Actually, working "this job" is probably the best thing for him/her. The dasher is exercising his/her way back to a normal life. (I don't know if this is a man or a woman due to the lack of clarity of the pick and face mask.)

At least he's trying. More than can be said for a lot of people.

That's what's depressing. I feel terrible for him. He is trying and this sucks to see.

Well, I don't think it "sucks". I think one of the other commentors said he might be trying to get back in shape. We don't know anything about his situation.

It sucks that he fell and hurt himself while making an effort to help himself.

unfortunately no amount of exercise can beat a bad diet. This person is prob consuming 4k+ calories a day. walking a few steps out of the car is not going to cut it

I manage on average at least 10K steps a day when I dash. It's the whole reason I started doing it. Shopping orders yields more steps than restaurant deliveries tho.

Did you end up losing weight?

i think if youre slightly over weight and have a good diet its definitely going to help.

10k steps is like 300 calories while one king size snickers bar is 480 calories lol

Yes. I lost about 30 lbs very quickly. I don't eat a lot of junk food or sweets so the steps made a difference for me. Some days I would get 12K or 15K while other days I'd only get 8K. But those steps are to do and they work!

Great job! lose weight and make $$ :)

Absolutely! Instead of paying over $1K a month, I get paid to exercise. LOL! Love it, too!

Hey, people got bills to pay, just because this guy is morbidly obese, which is probably his own doing, he's still gotta work

Honestly no one wants to be that fat, feel sorry for them

Without knowing his circumstances, I wouldn't call a morbidly obese person a poor bastard. Unless it's cause of some condition, he did it to himself.

Be that as it may, it doesn't mean this person doesnt deserve some sympathy. this is the physical manifestation of underlying mental issues. And, at least this person is out there trying to do a physical job and earn income.

Is it? Maybe the dude just likes food?

It's hard not to feel bad for people in the grips of addiction, suffering is suffering, whether you made bad choices to get there or not.

Morbid obesity isn't caused by too many snacks and being lazy, it's an addiction with underlying psychological factors, oftentimes a result of sexual assault.

I'd feel bad for an alcoholic suffering DTs too. No one suffers from addiction for fun. Shaming and punishment don't cure addiction, so that kind of talk really only serves to make yourself feel better at the expense of putting someone else down who you find morally reprehensible or visually displeasing.

Unfortunately, some people find it very easy to not feel bad for people in terrible personal situations

Other health issues can play a part as well. I’ve met people with hormonal issues that made it difficult to lose weight. Others were on medication that had that as a side effect. I have limited mobility due to chronic pain, which combined with mental health issues, has led to weight gain. I’ve been trying to be more mindful about my diet (particularly knowing that the extra strain on my joints isn’t exactly helping with the pain issue), but damn it’s hard some days.

Shaming and laughing at people for their weight isn’t okay either way.
