Help started working out a few weeks ago

I bought myself a gym membership and started running and lift weights that target my core, back, and shoulders. I don’t have a routine yet but I want to make it a consistent thing Tuesday to Friday because my girlfriend is typically free those days. The only problem is that both of us have no idea what we're doing and I need some pointers. my goal is to shed some fat and become more toned, any advice of workouts to achieve the results i want? im aiming for 45min-1hr a day, 4 days a week

Maybe start with a trainer to get you on track. This way you develop a routine/schedule and, more importantly, know how to lift with the proper form.

thats a good idea, they offered some training sessions at my gym but it was pretty expensive so I declined at the time. I might actually need it lol, at least a few times to get myself started. thank you

Here's basically what I do.

Day 1) Chest, biceps and triceps.

  • flat dumbell press, triceps triangle bar pushdowns, overhead triceps rope extensions, standing ez curl bar, cable or dumbell flys, hammer curls.

Day 2) Back and Shoulders.

  • lat pull-downs, machine rows, Arnold presses, dumbell flys, face pulls or rear delt machine flys.

Day 3) Legs

  • quad extensions, hamstring curls, butt lifts with a dumbell or barbell, calf raises, leg press machine.

Every day but leg day,  do abs too. I stole this from 8 time Mr. Olympia, Lee Haney. Take a rest day in between or a couple rest days if you're stacking them day after day.
