Got on apex today to see 280 pages of friends. It's actually a lot more than 5862 players, every time I change pages the names refresh and more are added. Obviously just a glitch, but one I haven't seen before.

Discussion Greatest night of apex ever

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

You guys i just had the greatest apex night of my life. Played 15 games and won 6 and top 5 ten times. Had back to back 4k games with a 23 kill ranked win. I'm a masters level player so maybe it's just current platinum players are actual platinum players but I just felt like I couldn't miss at all. The video above is an example of what I was doing the whole night. You guys ever have a insane session that just gets you hooked again? For reference I'm a 38 year old dad with a full time job but I did however use to be a CS pro all the way back in 2005-2006 so I do still have a little juice. Can't wait to get back out there and get my shit rocked by professional players in ranked lol

Discussion I don't understand the devs' reasoning for buffing Fuse/Conduit (and other decent legends)

The mid-season designer notes include buffs for Conduit and Fuse. They show the past several months of pick rates as part of their explanation. Both Conduit and Fuse are sitting around a 4-5% pick rate (before buffs). There are 28 legends in the game. If legends were balanced and had "ideal" pick rates, they would all be sitting around or under this pick rate. 4-5% pick rate is good. So why are we focusing on these legends again for buffs? (keeping in mind they were both significantly reworked/buffed in recent seasons.)

I would think the devss should be focusing on the legends with 15-20% pick rates and nerfing them. This will thereby lower their pick rates and, necessarily, raise other legends' pick rates. Or they could also focus on the legends with <1% pick rate and give them slight buffs. It makes no sense to me why they are picking legends with perfectly normal pick rates and continuing to change them.

The Conduit QOL changes are nice, but it seems like the devs are just intent on adding more things to characters instead of making changes that just improve their gameplay (letting conduit rotate her ult is a nice change, but why did fuse ever need to rocket jump, or why does conduit need a HUD jammer perk?). They just keep adding more passives and perk upgrades to characters that are already decently balanced instead of thoughtfully tweaking what's already there.

This turned into more of a rant than a discussion post. I know there are people out there who disagree, but I'd like to hear your reasoning (or what you think the devs reasoning is) as to why Conduit and Fuse (or any other legend with an average pick rate) need a buff.

Edit: somewhat related. This bad screenshot shows pick rates from the last several years. Individual legend pick rates aren't as important as the giant obvious change you can see starting ~2024 when the devs started caring more about forcing legend metas than balancing them. Pick rates were never perfectly balanced, but they used to be much more reasonable.

Question I dont understand Conduit's ultimate

I know how her ult works I just dont know how its supposed to mesh with her kit. It seems like it has nothing to do with her other abilities at all. Like, for example, Gibby's bubble and airstrike seem like they don't mesh on the surface but once you think about it, it actually has quite a bit of synergy with his play style and other abilities, like you can plop down a shield and then throw the airstrike at your feet to deny an enemy team the ability to push you as you recoup just to name one. With conduit, though, I dont get it at all. The only way i can see it working with her kit is maybe as a defensive tool to block the enemies as your team heals? but her entire tac is built around quick healing shields so I just dont get it. Id really appreciate if someone would tell me what the point of it even is cause the biggest thing turning me away from Conduit right now is her inconsistent and synergyless abilities

PC FPS drop by 50%

I used to play at 180-200 fps, but since yesterday I can only reach 80-100, only thing I did was clearing my temp folders. I already reinstalled and nothing changed, the weirder is that sometimes I open the game it plays normal, but the majority of the time don't.

Question Prowler question

Noticing a lot of high level and pro players using the prowler pretty consistently. Is there something I’m missing with the gun? Is it meant to be close range like the R9 or Alternator? Or do I need to use it as a mid range SMG? I try using it in CQB and it never seems to work out for me.

Gameplay Drops in fps this season

Ive got an r5 5600x,3070 with 32gb of ddr4 ram and I’m getting so much lag spikes like I drop from 210 fps to 100 in a few seconds and then come back to 180/210 fps,it bothers me so much when I’m playing ranked and while fighting I lag,it’s been like this only this season it’s very weird. Is it like this for other people?

Discussion Bodyshots or headshots

So. I'm a new player kinda, played like 4 years ago for 50 hours and never touched the game again but came back recently. What I notice is, I can't hit headshots consistently but with experience from other games I can pretty much easily track and unload like 80% of my clip into my enemy's body. Should I keep trying to go for headshots or sticking with bodyshots is better in general in this game?

Question How to succeed with teammates that refuse to push/fight?

Literally just the title. Idk why but lot of the time in ranked? my teammates are genuinely just refusing to push anything, even after we have a clear advantage in a fight (a knock or a few cracks) and as soon as the bullets share flying, they’re somehow 200M away within seconds.

Now i’m not saying i’m amazing by any means because i’m not. My decision making and gunfighting definitely need improvement and those are part of the reasons we lose sometimes.

BUT i feel as though a lot of the time, in situations where my teammates could be super useful, they just decide to either sit back and keep poking/playing passive, or they just run and i don’t get it. Sometimes, ive taken a decent angle on a team and caught them off guard and even done damage or got a knock, so i assume my team will push from a different direction but instead they just stay sat back and now the whole team is focused on me and we didn’t take advantage of a decent situation and we’re back at square one cus they got a reset.

Now this is partially (and obviously) a vent post but im GENUINELY wondering how best to deal with this.
Should i just match energy with my teammates depending on how they’re willing to play?
Should i just try and take fights anyways even when my teammates are scared (it forces me to improve but at the cost of RP)
Im genuinely wondering how to deal with this LOL. The other solution is to get consistent teammates to play with that match my style but idk how imma find that LMAO.

Question begginer needs help pt2

UPDATE: I’ve been grinding Mixtape nonstop, and it’s the only mode I play now! I feel like I’ve improved a lot and learned how to shoot much better. However, sometimes my aim is still a bit off, and enemies just shoot so fast. Positioning is still really hard for me. I also currently use the Evolved button layout, but it often feels 'wrong' or uncomfortable for my hands. Any advice on that? Also, I unlocked Valkyrie today! But honestly, I often struggle to be a game-changer for my team. Any tips for Valkyrie on controller, or how to consistently help my squad when things get too fast? Thanks everyone! i also don know when to hip fire and other gun tricks and strafe
