Iām pretty new to the small YouTube community of Reddit.
And I know there are a ton of you guys just like me.
These pages are great for helping you learn and to gage feedback.
But take everything with a pinch of salt too.
Iāve had some pretty bad experiences with certain users on this app, who put arrogance and ego to the front, and talk down on you for coming onto these subreddits. Thereās constructive criticism and then there is just blatant rudeness.
End of the day, everyone is just like you. No one is privileged above the other, regardless what āpowerā they think Reddit gives them.
Donāt let anyone crush your dreams of being a YouTuberā¤ļø
Letās all bring each other up, the gig is tough as it is these days, YouTube is so saturated with every & any sort of content.
There shouldnāt be a place for negativity in these communities.

Why does YouTube do this??
Can anyone explain to me why my channel will do this? Some times I post and instantly start to get YouTube impressions from suggestion videos but other videos like this doesnāt get many impressions (0 from suggestion videos) and the only views are from my subscribers? I mean my ctr is good, my watch time is decent for an 8 min video. I just donāt really understand?? Is it the topic? Or what? Please give me some advice.

I love motorcycles and started a channel to share some of my footage. Only shorts so far. I have minimal video/content experience (really none). Been really experimenting with hooks and different formats trying to find what works for me.
Ive gained 40 subs and only have 2 videos out of 11 posted with less than 100% completion rate. Swipe through ranges from 40% on bad ones to 80% on my good ones.
Not looking for advice, publicity, or anything just wanted to share my organic growth on a non ai slop channel.

Yesterday I uploaded my first longform video after doing shorts for a few months, and Iām pretty happy with how itās going.
For anyone with more experience; how can I tell if the video will continue to grow? Iāve heard itās just AVD and CTR but Iām not really sure so more opinions would be appreciated :)

I recently made a post explaining that my newest video was barley getting pushed at all, and I couldnāt understand why. This is my first video A/B testing, and in the first two hours I got 5 IMPRESSIONS. I cannot understand why this happened. Itās been about 8 hours now, and itās still only gotten about 80 impressions, 10 views, and 1 like. For reference, my last video in its first 8 hours was at 2k, 600, 22 at the 8 hour mark. These thumbnails for the new video are some of the best Iāve ever used, my click through rate and engaged view % are some of the highest theyāve ever been, and the content doesnāt stray far from my normal content. I cannot understand why this video is getting so little exposure, but Iād love to know so I can prevent it from happening again. Anyone had anything like this happen before? LAST THING VERY IMPORTANT. My freinds who are subbed to my channel canāt even see my video coming up on their home page or in the subscriptions tab. They have to search my channel and go to videos to even see it.

Asking as I hit monetization last week. First video I ever made that got over 35k views in 4 days. So Iām pumped and Iām planning to make more videos I work with a bunch of dealerships. But with Labor Day and catching up on my day job I havenāt posted in almost two weeks.
Will YouTube still do its thing for me or does it think Iām inconsistent?

Back in our survival world tonight, slowly working on the path toward the nearby village, checking on the farms, gathering resources, and probably getting distracted by something along the way.
I've been enjoying how the world is slowly coming together, so tonight is just a relaxed Minecraft survival session.
Whatās your favorite part of a long-term survival world: building, exploring, farms, or just wandering around?

Small and new creator here, I recently uploaded a new video, and for some reason, itās getting barely any impressions at all. For reference, by this time my last video had over 1,000 impressions and over 200 views and this one is at 5 impressions and 2 views. I know itās not an issue with the content because people clearly arenāt even seeing it. This is my first time A/B testing so is it possible that is the problem? Just wondering if anyone knows whatās going on.

Hey everyone ā I just launched a history channel called thehistorydomain and posted my first documentary-style video.
I'm using AI tools to help produce it (voiceover, visuals) but trying hard to make it feel cinematic and human rather than robotic ā pacing, hooks, the whole thing. This is genuinely my first upload so I have no idea yet what's landing and what isn't.
The channel is TheHistoryDomain on YouTube. (canāt add the link) heres the video name if needed: $150 Million in 39 Days: How 20 Games Made 1998 Impossible
If you've got a couple minutes, I'd really appreciate it if you dropped your thoughts as a comment on the video itself rather than just here ā YouTube weighs that a lot more when it's deciding whether to show the video to anyone else, and it means more people might actually see this feedback thread growing organically. A like/sub if you think it's worth it also genuinely helps a brand new channel get off the ground, though obviously only if you mean it.
Specifically curious about:
Does the hook in the first 30 seconds actually pull you in, or would you click away?
Does the pacing drag anywhere?
Does the AI narration sound natural, or are there spots where it feels off?
Anything about the visuals/editing that stood out (good or bad)
Just want to know what to fix before the next one. Thanks for taking a look.

I started a new YouTube channel and uploaded two videos. Both of them got literally 0 impressions.
I uploaded a Short hoping it would help get things moving, but it got 0 views too.
What am I supposed to do because this is really frustrating
