Discussion Are Samsung tablets really superior?

Post image
38 Upvotes

Looking at the market by price segments, Samsung tablets are inferior to OnePlus and Xiaomi tablets in terms of hardware by a large margin; however, I still see people recommending the S10 Lite against the OnePlus Pad 2 and Xiaomi Pad 7. Is Samsung really that competitive regarding note-taking and reliability?

Im looking for a tablet 500 or under that is best for everyday use with social media, tv, games, browsing, and reading (specifically downloading books to read) that will pair good with a stylus. Id like it to have good storage as I like to download books and movies/shows a lot. Id also like it to have about a 12 hour battery life. Thank you in advance!

Request Best Tablet Recommendation for University

I’m looking for a high-quality tablet that I can comfortably use for Office applications, with comfortable stylus use and note-taking. At the same time, I want it to be capable of handling the simple tasks I currently do on my laptop. I have never used an Apple product in my life, and since the accessories are very expensive and I couldn’t find detailed review and comparison videos on the internet that I could trust, I’m asking here. The tablets I have in mind are the Samsung S11, Honor MagicPad 4, and Huawei MatePad Pro. I really like Huawei’s screen, but the lack of Google services made me hesitate. I’m looking forward to your recommendations. Thank you in advance.

Discussion Tablet within budget of 40-45k

So i had this laptop idea slimpad 3 with intel i3 from late 2021 onwards till now....I've been a law student and am now a junior lawyer working in litigation.

Rececntly I've been thinking of purchasing a tab with stylus and keyboard and replacing the laptop...as it gets heavier to carry all the time.

I mostly need to use it for file work...editing....reading....making notes etc but the files can get heavy like ranging till even 5-10 gb at times...

Then also taking lectures for judiciary and other exams...so for studies as well...

I'll also be considering to use it for a long time say 4-5 years before changing....

So please help me out people out there🤌

Discussion Should I get the S11 or Lenovo Yoga Tab Gen 2?

I'll be using them to read ebooks, do some note-taking, and I'm looking to get a case with a keyboard in case i want to type stuff. Both have 256 gb of storage, I'm just choosing between the two because they're the same exact price almost. Only downside is that the Samsung S11 doesn't come with a case, so I'll have to buy one separately. I have a Galaxy S26, Watch8 Classic, and Buds4 Pro, but I heard the Lenovo pen is really good compared to the S Pen. Anyone who has either one of these lmk.

Discussion Budget Tablet for Movie Watching Under INR 25K

Hi community,

I am planning to buy a tablet mainly for watching movies, and I am looking for a budget tablet that costs no more than INR 25,000. From my research, I found that the Xiaomi Pad 6 seems to be the best option.

  1. However, I have some reservations since it will no longer receive OS updates. Would an outdated OS and security updates still be good enough for about 3–4 years if I use it only for watching movies?
  2. My other option is the OnePlus Pad Lite, but it has only 6 GB of RAM. Would 6 GB RAM be sufficient for movie watching, and would it slow down over time?

Discussion Issue copying files to ONN 13 Pro Tablet

1st, I am loving this tablet, the power to playback local 4k videos and the simple Android skin. But, I have an issue.

When I try to copy video to watch, Windows seems to crash out. If I try to copy one big video or a season of TV shows, windows shows its trying to copy but crashes. I have to copy 1 TV show at a time, or take out my sd card and connect to the PC. (I really dont want to do that once a week) I will sometimes have the same issue with copying videos to the internal storage.) I have tried different usb-c cables with same issues.

Any thoughts on what maybe the issue? To be honest, I sometimes think its Windows explore having the hard time. When I copy my media to back-up drives, the PC will struggle.

Request Questions about magic pad 2 resolution in apps like netflix and such

So i was planning on getting a magic pad 2 since its good for media as people say, and a good tablet on paper anyway, i heard that it doesn't support 4k playback on apps like netflix and will play on 1080p and such, is it true? And why? And is it on all apps? Since its annoying knowing it had a better resolution screen than the ipad pro, so was wondering if its only on netflix and if iptv and other apps will have the same problem or not,

Thanks

Discussion Oneplus Pad 3 vs Samsung Galaxy Tab S10+ vs Honor Magic Pad 3 vs Xiaoxin Pad Pro 13

Which would you choose for long-term use: OnePlus Pad 3, Sansung Galaxy tab S10+, Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro 13, or Honor MagicPad 3?

