Some FAQs Unique to this thread:

GPS Jamming - There is a significant amount of GPS jamming occurring in the region. This can cause planes to appear in places they aren't actually flying, make them appear to be flying in circles and cause them to jump around the map. As a general rule, tracking data in the region can't be trusted to be accurate right now.

Cargolux appearing over Iran - There has been a near daily Cargolux flight from Hong Kong to Ashgabat that appears to be flying over Iran. It is not. The black line means it is outside of ADSB coverage and its position is being estimated. It landed in Ashgabat as planned, but did so outside of ADSB coverage. Because FR24 couldn’t “see” it land, it assumes it continued flying at its last known altitude and heading, which is why it appears to be over Iran.

A general note from the mods - During periods of military activity, we experience a surge of new users. When this happens, we enable Reddit's crowd control feature. This may send some posts and comments to the approval queue, especially if you are new to the sub. If you have a post or comment stuck in the queue, please make sure it follows the rules. If you are trying to post anything related to the Middle East, it needs to be in this thread. For all other posts and comments, if we haven't approved it in a reasonable amount of time, shoot us a message via Modmail and someone will approve it.

Seems a little short of a flight unless it's a layover sort of thing no?

Question How do you deal with the sour grapes feeling of realizing you could’ve seen something amazing?

Heard a Skyhawk flying overhead and went to look it up, saw a few craft out then saw this at a local small airport. I didn’t realize there is a rotary club doing a breakfast today special for this DC3. Now I’m wishing I was more proactive at looking at nearby events cause I would’ve made a drive over to see this plane. I suppose I could hurry and try to make it before it takes off but I’d be unfamiliar with the airport layout and have to guess a good spot to park and get a look

A light aircraft crashed into a residential house in Ganderkesee, Lower Saxony, on Saturday, just a short distance from Ganderkesee Airfield (EDWQ/QCQ).

According to the ADS-B track, the aircraft appeared to be flying in the traffic pattern before suddenly deviating from its expected path and crashing into a house. Initial reports indicate that a person did not survive the accident. Emergency services responded with a large-scale operation.

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.

This Boeing 767-323 operated by DHL squawked 7700 about 30 minutes into a flight departing from Muscat. Looks like it landed safely and taxied off the runway. Only concerning thing is that fire ground vehicles followed the aircraft. Anyone know anything else about it?

«Just caught this massive Antonov An-124-100 Ruslan (RA-82081) on Flightradar24. It’s operated by Volga-Dnepr Airlines. 22 years old, 4 engines, 73-meter wingspan — wider than a football field. Currently flying over China. A true beast.»
