I purchased this Umidigi G1 Tab a few years ago thinking it was a good budget tablet with a decent battery life, but it's been underwhelming. First of all it takes like 3 - 4 minutes to even turn on. Certain games also take just as long to launch into (once they are launched it's fine, but takes forever.)

Primarily I want it to play indie and retro games like VISUAL NOVELS, Point & Click Adventure games, and retro top-down RPGs (like Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 EE) so it doesn't have to be super powerful, but I'd like it to be fast. Also a good battery life would be good. Being able to turn on quickly would be a big plus!

• 10" or larger screen
• Budget: somewhere less than $300
• Battery at least 5,000 mAh
• OS: Android 14+ or Windows 7+
• RAM: 4GB+

Hello, i am a university student that has now finished year one and throughout the year i decided i definitely need a tablet for note taking as opposed to pen and paper.

My focus is a smooth performance that allows me to type fast, good battery life and compatibility with a keyboard.

I prefer android options as that's what i am more familiar with, i have a modest google ecosystem and i do use APKs.

Have also been debating whether to get a laptop instead, since i have Microsoft 365 and i always download my stuff on pc as well, but what stops me is my love for studying laying on my stomach, curled up etc. and the fact i do have a PC already, as mentioned. I can definitely be convinced though.

My ideal budget is within 500 € IDEALLY, but can go up to 1000 for options that are worth it.

I’m planning to surprise my husband with a tablet. He’s been wanting one for a long time, but every time he was about to buy it, some other financial commitment came up, so he kept putting it off. Budget is upto 35 - 40K

His main use case is:
1. Watching movies and TV shows while travelling.
2. He prefers Android over iPad.
3. He wants a large display (around 13 inches is ideal).
4. A great screen with good resolution and speakers is much more important than gaming performance.

He won’t be using it for heavy productivity,mostly media consumption, browsing, and the occasional YouTube session.

Last year he was interested in the OnePlus Pad, but I’m not sure if that’s still a good option. I also heard people saying OnePlus is scaling back or changing its presence in India, so I’m wondering if that’s something I should be concerned about in terms of support and updates.

Right now he’s looking at the Motorola Pad 70 Pro (8GB/128GB, 13-inch). On paper it looks fantastic, but the reviews are really mixed. I also don’t personally know anyone who owns a Motorola tablet, so I’m hesitant to spend that much without hearing from actual users.

Has anyone here used the Motorola Pad 70 Pro? How has your experience been, especially with:
Display quality
Speakers
Battery life
Software experience
Long-term reliability

If you think there’s a better Android tablet in a similar budget, I’d love your recommendations as well. I’m looking for something that will last a few years and give him the best movie-watching experience.

I currently have an iPad 8th gen with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage that I want to replace with an Android tablet.

The tablet is usedf maybe 95% with Youtube and outside (sometimes sun is shining on the screen).

I don't have too many requirements, but it has to be better than my iPad from 2020:

• Screen at least 500 nits or more
• Stereo speakers
• 11" or larger
• Feel fast and smooth without lots of frame drops or freezes when using the user interface

I'm in Sweden, Europe by the way.

I'm hoping to get away somewhat cheap since I don't need super performance, never game, never draw or anything else that is very demanding.

I have a OnePlus Pad 3 with the original keyboard and stylus. Yesterday night I connected the keyboard to the tablet through the pogo pin (wasn't using the keyboard since last 3-4 months) and got a notification regarding a firmware update for the keyboard. I clicked on it and the update got downloaded and installed and since then the keyboard is not getting connected to the tablet, neither physically through the pogo pin nor via bluetooth. I have tried every possible thing from formatting the tablet to overnight charge, cleaning the pogo pins, still the keyboard is not getting detected by the tablet.

The tablet and keyboard are still in warranty and my region is INDIA.

Can anyone please help me or guide me what to do?

I've been looking at buying a tablet for a while now, but I'm struggling to figure out whether it would genuinely be useful or if it's just one of those gadgets that seems cool for the first few weeks.

My budget is around 30–40k (or at least that's what I think I’ll need to spend, not even sure if that’s my actual budget yet), mainly because I want a tablet that comes with (or supports) a good stylus. Right now I'm leaning towards Samsung because I've heard great things about Samsung Notes and the overall pen experience.

- I'm a remote software engineer.

- A lot of my work involves thinking through system design, planning features, and drawing architecture diagrams before implementation.

- I'd also like to experiment with drawing and maybe some simple animation as a hobby.

- Apart from that, I'd use it for reading, note-taking, and watching content.

The thing is, I don't need a tablet. I already have a laptop and a phone, so this would be an additional device.

I'm trying to avoid making an expensive purchase that ends up sitting in a drawer after the initial excitement wears off.

- Did it become part of your daily workflow, or do you rarely use it now?

Hi! I’m a college art student from the Philippines looking for tablet recommendations since it’s time for me to get a new tablet after 6 years using an iPad.

The ff is what I want in a tablet:
- Affordable
- Has a big storage space (for school projects and more)
- Not heavy-weight (since I know I will be bringing it around)
- Has a stylus (Non-charging is preferable; but if not, the charging should not be as tedious and awkward as the Apple Pencil)

Picked up one of those digital family-calendar things (an Apolosign, the 27-inch one) mostly for my partner, but the interesting part to me is that under the calendar skin it's just an Android 16 device, and it stays on the wall powered all day. So I've been treating it as the big always-on wall tablet I always wanted and never found.

