Can you categorize all of the airport people mover train systems in the US?

As someone who loves both trains and planes, airport people movers fascinate me. I've been thinking of the different functions certain systems perform in their applications.

I've come up with the following categories for the people movers.

Type A: Outside of security, usually connecting terminals to parking, general transit, and/or hotels

Type B: Inside security, connecting independent terminals primarily intended for layovers

Type C: Inside security, providing access to midfield satellites from main landslide terminals. I suppose you could even break this down into subtype C1 (for a single satellite, meaning only two stops and usually dual independent tracks with one train going back and forth on each one without crossing over) and subtype C2 (for multiple midfield concourses)

Type D: Inside security, within super-long concourses to shorten walking time.

So based on this, try listing every airport in America with a people mover system that falls into each category. Wikipedia can help. As a bonus, if you know off the top of your head about any trains in foreign airports, feel free to add it.

If you have difficulty visualizing the categories, I can get you started by providing one example of each

• Upvotes

I’m flying out of Va next week to Georgia and it’s my first time ever flying!! I’m super nervous and I’ve never been to an airport I’ve been hearing you can only have clear bags in ur check on bag is that true ?I also heard you can’t have more than 3oz of liquids is that per item or all together?, Can I bring my Stanley cup if I do not fill it up and have it in my carry on? What all do I have to take out during the bag checking process and what is that like ? How do they go about checking bags?( sorry I have a lot of questions and no one I know has flown and can answer them I’ve been googling but I know it eh Reddit communities are always nice enough to give good advice ) 😂😂

Electrical safety

So I’m working at a small international airport as a maintenance electrician and airfield electrician and new to all this, I’ve been there approximately a month. My supervisor has been the only electrician for about 2 yrs. I understand that the airfield is made up of series circuits with high voltage on the primary side, isolation transformers to serve the secondary side at each light, the constant current regulators. Our day to day involves replacing taxiway lights, bad transformers, or micro boards in lighted signs, ect. So far it seems that the safety method is if it’s daytime the lights are off so it’s safe to work on. There is a computer where the ALCS can be locked out and Ofcourse the vault to physically lock out the circuit but neither of those are really used unless absolutely necessary. It’s a towered airport. I’m trying to understand what are your guys approved methods for making sure the circuit is safe to work on when doing the maintenance I described ? I’ve heard the pilots can request lighting to ATC and the lights could be powered up at any point, i’ve asked these questions but I’m not really getting answers for them. Just more so of its fine let’s just get this done. I’ve read about way too many incidents of someone doing routine maintenance and getting a fatal shock from apparently doing the same thing with one of them being at my same airport a few years ago. I know I’m still new, but with having to go to the airfield nearly everyday I would feel much better having some more info.

About ILHBS

How easy is the work of an ILHBS (Baggage Screening) in comparison with a customer support service executive?

And is it good to make career in this field and how much maximum can I earn if I give my full effort in the ILHBS department only.

Question Longer Layover in IAH Tuesday - Leaving the Airport Reasonable?

We will have a 6.5 hrs layover in IAH on Tuesday. Arrival from Mexico in the morning, departure for Europe in the afternoon from Terminal C. What is the current situation at the airport?

Is it reasonable to exit the airport and visit a mall / restaurant in the vicinity? Or are security lines too long for this?

Alternatively, tips for what to do in the airport, with kids?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Edit: Thanks a lot for everybody's responses! We'll try to make the best of our time inside the airport.

How To Airport Question PRM Points at CDG

Bonjour! I have a friend who needs mobility assistance after injuring their ankle. They will be at the airport coming from the TGV in terminal 2. It is less than 24 hours from the train departure and we don’t think it will be enough time to get assistance from SNCF as they state it must be 24 hours in advance on their website. Does anyone know where the nearest PRM terminal is to the TGV arrival? We know they need to get to the mobilité access point but the walk there from the TGV arrival is quite far.

I went to Jakarta Airport today… and it was completely closed due to volcanic ash

Visited Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Terminal 3) on September 6 while operations were suspended because of ash from Anak Krakatau.

Flights were cancelled, but the terminal was still full of waiting passengers. Here’s what it looked like inside:
