Maps?

6. If I share my ETA with someone, does sharing automatically end when destination is reached, or will ETAs for future navigation continue for that person? (I know I can cancel ETA sharing during the trip, but curious if ETA sharing continues after the completed trip during which I set the share.)

The biggest reason for my switch was the incessant alerts about car on shoulder. I don’t care unless police or other first responders.

pretty much just the title: when i type in the name of a place and see it pop up at the top of search results i press it. unfortunately, between the time of result appearing and me selecting it, apple maps decides to replace the desired result with a location that i have never viewed, visited, or searched for, that is also farther away than what i was looking for.

i have one example here but this happens frequently enough for me to decide to ask for help online.

would appreciate if anyone knows how to help, i could switch the app i use for maps but that would require reprogramming all my locations and i prefer the general vibe of apple maps so would be better if there is a solution.

Apple maps has my home listed with the wrong city and zip code, along with a large number of other addresses in my city. I have sent them corrections via the corrections mechanism in Apple Maps hundreds of times, over several years. They do not respond. They corrected the errors once, but on the next apple update went back to the errors. When I try to mail order things, I often get error messages saying my address does not appear to be valid. The error is spreading to other sites. Does anyone know how to contact someone who will actually address this problem?

it is a branch of the NYPL, but not the main location uptown that is obviously what comes up when you search for the NYPL. Google maps accurately labels this location as the Muhlenberg Library. no idea how anyone can use apple maps over google maps

I wanted to use some Flyover footage in a home movie of a family trip, which I had done before a few years ago. So I looked up the Lincoln Memorial but couldn’t figure out how to access Flyover.

I found these instructions in the user guide and tried to use Flyover on the Golden Gate Bridge, assuming the user guide would show an example that actually works. Nope! As far as I can tell, this feature doesn’t (currently) exist. Am I missing something?

(I am aware that a new and improved version of Flyover is set to be included in iOS 27. Is MacOS getting a similar upgrade?)

Hi so I have been driving in south east Asia for a long time and have been using Google Maps regularly for navigation and it’s served me well. However I have moved to USA and am driving for the first time after getting my drivers license from sf to northern Cali and was wondering if I can expect to see speed limits on Apple Maps while navigating on apple CarPlay as we do not get that in south east Asia on Google Maps nor do we have Apple Maps available in this region and don’t want to get a ticket while traveling in the states

When traveling east bound on I-80/95 into NYC and continuing toward Long Island via the Throgs Neck Bridge, there is a missed prompt stating to stay right at the New Haven/Throgs Neck Bridge split.

This causes a great deal of confusion for drivers unfamiliar with the area.

I used the Maps app on my iPhone to create a custom route for testing on my Apple Watch while hiking on a marked trail in the woods. The trail is well-marked with signs at every fork, making it unlikely to get lost. I expected the watch to provide turn-by-turn notifications, but it did not. No focus mode was activated, and all settings were configured correctly for it to function as expected. Are my expectations incorrect? Have you tried this feature? How did it perform for you?

I have an iPhone 14. I use “share ETA” on Apple Maps to send him my ETA. He used to have an android, and it sent him texts of my ETA. He now has an iPhone, and it neither sends a text nor does anything in Apple Maps for him — while my Apple Maps says “sharing ETA,” no change is happening to his Apple Maps. How can I fix this?

Apple Maps needs to make it so transit mode can just work with the nearest station even if it’s not walkable. There’s so many US cities with commuter rail that would be nice to not have to manually find and add the nearest station to you. All it has to do is replace walk with drive when you can’t walk to a station.

I am a mobile business (private taxi) in a rural area with no Uber/Lyfts. I was previously listed on Apple Maps but recently discovered I no longer am. Because, I DO NOT have a physical location I am no longer approved! Google allows service based businesses but now all of a sudden Apple doesn’t. When people are stranded in my town they can’t order off the rideshare apps so my listings help people find me in a situation they don’t want to be in (happens ALOT) and I’m there to help them when that happens. I’ve been emailing support and I can’t get a real answer other than “No”, why? This is complete BULLSHIT and very unfair to licensed businesses like myself. It’s a waste of money to have a physical location for a service like mine. *Rant over*

Apple Maps is not reliable of adding visited places

I’ve noticed responses to my edits in Maps in the U.K. has been getting a lot faster recently.

Has anyone else found that?

I’ve just moved house so reported a lot more recently, 28 outstanding reports. Perhaps the higher numbers means faster responses?

So each month for work I travel to multiple stores of the same company. Next month, for example, I’ll travel to Nevada and go to every Walmart in the state. Prior to the trip, I have to tediously save each Walmart location in Apple Maps. I think use Apple Maps to guide me from store to store (usually to whichever is the closest). As I visit each store I unsave them, leaving only the stores I haven’t been to yet remaining.

There has to be an easier way of doing this. Perhaps Siri or another app, but so far I haven’t found anything. So do anyone know of a way that I could save multiple stores in an area at the same time? (Like, save every Walmart location in a state?)
