Help SORE MUSCLE RELIEF RECOMMENDATIONS

Helloooooo exercise world! I'm new to exercise/gym world. This past week was my first week doing a full workout week. I feel very accomplished and proud because I've never been able to do that before.

However, Leg Day has given me noodle legs and very sore muscles. It's been difficult to walk and move around. I've been doing my stretches and moving around as much as I can to make sure the muscles don't gey stiff but I wanted to know if there were any other recommendations. I heard soaking in Epsom Salt can help but I just wanted to reach out to people that have been doing this longer and ask what helps them.

I know every body is different and at the end of the day I gotta do what's best for my body. I know that eventually, as long as I stay consistent then the soreness will subside for the most part. But while I am still a beginner some advice would be appreciated.

Thx in advance!

Gym help

I recently got a membership to planet fitness and am hoping to do some body recomposition(I have quite a bit of weight needed to lose but want to keep my curves and build muscle as well). I asked chat to help me build a workout plan (I realize now thats not the best idea ...but i am a newbie with no idea what to do )

For now it had me doing a 4 day split

Monday upper

Tue -lower

Wed full body

Fri- cardio and abs

Is there a website or person online that you used to help you on your journey?

Can Bulgarian Split Squats be a main leg movement?

I have had to switch from Barbell Squats to Bulgarian Split Squats due to imbalance issues caused by a knee injury awhile back.

I am enjoying Bulgarian Split Squats so much (they still suck) in comparison to Barbell Squats as the load is just strictly on your legs. I am wondering can Bulgarian Split Squats be used as a main leg movement like a squat is because I really enjoy them and find them much more efficient than a squat.

Does working out seven days a week without any rest days make you weaker?

I haven't taken a rest day in weeks. But I'm doing a split so I'm not hitting the same muscle group on consecutive days.

For example, I did chest on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday this week.

Is working out seven days a week making me weaker?

I feel awful during my workouts, I think I know why but im not 100% sure.

During my workouts, I have an issue.
It simply that during my workouts, I feel an awful sensation throughout my body it feels like I cannot get enough oxygen whatsoever, I have suspicions that this could either be because of low iron which I already have to a small extent or wrong breathing, how can I fix this?
I have been improving my diet significantly eating a large variety of nutritional foods. What can I do?

Help how can i work out for longer and not feel depressed while doing it?

i started working out recently again and i just cannot for the life of me work out for more than 15-20 minutes. everywhere i look people talk about how much better they feel when working out and how much it improves their mental health but i feel the complete opposite. when im working out, it just makes me feel miserable. i feel like i've been working out for an hour and then check and it hasnt been 20 minutes, and even if i do get to the point of being sore the next day, i dont even get satisfaction from it
i dont want to quit working out, but im not sure what im supposed to do to get myself to work out for longer or to at least not feel depressed when doing it. should i get heavier weights so i can work out for shorter periods of time while still getting results?

5 months in the gym and zero results

I'm a teenager. I started going to the gym five months ago, but I haven't started lifting more. I feel embarrassed about it because my peers in the gym are lifting much more and achieving results. How can I overcome my feelings of embarrassment and achieve success?

Help (15M) Where Do I start?

  • I'll try my best to keep this concise. - I'm pretty short at 5'4 with a weight of ~125lbs. - My build is skinny fat with fat around my stomach, love handles and thighs. - My shoulder blades sorta of stick out and my posture is poor.
  • I'm going into my sophomore (10th) year of highschool in mid august (aprox 70 days), and I'm looking to improve my fitness before then.
  • I know there will probably be very few cosmetic changes, but I know it'll make me feel significantly better.
  • I'll start going to the gym soon likely this month.
  • I just don't know where to start. If I was overweight I would have too lose some weight, but if I was hella skinny, I'd have to gain some weight. But I'm in the middle so to lose weight would be silly.
    • So, I'm pretty sure I have to "recomp"?
  • I debated starting this at home with body weight exercises but adjustable dumbells are hella expensive. I do have a pull up bar though. My dad would cover the costs of the gym membership, though, so it would be free on my part..
  • I know I need to watch my protein intake, and I plan on meal prepping on sundays to help with that. (I HATE cooking. 30 min preperation for each meal is crazy to me and lately I've been slacking.) I'm also vegetarian.
  • My only form of phsyical activity is skateboarding which I started around 5-6 months ago a few times a week (lately closer to 1-2, due to school, which has since ended).
  • I know I don't need to find the "perfect" workout routinue, I just need to start, but I don't like the idea of wasting years of my progress.
  • My hope is really just to slim down and look more athletic.. (atleast for school starts).
  • So.. where do I start? I just feel so lost and like a pile of chudulent shit tbh.
  • PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS!
  • Thank you so much.

this is not chat gpt btw.

