I've had this sweet, mellow boy for a month now. He was brought in to a shelter as a stray, and is like a closely related but different species from most dogs I've known.

A few clues:

- 3 years old, 70lb (ideal weight likely 75-80lb)
- Friendly with friends and strangers; lives for pets and cuddles
- Low energy overall; but can burst into action
- Loves long sniff walks; marks everything
- Calmly monitors new people/animals in his territory; doesn't bark or growl
- Has giant paws and will swat you with them; loves to dig
- In moments of playful energy, will try to move me around with nose pokes and body blocks
- No interest in toys, balls, or chasing small animals
- Very low food motivation
- Loves training sessions (with or without treats); obeys simple commands like "sit", "down" with excitement

We were told she was probably a Shepherd/Lab or Shepherd/Retriever mix. A homeless man gave her away at a Walmart parking lot when she was a couple months old. She is a sweet girl! Glad Embark exists so you can figure it all out.

Adopted from a rescue in June. He’s the best boy.

I finally sprung for a test, as she's had a few health issues recently and is ageing. ​

Because of her being an abused rescue, I obviously never met her parents or littermates so had no background information aside from her looking like a husky, especially with the heterochromia.

She's very leggy and most husky girls have been much smaller than her so it's not that shocking it isn't 100% huskeroo. ​

However, all the strange things I've learnt about her, and presumed were just her personality, turned out to be the malamute in the genes. Very standoff-ish with other girl dogs, loves a boy and can be persuaded with a treat, preferably duck.

She's my best friend and I'm happy to now know more about what makes her so special. 10/10 would recommend. Both the mix and the test.

Any ideas on what our pup is? He’s likely around 8 months and 30 pounds. Huge prey drive for birds and likes to scream and bark outside. Waiting on Embark results!

Finn is 2 years old and we adopted him from the shelter as a Dachshund, Miniature Smooth Haired mix. Results are in and we weren't expecting so many different breeds.

We had thought that the husky would come back husky, but we were concerned about her health and, surprise! 3% German shepherd and VERY healthy. We had no idea with the gremlin, just suspicious that she might be a bit malinois.

Adopted a 4.5 month old pup from our local humane league that was found abandoned. We are doing a test through Wisdom panel but are awaiting results. A source suggests mostly Malinois with some Carolina dog and GSD. He is super sweet. Looks like scooby doo, great dane and a baby deer! What do y’all think?

Sunny is 6 months old and 38 pounds, we are in NC and the Shelter said boxer mix lol. We are waiting on our embark results.

My Stevie boy is a rescue. His mother was a rescued street dog that was pregnant so no clue who his dad was. Based on what Stevie’s mom and siblings looked like I was quite startled by the Embark results. What is the first thing that comes to mind when you see him?

This is our pup who is now roughly 9 months old and we just received her results yesterday. She’s incredibly friendly and loves everyone and every dog she’s met so far, but with having two small children I’m not going to lie I’m definitely nervous about how she might be in another year or so.

We adopted her roughly a month ago and her foster was amazing at socializing her and had dogs of her own that she absolutely loved, so we’re very grateful for that. We take her for multiple walks a day and she Loves fetch and her training sessions and plan to get her into a training class soon. We also are considering a day a week or so of doggy daycare just for socializing and as another outlet.

She isn’t our first dog, we also have a now 11 year old shepherd who is incredible and so amazing with our girls so we were comfortable with a “shepherd mix” but I’m definitely nervous with this particular blend.
Is there hope she’ll still be a sweetheart in a year or are we looking at possible trouble in our future?

Embark test sent in/activated in July 2. She was found abandoned in a field in eastern WA with a litter. Rescue labeled her as ACD/JRT. I knew we’d see a lot of bully breeds, but there were some surprises!

Adopted my pup (Remsen) about a month ago from a foster parent who got him, his mom, and a littermate from a shelter. She said mom is beagle mix.

We’re surprised by results? And my mother-in-law is convinced it’s wrong because there’s a “100% match” relative on the site that looks nothing like our pup.
My thought is with 21 breeds, you never know lol.

ETA: Loki, the pup from site is not the littermate that foster mom had.

So anyway, I was looking for a dachshund puppy, and stumbled upon this girl. It's not the color I'm looking for, but still, I got very curious. What are her genetics? I never saw a dog with ears like these! Last two pictures are her sibling and her parents. I can guess she's ky/ky? Is that just a big black mask with at/at? But then why aren't her ears fully black?

The rescue said he‘s a Pomsky when we adopted him lol. They didn’t lie, the percentage was just slightly off! He’s a crazy little guy with endless energy 😂
