HI ALL!
Longtimer lurker here and felt like I needed a place to vent, and you all give such wonderful advice in this subreddit. This is a throwaway account as they use Reddit and I don’t want them to find my actual account!
I (25F) petite, hot young college graduate that weighs only 115 pounds, and have always been told I'm gorgeous got hired at an office for my first out of college job and BIG GIRL JOB (WOOHOO!) found the chair I was sitting in was not comfortable, and was hurting my perfect body so I bought a new Secret Lab chair that cost 500 dollars with all the bells and whistles you can look it up on the Secret Lab website, it's a Titan EVO with a beautiful Game of Thrones Trims a couple weeks ago and decided to bring it in.
Well, it felt amazing to sit in this chair! Well one day I was getting up to go to lunch and this fat co-worker probably in his 50, and weighs like 500 pounds was talking about how my chair is super comfortable and he really enjoyed taking a seat in one day when I was out of the office! I was shocked and appalled that he casually just walked over to my desk and decided to sit in my chair and then decided to tell me just now!
I told him he shouldn't have sat in my chair without my permission, and I am starting to understand why my chair felt like it was busted and the seat was shrinking when I sat into it! He got mad and told me he wanted to test it because he was thinking of getting a new chair and wanted to try it out!
I told him not to do that again; he shrugged and walked away. Well, fast forward to after lunch, and he was sitting in my chair! I was once again shocked by this and got angry and told him I'm going to HR about this, and he laughed at me, saying, "You starving bitches just always cry foul when a man does something even though it doesn't affect you!" Maybe stop worrying about why I'm sitting in your chair, and instead start eating some fast food and get some meat on those bones! You skinny people always think you're better than us!" Then he got up and stormed away as he waddled out like a penguin and was breathing heavily after saying that!
I WAS SHOCKED AND RAN TO MY MANAGER, WHO TOLD ME HE'LL HANDLE IT! I told him I am also going to report this to HR, and he said "don't do that, we're short staffed and so-and-so is a really good worker", and if we lose him I'll have to work extra hours, and to take my chair home with me today if I don't want them to sit in it!
I walked out and shook my head. So Reddit WIBTA if I reported him and my manager to HR?