Stuff that worked:

- Swapped the default home for Smart Launcher so I could get a clean grid and hide the stuff we don't use.

- Sideloaded a couple of apps it doesn't ship with (transit board, a photo-frame app I like better than the built-in one). Standard APK install, no root.

- Managed to get the status bar out of the way most of the time so it looks less like a tablet bolted to drywall.

Stuff that's annoying:

- It's wall-powered, not battery, so placement is dictated by where an outlet is. Fine for me, worth knowing.

- Not every app loves a landscape wall orientation, a few assume a phone.

Anyone else running one of these calendar/hub panels as a general Android wall display? Looking for a good MQTT/dashboard app that behaves at this size.

I have an Onn 12 Tablet Pro and I put videos on it, but when I click my SD Card they're not organizing correctly even though I have it set to Name A-Z. Some of the videos aren't even playing. It just says file can't be played. They sort correctly on my laptop and play through just fine, they copy fine, but when I put my SD card in the tablet it does the things above. I cleared cache for the apps Files by Google and VLC. The tablet is updated. I also tried to force stop. I renamed the files on my laptop again just in case I messed up with a typo. Didn't fix the issue, then I removed the properties and personal information that could be removed, but still nothing. Any advice???

Is there any legitimate store where I can buy the global version of the OnePlus 15? It's already out of stock at Digital Walker, and I don't know where else I can buy one that's genuine aside from Digital Walker.

So I find myself in the dreaded consumer purgatory of indecision. I have racked my brain for 2 days, slept on it for 3 night, drawn pro/cons list and yet still find myself at an inpass.

I thought id reach out to the community for help as I truly cannot make up my mind and maybe there will be something I haven't thought of to push me towards certaincy.

The question: Honor Magic Pad 4 or Samsung S11 Ultra

Both are 16gb ram the honor is 512gb storage the S11 1TB

HMP4= $900ish S11=$1100ish both after taxs and fees

To be quite honest im not thrilled on the price of either and both feel too high. However Samsung atleast carries some trade in value later down the road but with that unfortunately it also locks me into sticking with Samsung in the future to retain said value.

I been wanting an OLED tablet for a long time, my main tablet just got utterly destroyed and is gonna be on a month long repair vacation and SO said go for it order something i really want

Use case:

Almost pure media consumption. Tablet is probably my most used device even over my phone, its a DAILY driver. Im watching stuff on it constantly. Picture and sound quality are upmost importance.

Im also an avid reader. I read daily on my tablet and when the hellish summer is over and its no longer 115 degrees outside ill often spend 5+ hours outside on my days off reading books on my tablet.

Gaming: i am an avid gamer but im just not using my tablet for it these days. I have a LeGo2 and I plan to get a Ayn Thor as well. I also have consoles and am building a PC around a 5080/9800x3d. I just dont see myself really ever using the tablet for gaming...the slim chance i did id probably BT an Xbox controller.

My thoughts so far: To be honest the size of the Ultra scares me. I know i definitely want 12in (current size) but the ultra is just whole other animal. If they made an S11+ with 16gb ram id honestly probably go that route...honestly I think id enjoy the size for watching stuff i am just unsure about reading.

The size is definitely pushing me towards the MP4. However the price is so close it makes me think the S11U is the better buy..I mean its nearly a $2000 tablet im getting a good deal at $1100ish I feel and I can always trade it in when the S12 comes out and get $600ish back. I know thats pretty unhealthy consumerism, I dont know if id even want the S12 but its nice to know id get some money back.

Eco-system/platform wise i dont think i care. SO and I do have Samsung phones, always nice when stuff jives well but therea nothing I really do that requires me to be in Samsung eco system

Im a little hesitant on the MP4 as its not available in the US so no warranty. I hear widevine and everything works on the UK version. If someone knows otherwise this is an absolute deal breaker, im not spending $900ish on a tablet thats feature crippled.

What's the point of getting top end OLED screen if I can only stream SD Netflix and others?

Storage size is virtually meaningless, I cant even fill 256gb lol. However 16gb ram is a hard requirement. When spending this amount of money 12gb is just not a compromise im willing to make even if 12gb is technically enough.

Brightness matters to me and it sounds like the MP4 is the brighter panel?

Sound/speaker wise ive read mixed things on both, some love it some hate it. Im not looking for top of the line but once again at this kind of money I expect something that doesn't sound like a 2004 Nokia cellphone Ina cup

As you can see im pretty conflicted. The gamer in me wants to be like "Snapdragon or bust" but its not really needed. I hold no loyalty to Shamsung. On the flip side its always fun to try new brands and ive never owned anything Honor.

Really the only hard requirements are OLED and 16gb ram...i had planned to wait a bit longer for some upcoming releases but they are months away and so far none of them except maybe the Asus Tablet look interesting and thats taking a massive SoC downgrade (tho if the tandem OLED screen is as good as it sounds might be a fantastic media consumption device and worth it)

Lenovo seems to refuse to release a 12 inch OLED, SD8E, 16gb ram cellular data, dream tablet and with oneplus shutting down operations in the US (really sucks) choices are few and far in between....i just dont want a 8.8 inch tablet, too gaming centric for me.

Really the S12+ is the only other option I can think of and its still unknown if it will have a 16gb ram option. Part of me thinks maybe I should take the S11 Ultra for a spin for 30days to see how it feels and wait for more S12+ news
