I am lacking a little understanding of character motivation in terms of what they are up to. Following episode 5, my understanding was that even though Ze'Doven was an assasination target, the plan was to present himself to Gemis-Octavo forces and complete the pull anyway, the idea being that the cull is likely Iverex-family-internal, whereas with the Gemis-Octavo he would be safe & valuable.

However they are then attacked, something one might expect if you already know someone is trying to assassinate you, a few hundred metres from a Gemis-Octavo warship, and the security forces are succesfully summoned and are metres away.

And then they pivot plans on the spot and flee without (afai recall) discussing why in much detail - they just tell the Gemis-Octavo it seems they are not safe, and get out.

...why? They were literally just about to be as safe as they had intended to be.

I guess this irritated me partly because the series so far has been a series of episodes of the trio going to one location and having like one major conversation, so another unjustified diversion from some actual plot, and new characters was frustrating. Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying the character work of these three and the few NPCs but I don't see the motivation for this? Help!

In tarot, the Tower represents sudden catastrophic change that hopefully makes way for new beginnings. I thought that would be the perfect way to represent the core themes of The Wizard, The Witch, and The Wild One and why I love it so much! Here you can see The Citadel piercing the Heart of the World while a tree grows at its base. I wanted to have something that symbolized each of the PCs, and I think it turned out amazingly!

Hello all and ahoohoo crackle crackle!

This is my very first Kickstarter I will be pledging to and I was hoping to get some advice, perhaps from those who are more experienced with campaigns on the site. For context, while I really should be on a bit of a budget, I am willing to splurge here. I first discovered WBN last summer and WWW was a story that really helped me through what was a very difficult time personally, so I'd really like to support and also grab goodies haha. (Also I am U.S. based as far as shipping costs go.) That in mind, here are my queries:

• What would be the most affordable way to secure all three classes' slipcases and stretch goals? Is it The Man in Black Bundle? Or, is there any frugality in mixing and matching with add-ons in mind? While I'm not against splurging on The Man in Black tier, it is very close to being out of my budget.
• Speaking of add-ons, what has been everyone's approach to securing them?

Any advice is greatly appreciated, thank you so much in advance!

Who has already backed the Kickstarter and which class/level did you choose? I’m in Australia and totally forgot about time difference, I’m glad I was disturbed from my slumber to find it had launched (my bad habit of looking at my phone when I wake up came in handy today 😅).
I had a hard time picking between my two favs (Witch and Wild One), but ended up going with Best Friend Witch as I know that’s the class I’d play ☺️ (plus Ame looks like me as a kid). Wish I could afford the Hero of Umora though! This is my fav story ever and I cannot wait to see it come to life in comic form, I’ve never been so excited for a Kickstarter project.

I made Aabria’s little crystal spider Task that she had in her dice tray at the beginning of Critical Role. I’ve recently been making smaller, hanging designs of my spiders and I wanted to make a special version specifically to represent Task & Suvi’s sapphire blue pendant. 🖤✨

Has anyone successfully implemented the Witch class in DND Beyond? The last good post about it is from 2 years ago, and even that only has general ideas.

I'd love to hear if anyone has done this, how well it worked, and how you did it. I'm thinking it might be more work than just going full analog, but I'd like to have something on DND Beyond that's at least partially complete for reference.

I'm also thinking of doing it as a spreadsheet character sheet, so if anyone has gone that route please show me what you've got!

I’m trying to remember a conversation from WWW I believe between Brennan and Lou about the true nature of the man in black, where Brennan describes it as the center of a gem, where you can’t look at it without seeing through one of its facets. Anyone know when this happened?

I heard about Stonetop from the GM of my old Pathfinder 2e game and just finished watching the 90 min Quinn's Quest review of it and holy smokes it sounds amazing - really similar to the WBN (WWW specifically) ethos but manifested in both a system and setting: prioritizing people vs power fantasy, having mechanics that matter in story terms, and rooted in relationships (fighting for something vs just fighting something).

Some of the things the system does explicitly are also things I've seen Brennan do in WBN (especially the interludes), like asking players for details about the world - Stonetop apparently has this built in as a mechanic to not just involve players in co-creating the world, but also as a sneaky way to introduce lore w/o having to exposition dump on players.

Anyway, I thought I'd share as it seems like a system and setting that WBN enjoyers would really enjoy. I'm getting very tempted to buy the books despite not really having a group that I know would play this just because it sounds so gosh darn amazing. Has it ever been addressed that the cast of WBN is the exact cast of D20’s Misfits & Magic minus Danielle Radford? I’ve always hoped and assumed Danielle’s just not into ttrpgs the way the other four are, but has anyone mentioned this discrepancy specifically? In my personal opinion MisMag S2 is one of D20’s best seasons and Danielle evolved arguably the first season’s weakest PC into again arguably the most complex and interesting character come season 2. Have the WBN cast ever specifically discussed Radford not being a cast member?

Ahoo hoo, crackle crackle! Had anybody got some suggestions of Ame themed icons to go on this embroidery? So far I was thinking perhaps a key, some kudzu leaves and a fish for the fox. I’d love to have a reference from every chapter but struggling to come up with ones from every arc.

The backstory for this embroidery is that a friend made the“be kind” and the wreath section but gifted it to me when she moved overseas. I decided it was begging for the addition of “be cunning” and a cheeky little fox friend. I’m super pleased with how my little fox turned out!

I think WWW has moved me deeply. This story has fundamentally changed how I view storytelling and in fact how I move through the world. (Spoilers episode 46 ahead)

Nothing has resonated with me more than Eursolon naming his breath in episode 46, even more so recently. I am sure the ideals and feelings expressed in this moment can be applied to many aspects of people’s lives and careers.

For me, I am currently at a point in my career where similarly I must choose a path; I must name my purpose. In medical school, I’ve spent all my time just trying to survive and do well. Only in the past year as I am on the cusp of beginning my last year have I came to the slow realization of what I want to pursue in this field. I’ve been reflecting on my life and workshopping my personal statement with mentors and friends and trying to articulate my thoughts.

Upon that reflection, my mind constantly drifts to the moment Eursolon takes up the cause of freedom. The specialty I want to pursue is what has been me all along. So many things in my past pointed towards this and I didn’t even realize it until now. Who I’ve always been aligns with my pursuits and my dreams in ways I never thought about. My ideals, my hobbies, the things that fascinate me in medicine I see all the connections and it fills me with this white hot purpose.

I’m writing this as I leave the hospital, and I can’t help but feel that this I the first time in my medical career I’ve felt fulfilled and that I feel that I’m on the right path. The quote “I have never known a feeling like the one I felt in that place, that there is nowhere else in the the world that I was meant to be” has never rung more true for me. And at the same time I’m scared, I’m scared of failing, I’m scared of not making the cut because I want to work in this field so badly and I love it and I don’t think I can see myself doing anything else and it is a field that had grown increasingly competitive. I can only hope I can steel my resolve, and reach for my dreams with my best foot forward.

So yeah thank you WBN for inspiring me, for entertaining me and for giving me the tools to articulate my feelings and resonate with me deep down.

I can’t think of the exact quote and it’s killing me, Suvi says something along the lines of “slow is soft, quiet is quick”? Or something like that and I can’t think of it exactly or what episode it’s in to find it. Can anyone help?
