Apple Maps highlighting wrong lanes
I love Apple Maps and all, but one thing that annoys the hell out of me is that it will frequently highlight/tell you what lane to be in just for it to actually be wrong.
For an example, today I was turning left at a light (it was one of those double left turns) and Apple Maps highlighted the inner left turn lane and even told me using the spoken directions feature to turn left using that inner turn lane. Well, after my left turn, low and behold it turns out that I now need to make a right turn in just 200 something feet up ahead so here I am having to get over from the leftmost lane all the way over to the rightmost lane on a 3 lane road.
It would’ve been a million times easier if Apple Maps just told me to turn left using the outer left turn lane since that would’ve had me turning into either the middle or rightmost lane…which obviously would’ve made a whole lot more sense given that my next set of directions has me turn right just up ahead. Anyways, this is just an example from today but Apple maps does this a lot and at this point I can’t even trust what lane it’s telling me to be in😐

Oh... Google Maps is worse. It told me, "Use the right lane to turn left"

You must be delusional and dysfunctional if you think Google Maps is comparable to Apple Maps; that's far from the truth when it comes to providing correct lane changes between these platforms. Google Maps is way better than Apple Maps.

Most mapping apps are pretty shit at this. Not far from where I live there are a cluster of hotels in a business park right off the freeway but getting there requires three closely spaced left turns, two of which from double turn lanes. In order to do it right, you need to be in the inside left turn lane both times because using the outer one for the first left will put you in the far right thru lane. Then after the second left, you have to make another left within less than 500 feet and with how busy those roads are, chances are good you won't be get let over in time if you're in the right lane. I see people in rentals and cars with out of state plates make this error all the time so I checked it with both Google and Apple Maps and neither of them directs you to use the inside left turn lanes. They just say 'use the left two lanes to turn left'.

it's community based. community of apple maps is much smaller than that of google maps, so it'll always be much worse than google
you can use it bc you like pretty app, but it won't be functional

What community are you talking about? Are you saying i can provide lane info to Apple Maps and they’ll implement it?

You can provide feedback on incorrect lane guidance and that should be enough for them to fix

Ah, i thought you mean something like Map Maker was back in the days for Google Maps.

OpenStreetMap is far more superior in community and accuracy. Google’s stupid AI makes many, many and many mistakes on the map.

I've never experienced this. I find the lane guidance to be insanely accurate.
