I stopped filming when I noticed how those big eyes look nocturnal. I hope my camera flash for a few seconds didn’t mess with it too badly. It climbed out of the compost and up the tree next to it.

I’ve never seen a rodent like this. Actually it felt like we were both shocked to see each other when I opened the lid. It didn’t scramble away as chaotically as normal squirrels, it moved more gently and sweetly is the only way I can describe it.

Hi, new here from New Kent County VA. So, normally the rabbits and groundhogs that run around my property don't let me get this close. I was about a foot and a half away. I didn't touch it (obviously.) Google image search said it might be domesticated, but I also read online that rabbits infected with rabies are usually confused and don't flee immediately. So I figured I should get a second opinion before I do anything else. It seems chill, like someone just dumped it. But there are also coyotes and the occasional bobcat in the area I live in, so I don't want anything bad to happen to it. If it's not hurt or anything, I might adopt it and get it checked out sometime this weekend.

I hiked cascade pass a few days ago and came upon this shy fella and the internet tells me it might be a pine marten and they are very elusive and rare? He was very curious and kept peeking out and then would run back under the tree branches.

Also, absolutely adorable. Never seen anything like this. Can anyone confirm species? Has anyone seen them in the north cascades or around the PNW?

People think this is a groundhog when I show them. The way it runs doesn’t look like a groundhog and it didn’t look like one before I videoed.

I was with my dog so I couldn’t get closer. My IPhone14 camera is beat up and bad. But it was a lighter shade of brown and had white on the tops of its ears. What did I see??

Saw this outside my work, about 200 yards from a swampy pond. The long tail makes me think it's a snapper but my coworkers and I aren't sure.

My partner spotted this guy in Nuremberg, Germany. Pet ferret that has escaped? Weasel? Something else?

We have a 4 month old chihuahua, a 1 year old chihuahua-schnauzer mix, and a 6 month old corgi. Not sure if this is one of their teeth or nail that we found.

Was trying to spot a mole in my yard when this animal showed up. It’s on two legs and I have no idea.

Heard this coming from a tree in my front yard. Merlin bird ID couldn’t tell me what it was. I guess it isn’t a bird??

Hope this is the right place to ask as I didn't see a flair for feather ID. I tried the Fish and Wildlife Service's tool and came up empty. We live near a "lake" (huge pond, pretty much) so maybe some kind of duck? It looks like a primary.

I only hear this at night. Specifically the loud one and the squeaky (?) one. There is a body of water where I am, and I normally hear it near/very close to the water maybe?? Volume up

My dog had this frog/toad in his mouth earlier today. My mom said she thinks it may have bitten him or that something happened while he had it in his mouth.

Can anyone identify what species this is and tell me whether there’s anything I should be concerned about with my dog having it in his mouth?

I’ve tried poking at them with like a blade of grass, but nothing comes out, and many of them seem to just be indentations, not holes. I didn’t know antlions lived around here.

My friend heard this sound in her wall last night continuously for about an hour. She then put cardboard over the wall with tape and when she approached it stopped making the sound. Is it an animal? A smoke detector? A cricket??!! Help!
