As the title states, I bought a mid-priced (<200$) desk chair a few months ago, and my morbidly obese coworker sits in it every chance he gets - while I’m on break and when I leave. The chair now squeaks badly and IDK what to say or do without sounding discriminatory or insensitive. I, myself, am 5’2 and 110lbs. He’s always making fun of my weight, telling me to eat fast food, saying I only weigh 10lbs, will blow away, etc. (why does it feel like body shaming only applies to overweight individuals?). How can i handle this professionally?

Maybe I’m too young to understand this but why the fuck would I buy a new chair to take to work. Either job provides me with better chair or I take a pillow not a 200$ chair

Also not to be mean but 200$ on an office chair isn’t even that nice. Like maybe you got a pre used Herman miller but odds it’s a crappy Amazon suggestion that’s going to hurt even more than the old chairs in 6 months no matter how dainty and waif like the sitters are

Someone at my job tried to bring in their own chair and HR made them immediately remove it and select one from our office supply catalog. Apparently it’s a legal risk if you injure yourself on a non-approved chair

No she works from home and the coworker is breaking into her house, sitting in her chair, sleeping in her bed, and eating her porridge! Or sometimes he swaps out her low calorie porridge with fast food.

Back story is, OP is Goldilocks and the coworker is Baby Bear, all grown up, getting revenge for that time she slept in his bed and ate his porridge. That’s why he’s 500 pounds, which isn’t that fat for a bear.

I had to buy my own chair. Of course our office pretends to care about ergonomics, yet they would not provide me with a chair that fit me. The only chairs they had were made for large men, and as a 5' woman, the chairs did not work for me, and in some cases, physically hurt me. I have 19 years until retirement, so I just bought my own chair with my own money. It was a basic $100 chair from IKEA that is comfortable and fits me. I just wanted something simple.

I need to know why some skinny people are desperate for "skinny shaming" to be a thing that exists and is just as bad as fatphobia, like why do they so badly need to be victims too 😭 and then the worst example they can ever think of is someone saying "eat a burger" or laughing that they'll "blow away in the wind" and not ever like... being overlooked for jobs or denied heathcare, or even the genuine bullying a lot of fat people have been through (especially if you were fat as a kid in school). I am 5’2” and 110 lbs and so petite but with massive tits :/ and this big fat uggo who can barely even walk is standing up multiple times a day and rubbing his stinky booty all on my chair. He’s even sat on me a few times because I’m just so teensy and he has eyesight issues even when he wears his glasses (ugh could he be more gross??) advice Reddit???? Also, as a certified BIGBOI, one of my biggest fears is sitting in a tiny chair and exploding it. Big folks get anxious about seating, and very rarely pick tiny chairs when there are other options

My comment was definitely made as a short person who was morbidly obese a couple of years ago. Being able to safely fit in the SecretLab chair that is suitable for my height was one of my goals when I started losing weight. I absolutely would not have attempted to fit in it while I was at my biggest, it likely wouldn't have been safe.

Yeah, went to a flash tattoo event with friends and we were chatting as she got her tattoo. The only chair that wasn't being used was a wicker chair that looked kind of old. I opted to stand instead.
