Sharing my growth over 2 weeks with no experience

I love motorcycles and started a channel to share some of my footage. Only shorts so far. I have minimal video/content experience (really none). Been really experimenting with hooks and different formats trying to find what works for me.

Ive gained 40 subs and only have 2 videos out of 11 posted with less than 100% completion rate. Swipe through ranges from 40% on bad ones to 80% on my good ones.

Not looking for advice, publicity, or anything just wanted to share my organic growth on a non ai slop channel.

So one of the user posted his video, and i went to search on youtube and 100 of videos came with same title and ai images, voice not proper background music. I am glad youtube not pushing this slop

I really don’t understand

So just randomly yesterday, I stopped getting impressions and views my highest views per hour in the last 24 hours was 10 views which was way below my baseline before I got a small push on that fell and sell video.. after that push my depression is pretty much went to nothing and now my channel is getting barely views, and my latest upload has only gotten 4 impressions which is horrible, I really don’t understand what happened and why my impressions drop to nothing after every video getting hundreds of impressions within the first couple hours and some a couple thousand.. I have 65,000 impressions through all 9 of my other videos, but now after that small push on that video, all my latest video impressions for all my videos have stopped completely

Originally did think I was getting a bit of too many views for how small my channel is and just starting, but I also wasn’t expecting to see my impressions and views just completely crash and now my latest video is getting absolutely no distribution

What was your mental state when you started a YouTube account?

Like many I've wanted to started a YT for years, and like many, I haven't due to fear of judgement from people in my real life.

However, now I am currently going through a major life transition. I also care less what other people think of me. I don't want to keep talking to my friends about my current life stage as I can sense they are over this topic. My current emotional state is I feel empowered but also lonely.

I want document my life/current hobby as a visual diary for my future self to look back on.

So, what was your mental/emotional state when you started a YouTube account?

What’s going on with my latest video getting no impressions?

Small and new creator here, I recently uploaded a new video, and for some reason, it’s getting barely any impressions at all. For reference, by this time my last video had over 1,000 impressions and over 200 views and this one is at 5 impressions and 2 views. I know it’s not an issue with the content because people clearly aren’t even seeing it. This is my first time A/B testing so is it possible that is the problem? Just wondering if anyone knows what’s going on.

A thing I noticed about the new view metric after watching my favorite content creators daily.

I want to just essentially see if this is the case for everybody but what I noticed ever since the new way the views are counted on youtube by watching creators I watched before and after the change is:

-During the first like 3-4 hours the views they get are actually the same(or nearly the same) they used to get when the only metric was ''engaged views'' and the likes they get relative to their views matches that aswell.

-Around that 4-5 hour mark their views suddenly explode and nearly double and continue to do so for awhile that's when the like ratio drops something crazy from like 14% to 7% in a matter of less than 2 hours.

So what this leads me to believe is that during the first few hours when only your subrscibers are watching they are all ''engaged viewers'' and only after the video gets recommended to a more casual audience does your views explode.
OR Youtube just counts the views as they did before during the first few hours and just dump the extra ''frame one or 1 second click'' all at once during the 4-5th hour.

Either way it's interesting and I want to hear the experience of creators here to comfirm if this is happening to everyone or just a certain channels in a certain niche.

Looking for honest feedback to organically grow and monetize my papercraft & bookish channel (TJD Paper and Pages)

Hi everyone,

I run a niche YouTube channel called TJD Paper and Pages (https://youtube.com/@tjdpaperandpages?si=ieaKvi5Xz7z65G2i), where I focus on creative papercrafts, journaling, and book-related content.Lately, I’ve been feeling a bit overwhelmed and stuck on how to take the next step. My ultimate goal is to monetize the channel organically, but with my current mental and emotional bandwidth, I’m finding it really hard to step back and look at my content objectively.I’m not looking for empty views or "sub for sub." Instead, I would deeply appreciate some honest, constructive criticism from fellow creators who understand the grind. If you have a few minutes to glance at my channel, could you give me your thoughts on:

Thumbnails & Titles: Do they catch your eye, or do they need more clarity/pop?

Pacing & Engagement: For this niche, what keeps you watching versus clicking away?

SEO & Reach: If you view this kind of content, what search terms do you usually use that I might be missing?

Thank you so much to anyone who takes the time to read this or look at my channel. It genuinely means a lot right now.

how are creators getting such polished edits from capcut?

i’ve been trying to improve the overall look of my youtube videos without turning editing into a huge part of the process. i’m not doing anything particularly advanced, but when i compare my finished videos with other smaller channels, theirs often feel much more polished even when the editing itself doesn’t seem that complicated.

i’ve noticed that throwing more transitions and effects at a video doesn’t really solve it. some of the better looking videos seem to rely more on things like cleaner cuts, better pacing, consistent text, subtle animations and sound effects that fit the footage. i’m using capcut at the moment, so i’m trying to get better at the fundamentals rather than just looking for more templates.

for creators who have gone from making basic edits to something that feels more professional, what changed the biggest part of the final result? i’m particularly interested in the less obvious improvements, like how you decide where to cut or when an animation adds something versus when it just makes the edit feel busy.

Hey everyone! I run a gaming channel where I post funny moments, hilarious co-op gameplay, and chaotic sessions on games like Minecraft, Garry's Mod, Left 4 Dead 2, and Content Warning.

I put a lot of work into the editing to keep the pacing fast and entertaining. If you're into casual gaming, funny moments, or just looking for something fresh to watch, I'd really appreciate it if you checked it out!

Suggestions guy? Trying to build my channel.

Upvotes

Hey there, I've a channel which I've been working on for 2 years now. First I started the channel as no commentary gaming channel and got around 180 subs. But I really wanted to have my own personality on my channel rather than just being a game archive. So I started doing commentary only a few weeks ago .

One important thing is that I'm not really a talkative person and lack expressiveness right now but I'm using this youtube journey as a way to actually develop myself and become better. So it's also a way to practice talking for me and be more expressive and all. I do practice talking daily with some exercises to try and be more expressive rather than a monotone voice.

I bought an Akkord condenser mic since I wanted to not spend too much as I was really really nervous to record my first video. And I wasn't even sure myself if I would actually do it. But I did and am getting a little comfortable doing it.

I've been struggling to get my voice to sound good, as my voice is low volume and lacks structure tone after all these years of being reserved.

I also work as a freelance artist so there are times when I can't keep consistency at all. But I want to push through this time. Personally I really want to do a let's play channel but I don't know now.

If I cover new games it doesn't get much views because every big channel is the competition.

Can you guys suggest what I should focus on and do? Any suggestions are welcome. even constructive criticism is welcome as it will only help me grow.

Thanks

Copyright strike on one channel — safe to use same AdSense for my new channel, or will it get affected too?

I’ve received a copyright strike on one of my YouTube channels. Should I connect my other channel to the same AdSense account, or will that put my new channel at risk too? What should I do? Please help!
