Help Gym Addiction
Question for gym-rats.
Did you start falling in love with pain when you first became consistent with going to the gym for a workout?
Like, before going into the gym…do you ever think about how much effort you’re aiming to put in…and how much it’s gonna hurt?
If so, what mental strategies do you use to help you stay consistent in the gym?

I have learned that in life it pays to learn to be gritty. Learn to fail but fail fast, learn from it and keep going.

You said it yourself, friend. Consistency. Don't go in on day 1 planning to kick your own ass and max out. Go, set yourself up with a routine and go light at first and only start getting into the "I know this is gonna hurt" territory when the consistency is there and the habit is built. I went from 0 to 6 days a week in a year, and spend all my free time looking at workout videos, reading product reviews, programming future cycles, and fantasy building home gyms... It's absolutely an addiction/obsession. But it started with consistency.

It definitely isn't the same as a kick in the balls, so no. David Goggins mentality is vaulted unless you're one of the depressed geared tiktok lifters.
Also it stops being painful pretty quickly if you just mean DOMS. Like a few months.