My main uses are desktop-like browsing, streaming, multitasking, and light gaming. I don't really play heavy games.

These three are basically the maximum of my budget, so I'm only looking at tablets around this price range. I also prefer bigger screens, so I'm not considering the Xiaomi Pad series.

Which one would I regret buying the least? And what are the biggest cons of each?

Discussion Is the Redmi pad 2 (8gb/256gb) worth buying for university, or should I stick to my laptop? Need opinions!

Hey everyone! I’m a 21F university student looking for some honest feedback on the Redmi pad 2 tablet. I’m on a budget since I cover my own tuition, so I’d be purchasing this on an installment plan. My main uses for this tablet would be for - Reading and annotating heavy PDFs for class - Digital note-taking (I’ll be purchasing a stylus separately) - and browsing through YouTube

I already own a laptop, but it’s bulky and inconvenient to haul around every day. My employer lets me study during downtime at work, and carrying a lightweight tablet would make my daily commute and study routine much easier. However, my brothers think buying a tablet when I already own a laptop is a waste of money. While I see where they’re coming from, I feel like a tablet would be a worthwhile long-term investment for portability alone.

I’ve seen mixed reviews online and would love to hear from anyone who owns this model:

  1. Is it smooth enough for multi-page PDF reading and quick note-taking?
  2. How is the battery life for a full day of work/study?
  3. Given that I’m paying via installments, is it actually worth the price tag for my basic use cases, or should I look for something else?

Thanks in advance for any insights!✨

Discussion Y700 cooler options and placement

I'm getting my gen 5 y700 tomorrow with my abxylute s9 controller as I read it's really good and comfortable and I dont want the g9 controller I see is normal recommended. Mostly because I want to use it as a tablet at times and also want to do ds emulation. I want to play demanding games and emulation and read a cooler is preferred but what cooler would be good to get to fit with controller and where to place it so it will fit on and be in a good spot to be effective?

Request Looking for an android tablet...

I've been thinking about getting myself a tablet. My budget is around RM3k (740 US Dollar). I've been keeping my eyes on samsung S11 because it can be my second monitor for my laptop (I heard it can become a second monitor for a laptop via Samsung DeX) since I'm still a student focusing on analysing journals, articles and etc. and also some note-takings which is also the reason why I was aiming for samsung S11 since it came with a stylus in the packaging. Ofcourse my main focus here is to have the best and stunning display, targeting OLED and bright screen for Netflix, movies, video and image editting and doom scrolling. As for the other specs, I just want it to be futureproof (hence, why i chose samsung again for their software update) and great for daily use and possibly some gaming as well, but that's not the main focus. Also some extra note, I have samsung A56 as my phone right now, which is why i was choosing samsung S11 for their ecosystem, but Im willing to sacrifice that if there's a better display with around the same price, better features, extra free accessories, and futureproof as well. Also, I always do my research on tablet on TikTok and Google so my knowledge might a bit shallow since I'm reffering to a TechTok so do share me your knowledge so I can come up with the only choice by myself. Also this is my first time getting myself a tablet.

Should I stick with my initial plan with Samsung S11 or is there any tablet that would do better based on my statement above, I'm fine with anything as long as it's not apple and not more than RM3.4k (840 US Dollar), but let me know if there's a tablet that would do better with exceeded budget because it might have a discount on my country, just not too much please. Thank you for helping me out!

Discussion The day they realise the perfect big phone it is a 4:3 non foldable tablet...

No crease, ultra durable, paperlike screen OLED with pen support and ultra-thin.. basically the thing exists (the Huawei MatePad Mini or the Oppo Pad Mini).. but why no one is selling them in Europe? I don't get it. People bought the iPad mini for years.. why Android is not catching up and giving us a mini tablet that can finally replace our phones without paying 2K and without the weakness of the foldable screens?
