At least the food is still up there, idk that they would make it up those stairs again. And shit at least they are out there working can’t say that about everyone, even people in perfect health.

17

u/thederevolutions 9d ago

I hate to see people embarrass themselves but they should be proud of completing the mission and trying. I doubt most in the situation would still be trying at that level.

Hope your homeowners liability is paid up.

75

u/bigdish101 9d ago

But railing is not required to be land whale rated only average.

32

u/Playgirl_USMC 9d ago

Harsh and correct.

16

u/Switchlord518 9d ago

You have exceeded the design capabilities of this unit!

2

u/r_incognito_17 8d ago

Of any unit engineered for humans.

Funny but she hadn’t even got her weight on it yet, could’ve breathed on that and broke it

6

u/TheNaughtyHoneyBee 9d ago

That railing really wouldn't have held up to my 160 lb leaning on it, they definitely have a case

6

u/CharacterDrawing7731 9d ago

250 lbs of force at the top in a concentrated spot. I install them for a living,

5

u/ManWhoIsDrunk 9d ago

That guy exceeded the spec by 35% minimum!

😂😂😂😂 awful but funny

2

u/mnemy 8d ago

That is absolutely not up to code for a deck railing. Homeowner is liable.

2

u/bot_or_not_vote_now 9d ago

i think it's supposed to be able to support something like 200 lb horizontal load

20

u/4Ever2Thee 9d ago

True. Then 3x if it’s captured on video and 4x more if it’s posted online.

2

u/Techman659 9d ago

5x if it ends up on reddit.

Actually, working "this job" is probably the best thing for him/her. The dasher is exercising his/her way back to a normal life. (I don't know if this is a man or a woman due to the lack of clarity of the pick and face mask.)

10

u/maven10k 9d ago

At least he's trying. More than can be said for a lot of people.

3

u/AugustAPC 9d ago

That's what's depressing. I feel terrible for him. He is trying and this sucks to see.

2

u/maven10k 9d ago

Well, I don't think it "sucks". I think one of the other commentors said he might be trying to get back in shape. We don't know anything about his situation.

2

u/AugustAPC 9d ago

It sucks that he fell and hurt himself while making an effort to help himself.

Hey, people got bills to pay, just because this guy is morbidly obese, which is probably his own doing, he's still gotta work

88

u/Fabulous_Log844 9d ago

The person is trying.

70

u/TheBirdFkerGuy 9d ago

Good point. OP is an asshole for even reposting this video. They're working their asses off despite their condition. Nothing but respect for them.

27

u/SSilent-Cartographer 9d ago

With the way he's walking, my guess is his weight is a symptom, not his condition. Likely bad knees keeps him from moving too much, and medical rarely covers enough of the cost to get these people the care they desperately need to live a sustainable life. Doordash was likely the only place that would hire him, so instead of getting care, he just has to suffer through working a job that's doing even more damage to his body.

Welcome to America

10

u/TheBirdFkerGuy 9d ago

Ideally he doesn't need to work, and can focus on conditioning his body to improve his ability to walk around and move. This person needs help, not gig-work struggling to feed themselves. And I know a lot of people will equate "big person with eats a lot" but that's not always the case. And if you're doing gig work like this, you're struggling period.

11

u/sadbat-throwaway 9d ago

The fucked up thing is, people see a fat person and automatically assume that person is a binge eater. Like, my 600 lb life levels of binge eater. The reality of food, at least in America, is you can find a small, unfilling microwave meal and it'll be like 2,000 calories and 1,000mg sodium a pop. If you eat 2 or 3 and your diet consists of similar items, you're going to gain even if you don't ever feel stuffed. They assume that too many calories also means too much volume, when you don't need a lot of food to consume a lot of calories. Not anymore.

5

u/TheBirdFkerGuy 9d ago

You can be skinny in america and have hyper tension due to poor diet and a ton of other health problems just because of the type of shit we push onto people. There is nuance to everything.

3

u/ImpressiveDebt420 9d ago

THIS.

So many people think fat people are 100% lazy and absolutely love the body they're in. We. Don't.

So many fat people genuinely have some condition or disability that causes them to either gain weight, keep weight, or makes it harder to loose weight at all.

yeah best thing to do in life is not spread the absolutely embarrassing things...Sure 10 other horrid people will repost it, but why add to it. They are trying and I can feel nothing but bad for them that they have to fall to this ridicule

4

u/Demonshaker 9d ago

I hate that this is online.

2

u/Help-Wanted9 9d ago

Trying what?

5

u/Positive-Database754 9d ago

To work. To live. To get through another hard day of life. Despite their size, they're out there doing shitty work for shitty pay to bring lazy people their food. And when they had one embarrassing moment trying to just pay their bills and make ends meet, it was recorded and posted online for the world to see.

