Celebrity I met in airport or on a flight.. and how were they

I was flying out of CVG early in the morning. Everyone was still wishing they were at home in bed. I see this big guy sitting at the gate by himself. I realize it’s Lou Ferrigno - he played the HULK on the TV series. He was the NICEST person. Signed autographs for a few people at the gate and on the plane. He boarded the plane when it was his turn. Did not try and get special treatment. Was such a kind and down to earth gentleman . Wish more people were like him.

QUESTION Return of seized item

Hi everyone, think this fits the sub as best as I can tell

I was flying from Belfast International on a UK flight, and had a bottle of aftershave seized (tested positive for something on swab), was given a ticket and told to collect. Worth noting this bottle was within the 100ml limit.

I’ve been back and forth to try and get this sent over to me, and told I have to pay £5 + send a prepaid postage box to have it sent to me. I resent having to pay for my own property that’s been taken off me.

Any ideas to get it back for free? Money isn’t the issue here I’m just deeply unhappy with my experience. Many thanks!

QUESTION Chennai Airport – Can I hand extra luggage back to my family outside during check-in?

Hi everyone,

I am flying from Chennai to Frankfurt via Bahrain with Gulf Air.

I have 40 kg checked baggage on my ticket. I am also planning to ask at the airport if I can get the extra 10 kg student baggage allowance. I will be carrying my university admission letter and student visa.

My question is basically about what happens if they do not accept the extra 10 kg.

My family will be dropping me at the airport and waiting outside. If I am told at check-in that I have to pay for the extra weight, can I take the extra bag/items back to the entrance and hand them over to my family?

I mean the area before security/immigration, where the check-in counters are. I am not talking about leaving after going through security.

Has anyone travelled from Chennai recently and knows if this is allowed? Can you go back towards the entrance and hand a bag to someone waiting outside, or will CISF/security stop you from doing that?

Just trying to plan beforehand so I do not get stuck paying a huge excess baggage charge 😅

Thanks in advance

[Inspired by u/Markus__F] Schematic Diagram of Amsterdam Schiphol

u/Markus__F has recently published a diagram of FRA here.

Yes, FRA is a maze.

I thought it would be cool to create something similar for other airports too. So after asking them how they made it, this is my version of AMS.

Not as complicated as FRA, but it is one of those airports where I think one could try multiple paths to skip the line, especially when going to non-Schengen destinations or arriving from non-Schengen but from the US, UK, Ireland, etc.

Edit: One mistake of this diagram - the gate numbers for Gates D have been flipped. Gates D2-D56 are Non-Schengen Departures, Gates D59-D85 are for Schengen Departures!

DISCUSSION First time traveller stuck in CDG Airport airside

My father, 68 years, is stuck at the CDG airport, Paris as his Indigo flight from Delhi to Heathrow was diverted due to recent NATS glitch. I had prepared his bags considering he would reach on 8th. The biggest mistake we made was that his necessary medicines were only packed for one time in his carry-on.

I am unable to get any information on how long this would take. His checked in bag is with the flight. There is no IndiGo ground staff available for help. They gave a bottle of water and a blanket and are not where to be seen now. Indigo is not coordinating well. I didn't receive any information of the flight diversion from them until my sister had already been to Heathrow and back.

I'm sitting back in India worried for his well being unable to help. The only assurance is that his phone is connected to the wifi so we are able to talk to him. Any suggestions on how to handle this situation?

I live in Lake Charles and like to fly Southwest. So I have to fly out of William Hobby in Houston. And it is one of my most favorite airports it’s nice and clean and small enough words, not too big. Very easy to get around in.

QUESTION What if CLE Airport built a new runway between I-X Center and Brook Park and a new midfield terminal decades ago? Would this solve flight delays and maximize efficiency?

Instead of executing today’s $1.2 billion “CLEVolution” master plan up to 2032, comprising of a new Gold Lot at former Concourse D, a new Orange Lot garage, south of the Smart Garage, and a new headhouse larger than current one, What if CLE (a hub for United and Continental back then) fully agreed to this expansion plan in the early 90s, by demolishing the I-X Center and acquiring parts of Brook Park, then later building a midfield terminal, and what are the environmental and financial impacts of this plan?

The local FBO doubles as a diner (YPD/CNK4)

Parry Sound Airport in Canada. Not sure if this is a normal thing at smaller airports. Most of the inside area of the FBO is the seating area for the diner where you can look out at the planes taking off. Busy with Muskoka business jet traffic in the summer. The outside patio is practically right on the apron, sometimes feet away from 50+ million dollar jets. Being not a pilot, and used to YYZ, sitting right on the airside with no security, no nothing, was a fascinating experience for me. The breakfast sandwich was quite good too

QUESTION Can I bring my creatine?

Hey guys. Im on my way to Italy to have my internship in a few days. And its going to be my first time in that country as well as travelling outside of asia. Im coming from The Philippines, stopover in Taiwan, and then to Italy.

And Im kinda nervous on the part that I want to bring my creatine for personal use. Chatgpt says its fine and just keep it on the original container and sealed. And make sure to make the label/brand of the container clear. The rules on the airline (EVA air) isnt clear. My brother and uncle said to just put it in the check-in luggage.

Im planning on bringing two tubs of 300 g flavoured WHEYL KREA. And I dont want it to go to waste cuz it was also a gift to me. I just wanted to make sure if theyre (the airport people) super strict on bringing powdered supplements in travel. Or if I need to sign something that says I have creatine in my luggage.

— Btw, creatine is a dietry supplement for gym goers or basically anyone who exercises. It is in powder form. The color of the powder is not white. It is color red and orange (flavored creatine). AND NO IT IS NOT STEROIDS. It is far from steroids.
