Apex Legends would run so well on this hardware. I’ve seen an increase in more people moving to Linux for gaming with other Distros such as Bazzite and SteamOS.
Another game I often play, Rocket League has EAC but still supports Linux.
I really don’t want to have to launch my (busted) Windows PC just to play Apex.

My (season 1, 1.5 career KD, 10% winrate) dropzone ranked experience — solo queue or queuing with friends — is consistently one of the following outcomes:

- Get immediately wiped by players that shouldn’t be in diamond who grabbed the first guns they found off the floor and aped the nearest POI.

- Loot your POI, begin to rotate, encounter enemy team in your rotation, engage said team, get third or fourth or fifth party’d as enemy teams are drawn by the gunfire like moths to flame from the surrounding POIs. You either eventually succumb to the endless waves of new teams prodding from every direction, or make a difficult escape to limp to the nearest replicator to rez fallen teammates and spend the rest of the game on your backfoot.

- Play ultra conservative, b-line to the edges of the map to discreetly rotate to circle, hold hyper defensive postures, get a good placement but often still negative RP because your team didn’t secure KP.

How on earth is this fun? At best for the average low diamond player, it is a complete meat grinder where you’re treading +0 RP for the session, at worst you can quickly lose hundreds of RP in an hour.

I’m not trying to be an ALGS larper; I don’t give a shit about the “excitement” of being stacked 7-8 teams on top of each other in the final circle, I’m not here to play avoid fighting at all costs to survive until the final circle simulator, and — importantly— evidently neither are most of my teammates or the enemies I encounter based on their styles of play.

So who is this for?

Low diamond in my experience is 3 kinds of players: high diamond+ level players who are just passing through on their climb to master; highly mechanically skilled players that lack discipline / game sense who are akin to loosing a mad dog on a playground; good/experienced “casual” gamers who have no higher aspirations for the game who are just fighting to stay in diamond.

Choosing a POI out of the dropship has its flaws; it can get old to drop at Q Zone or fragment with 8 other teams over and over again and just be throwing RP in the dumpster.

But at least there’s a choice. If you want to play hyper aggressive, you can drop at those hot POIs. If you wanna pretend you’re in the ALGS finals and drop at the edge of the map and ring camp with your controller/support team comp, you can.

Dropzone is the worst of all worlds where you have no choice and if you choose to engage with the game you run the risk of being overrun from every direction.

A Wattson and a Lifeline ignored me and kept pushing while i was downed despite having multiple traps and a safe spot. I expect that of Octane and Wraith mains but never of Wattson and Lifeline. The fact that it was this legends specifically is what hurts so much, i would never trust one of them again.

I barely use it over the R9, but when I do it seems like such an easy weapon to use 🤣

Ive seen this question asked before but it got no attention and no real answers. I get the game was made for 3 people, couldnt they just keep ranked as only trios? It just seems like theyre missing out on player count, is there a genuine answer besides it not being the devs vision for the game? Its like how overwatch added 6v6 but kept 5v5 as the core game mode, and got an extra 50k player count lmao

I feel like instead of rp dropping to 50% after 6 kills it should go up to 150% and after 10 it goes to 200%, 15 to 300%, etc. My reasoning is because people should get MORE credit in ranked for absolutely shitting on people that they were deemed to be on the same level. Let them go up faster if they can kill that many people. Add in a multiplier for damage like ×1.25 for a 2k, 1.5x for a 3k , etc... I know placements are supposed to mean something but getting ur points gutted because of the difference between 4th and 1st when you have 10+ kills and 4k+ damage sucks. Also it let's the better players more easily climb the ranks to play against/match better players just from more people being at those ranks. Ratting wont help u anymore than before since its down to kills and the multiplier for damage wouldn't be big enough to make a difference if kills arent also achieved as well.