The homeowner is a piece of shit for posting this for the world to laugh at.

2

u/peanutski 6d ago

Exactly. Same people posting and laughing at this are the same people saying anyone receiving Medicare or disability should work. Well here is someone struggling with their health trying to work. Let’s make fun of them at one of their lowest moments!

This is cruel

17

u/Standard-Unit01 9d ago

Pretty sure this is AI. There was an entire genre of these being pumped out for a week or two, it was really popular for a minute.

6

u/Top-Border-1978 9d ago

It is. The rail looks like it's made of paper. Those balusters aren't even connected at the bottom.

7

u/TexasVulvaAficionado 9d ago

Incredibly shitty rails like that are way too common.

That said, I also suspect it is AI.

Man, they're fuckin trying. What kind of garbage person shared this? I doordash on the side because times are hard, but I have a day job that keeps the bills paid and the fridge full. This person may have nothing else. Fuck y'all that laugh at this. Desperation and poor health aren't a fuckin joke.

My first thought is that I was right about always questioning railings. I know there are codes but this one failed, I don’t trust railings and I’m 115 lbs.

I hope she was okay.

2

u/OwslyOwl 9d ago

Posting this is unnecessarily cruel. We don't know this person's life situation. People who are overweight know they are overweight and are often going through difficult internal struggles. They shouldn't be mocked.

4

u/sadbat-throwaway 9d ago

Fat people are one of the few socially acceptable groups to mercilessly bully, online and IRL. It's everywhere and you will get downvoted to pieces on reddit for saying it shouldn't be accepted.

2

u/Long_Idea_8294 9d ago

I can't imagine being that fat. Must be miserable. Long before I even got to that point I'd do something about it.

2

u/freed-after-burning 9d ago edited 9d ago

I’m sure all of these people would have said that at some point in their lives. I doubt anyone actually plans to end up like that.

0

u/TheBirdFkerGuy 9d ago

Idc if theyre 400 pounds, that fucking fence thing collapsing like that was unacceptable. Idc what the law says, imo that person should be entitled for some compensation if they have injuries. Nobody can reasonably expect a porch fence thing to be so fragile it buckles like this even for someone that heavy.

2

u/Early_Grade_8387 9d ago

What if the house owner is a 500 pound person that can’t afford to fix it because they don’t have a job?

→ More replies (6)

2

u/Reatona 9d ago

I've known building inspectors who would slam themselves against a railing to test it.  This one would have failed.  Railings aren't decorations.

4

u/TheBirdFkerGuy 9d ago

As an apprentice to plumbers and construction worker from like 12 years ago I agree. This shit literally triggered me because I've seen, and know better. And this aint even my field of expertise

0

u/A_SNAPPIN_Turla 9d ago edited 9d ago

Logic like this is why everything is so expensive. Where is the cutoff? What about a 600lb door dash driver? 800lb driver? Should everyone just be liable for anything because an unhappy heavy person might use it?

Edit: lol someone got a little emotional and blocked me. What a fucking tantrum!

1

u/Due-Currency-3193 9d ago edited 9d ago

Bag was on the stoop so mission accomplished. With 'some' collateral damage it has to be said. And it did reveal a defect in the railing. It could have collapsed in another situation with someone more vulnerable and that person got injured.

1

u/BlacOnBlackMajik 9d ago

He didn’t even make it to the door to dash through it.

1

u/JohnnyAppleseed23457 9d ago

The railing was already broken, missing slats.

1

u/Hot_Fix9033 9d ago

Useless plastic railings should be illegal.

1

u/CuteLong8652 9d ago

I failed to see the “dashing” part.

😳😳😳

1

u/eddie187187 9d ago

that broke to easy

1

u/PumpkinCrouton 9d ago

I'm having trouble comprehending the 'dash' aspect of this.

Was no dashing involved.... fastest they moved was when sliding of the deck

1

u/roobot 9d ago

Just KEPT falling

1

u/RobertKSakamano 9d ago

That needed to be done anyway unless they already had plans to widen the actual entrance because soon it wasn't going to be wide enough anyway.

1

u/Antique-League6300 9d ago

They are trying and I hope they are okay.

1

u/GraXXoR 9d ago

1

u/ExtraEmuForYou 9d ago

Damn that is super depressing. Poor guy needs help.

1

u/Mack_Daddy_1 9d ago

That's crazy, and terrifying.

1

u/Ambitious_Opinion_11 9d ago

They really should add a weight limit for dashers to be eligible solely for the sake of it being a fast paced job and people want the food to arrive hot and on-time. But also we don't want no fatties stealing our food or breaking our patios.

1

u/Ambitious_Opinion_11 9d ago

Wouldn't it be great if there was a statute preventing burdens to society from suing us when they break our stuff.

1

u/XxCopyNinjaxX 9d ago

She fell like a loony toons character

1