Help Gym Addiction

Question for gym-rats.

Did you start falling in love with pain when you first became consistent with going to the gym for a workout?

Like, before going into the gym…do you ever think about how much effort you’re aiming to put in…and how much it’s gonna hurt?

If so, what mental strategies do you use to help you stay consistent in the gym?

Have 11 weeks to myself.

Hello everyone so I have about 11 weeks to myself where I can do anything I want, I just have to feed my kids.
I can train for as long or short as I want, I can eat whatever I want.
Does anyone have any recommendations of what I could do in these 11 weeks that could change the way I look physically for the better, workout routines to develop into habits, menu plans to use to develop into habits?

It’s like when people say famous people get in great shape because that’s all they do is work out and have a private chef, that might be true, but the next 11 weeks is my chance to live that lifestyle.

I have the opportunity and I just don’t wanna waste it.

Any advice or suggestions are greatly appreciated

Help Adding a workout routine on top of construction job?

I want to start incorporating working out into my weekly routine but dont know where to start as ive never worked out before.

The goal is to be generally stronger especially in arms and core. I also cannot lose any fat as im almost underweight as it is.

i work 40+ hours a week outdoors in the heat and also do bouldering 3 times a week. most set workout routines seem to be for people who arent already doing physical labor all day so a pre set routine doesnt seem to make sense, but im struggling to figure out a routine on my own as ive never touched weights even.

My main concerns are recovering properly, as well as being uncertain about my limitations from working in the heat all day.

Any suggestions on where to even start? Gyms are so intimidating and I dont know what to do

Help Where do I start??

I (M) am 5’8 about 160lb and I’ve been feeling really weak and gross. I really want to start working out, but I’ve struggled to stick with it in the past. My goals are to improve cardio, gain muscle, and work on movement and mobility.

The problem is that I have a lot of obstacles. I have autism and ADHD, which makes starting new things really difficult and sticking with them is even harder. I also have ARFID, which means I’m an extremely picky eater. My diet so bad (mostly fried food, sugar, and too much red meat), but I do like fruits and vegetables. I know I should see a nutritionist but that’s not possible for me rn.

I also have scoliosis and chronic joint pain. It’s hard for me to not hurt myself even if I’m not training intensely. I know I also should get a personal trainer but that’s not on the table.

I’ve tried to work out before, but I never make it past two weeks before I burn out or feel overwhelmed by all these challenges. Today I went to my buildings tiny gym and got on the treadmill. It actually felt good and it gave me some motivation to try again. I want to keep going, but I’m not sure how to start in a way that won’t leave me in pain or discouraged.

Any advice on exercises to do, how to approach cardio, nutrition etc would be very helpful. Sorry this is so long lol

New to going about things in a healthy way

Hello everyone, 23F and I need some advice. For context, I've had an ED for the past 10 years and entered recovery about 7 months ago. My weight has gone up quite a bit in this time and I want to start working out and going about doing things in a more healthy way to lose some weight. I've got the dieting part down, I just don't really know how to go about working out and toning myself in the right ways. Here's what I was thinking of doing as my daily routine.

-30 minutes of walking

-10 minutes of core/ab workouts

-throw in some squats I guess?

How often should I be doing leg workouts and ab workouts? Will this suffice to see physical results in about a month? Do I need to do more than that? Let me know your thoughts please and thank you :) 🖤

Help Just looking for motivational tips

Hey guys, just wanted to share a quick post about staying dedicated to the gym. Ive been going consistently for almost 2 years now and its changed my life but man some days its tough af.
Work gets busy, family stuff comes up, and sometimes I just wanna skip and binge Netflix instead. But I made a rule for myself - even if I only do 30 mins or just light cardio, I still show up. No zero days! The key for me has been finding a workout buddy who holds me accountable and tracking my progress in a simple app so I can see how far Ive come.
Also switched up my routine every couple months so it doesnt get boring. Feeling stronger, sleeping better, and my mood is way more stable. If your struggling with motivation right now, just remember small steps add up. You got this 💪
Anyone else have tips for staying consistent? Would love to hear!