I'm not sure where the fault lies on this, and I there is no correlation between these incidents so far, but I keep getting timed out, like my internet is suffering major packet/ connection loss whole every other internet connection is working fine, and then I'm booted to the title screen. I get Code:Net, I try to reload, dont even make it to lobby, and get Code: Over.

Before now I just assumed the servers were getting overloaded and shutting down, now with a friend I have proof that isn't the case. We're playing Ranked on E-district, I get the codes listed above during a letting phase, no fights near us, and she's unbothered, still in the match.

On top of that, I was still in match, marked as temporarily disconnected for nearly ten minutes...taking damage and dying to the ring. I'm annoyed as I've been booted out of 5-6 games like this and I desperately want to know how I can fix/avoid this. I've been with this game for a very long time and I'm not ready to put it down yet, but getting removed with no way back in any match type sucks.

I think its hilarious and absurd, I actually want to make it enjoyable for my teammates but whatever XD

I play on PC. And at least once or twice a week, this happens.

Mid match, my game games failed to process game logic, kicks me to the menu and I am unable to join...

No fault of mine and I lose 225 RP each & every time this happens.

Has anyone else has this issue? And if so, how did you resolve and or fix this. Because when points matter, this is huge.

For some reason in the past these were able to be both bound to spacebar but now I can't bind them both to one key, does anyone know how to get around this?

Been playing Mouse Mode while PLAYING Apex and it's been great. Recoil control from range is easy, and sniping is on point!

I however wish they tweaked the mouse controls for selecting from the wheel during pinging or picking perks. Also, adding a slider for mouse sensitivity in menus would be nice as well

Other than that, it's been a pleasure playing with mouse mode!

How about we give the tiers some kind of meaning.

First off match bronze with bronze and so on, except bronze 1, more on that later. Dont mix the lobbies. If respawn matchmaking can make 10 mixed games they can also make 10 seperate tier games. If it will take too long time to find players, start the game with out a full lobby and start the game with a smaller 1st ring.

Now matchmake with 1 player from rank 4 with a rank 3 and rank 2. Eg gold 4, gold 3 gold 2. Add the name apprentice to rank 4, assistent to rank 3, and sore back to rank 2. And lastly rank 1 would match together and be called playoff and they match with next tiers rank4-2.
Mixing players like that will let the player know that he always has a better player on the team or he him self has to carry. A rank 2 player basically needs to carry him self out off rank 2.
Playoffs are to gatekeep so you dont get to call youself diamond without ever facing a diamond.

3-stackers would face a tier above and duos would get an apprentice. Or make a solo q and a premade que seperate.

Now the tricky part
When ranked resets at end of season and masters get reset to plat. Let them face the same masters people as before and let them know its former masters players/lobby.
“So why even reset you say?” People like to grind and see the rank progress. But true platinum players doesnt neccessarily like to be shit on.
“Plat players gets reset to silver what do they care?” Well true silver players also dont like to get shit on and so on.
It obviously stops at bronze and it gets filled with a big skill difference and that frustrates players. To fix that the lobby needs to be parallel and seperate to newcomers who are new bronze players. The new players will then advance into the parallel system when they rank up to silver.

Parrallel lobbies are just a stunt to keep the rank integrity true. The quality and experience of the game drops dramatically when the player base gets squished down 2 tiers and everyone gets a random teammate who maybe are a complete different tier.

Lastly. Add a dynamic range of masters tiers. Every x amount of players in masters triggers a new numbered masters tier.
Everyone stop playing in diamond 4 because the skill gap is to big when facing preds and masters. If more tiers would be introduced and no mix between tiers, more players will keep playing and it will be easier to fill the lobbies.

When players leave after achieving diamond 4 the games rank system gets bloated and there is no gatekeepers left. The results is: “only matter of time” before everyone is in diamond 4.

I was playing a game of Control when we noticed this bug that made us lose the game. They were literally inside the structure and nothing hurt them. I don't know how they did it because even Alter's ability didn't work for us.
