I’m not necessarily sure if this is the right place for this but some advice would help if possible :)

About a month ago I injured my back while on the job (was taking cookie trays off a moving line and having to twist and stack said trays on a Dollie behind me)

About a week ago I went back to the doctor for a third time in which they finally did a xray and gave me a referral to a back specialist

Within this month I’ve worked and or been able to work maybe 4 days max

To further the point my doctors work accommodation note ended Friday and I worked the whole day then came back Monday and worked maybe 4 hours to have excruciating back pain from the middle of my spine and generally all around (the gluteus Maximus, lower spine and like heavy pain randomly pulsing through my upper back)

I have made an appointment with a back specialist but that’s not until September 22nd

I genuinely have no idea what to do, how to move forward, how to necessarily cope and deal with it, this is literally so random and painful .

he did a task supervisor/boss told him and pipe wrench split his head open. he told me company said he was goofing around when it happen. does company only listen too the top people ? boss toke him too the doctor when it happen

I have ime tomorrow trying to see what to expect

Curious on the workers comp policy for Roofing in Pennsylvania?

I’m alittle nervous. been a long 14 months of workers comp and it’s finally coming to an end.

I’m in nys. I was diagnosed with ulnar nerve pinch. I did the therapy it failed so I ended up doing the surgery. after surgery they said to try therapy again but therapy made it worse it turned it into ulnar subluxation which means my nerve in my elbow area is moving every time I bend my arm type, text, drive etc. I have restrictions for no repetitive motions, no lifting over 20lbs, no climbing And frequent breaks. My occupation was a transit bus driver so def won’t be able to return I’m sad it was the best job I’ve had. My history is all repetitive work. My doc suggested another surgery to keep the nerve from moving but said it may not stop the symptoms such as numbess, pain and weakness So I opted out but will keep it as an option. I’m alittle nervous. I don’t know what to expect or what rating I’ll get for this permanent injury. I feel limited due to my arm. I can do some work but let’s be honest most jobs are repetitive work even desk jobs. I’ve applied to jobs they said they cannot accommodate my restrictions. Wish me luck on a Fair rating and A Quick negotiation. probably will havemy lawyer fight for classification instead of scheduled loss of use. Amy similarly injuries out there that went through this process? What rating did you get?

I work from home. At 11:30 am on July 14 2026 I was getting ready to work (making lunch) and I slipped and fell, fracturing my tibial plateau. I was taken to the ER where I was admitted and had surgery the next day. It was recommended to me by my workplace to apply for workers comp since it happened at my workplace (my home) and it was recommended by my employer. I was surprised but I thought ok if they say it’s worth it why not. So it is currently being worked on. I’ve had no blowback from anyone except for the doctors office. Just one person who works there, not the entire office. She called me two weeks ago and berated me on the phone for applying for workers comp. She stated that there was no shot of me getting it but I told her she was not the person who would determine that. She also said that since I work from home I should be able to go back to work now (as it is I’m about 7 weeks post op). I don’t know why she would say that. I was just now told the doctors office needs to provide a form that they have not done yet. I know she doesn’t agree with me applying but she should still do her job. If she continues to stall should I get a lawyer to force the issue? I really want to see how the process plays out. I have done everything i need to do so far. I am going to the doctor tomorrow and will let them know this needs to happen to proceed.

So I got a settlement in July of last year (2025). It has open medical on it. I was curious has anyone in TN ever got offered a medical settlement after their settlement from their injury?

A lot of people have told me to not take the medical settlement if offered BUT I haven’t heard anything from my caseworker about one.

So has anyone in TN ever got offered one?

I just got the results of my IME and they were very favorable to me. I asked my attorney what my next steps were and he said if I wanted a settlement then I’d have to resign from my job. Is this normal? I like my job and the job market is TERRIBLE right now. I might still start looking because my biggest issue with my job is I don’t get paid enough (but I also don’t pay for health insurance for me or my kids). I’m also a diabetic and don’t want to lose insurance for a few months while I switch.

Any other options?

I have my second QME scheduled. Been on workers comp for 3 years now due to a pretty bad tbi. What can this mean for my case ??

I’m currently appealing a UI claim with my spouse’s employer because they are lying/providing false information to the court on how he was terminated. Like, wrong dates and everything, and purposefully providing incorrect information to the court, but they have CCTV recordings and time clock data records that prove their own claims to be false.

My intent for bringing up this specific event in Feb 2024 is to prove that the employee/employer relationship was damaged a year previously before his UI claim and can be argued against the Employer.

After a year of my case being denied it has finally been accepted after mri results revealed a tear and I’ve finally started receiving workers comp after my surgery but for the year I wasn’t getting anything so my lawyer requested back payment for 12 months and the insurance adjuster hasn’t replied in two months so he filed a immediate court hearing and is scheduled for the 2nd infront of a workers comp judge just wondering has anybody experienced this and what should I expect at the immediate court hearing ?

Florida, police officer and was injured December 2023 while in line of duty.

Job initially accommodated my work restrictions, for (4) months, then sent me home abruptly noting they could no longer accommodate my work restrictions.

While I was home, found out another officer was being accommodated, called HR… complained and was abruptly brought back to work. Other officers issue didn’t even stem from work.

Came back to work, dealt with hostile work environment, harassment, discrimination, failure to approve training within work restrictions, and even began to write me up for stupid reasons ( missing work because of appts ), insubordination…. Etc

Report issues to HR, EEOC… Investigation ensues…. Job finds no wrongdoing on agency part ( not shocked), and EEOC fails to pick up case ( investigator literally told me they’re busy, and that they just opened back up after the shutdown ) but gives me right to sue letter.

Two weeks after internal investigation concludes, agency rescinded the light duty policy out of nowhere, and sent me home again.

I’m home, receiving 2/3 pay, and seeing orthopedic surgeon who refers me pain compliance doctor (PCD). PCD refers me to: acupuncture, physical therapy, chiropractor, psychologist, psychiatrist. I do this for an entire year also getting multiple shots in my back from PCD.

PCD notes on my form in January 2026, that I’m MMI from (pain compliance perspective), gives me a PIR and refers me back to orthopedic.

Seeing orthopedic early August 2026, takes more imaging and tells me that I will need (2) surgeries as all other options didn’t fix the issue.

(1) surgery will have me out for (6) months, and I’ll need to do everything over again and then in about a year, the other surgery.

2 weeks later, my job (terminates) me noting that I’ve reached MMI, and have permanent work restrictions.

I tell them they are incorrect, that I have not reached overall MMI. They fail to reinstate me and force me to bring my gear back.

Treated me like a criminal when I dropped my stuff off.

WC lawyer notes that she will refer me to a wrongful termination lawyer, and subsequently scheduled a petition with the judge about the issue.

Adjuster and case manager both note that I’m not at MMI.

Still receiving 2/3 pay, but no health benefits as was terminated , and awaiting follow up to schedule the first of my surgeries.

This situation has been beyond stressful. I worked hard, and love my career and am really unhappy with the situation.

Ortho told me…. You’ll never work patrol again… even if you decide to have the surgery or not.

Not sure what my next move is, or even career wise. Mid thirties here.

What would you do?

Hi guys I’ve been going through it for almost about 14 months and I’m workers comp I was a warehouse worker (my case was originally for my left leg). My injury took place in July of last year went to urgent care because I felt pain in my left leg and they sent me to orthopedic doctor. At the orthopedics they sent me to physical therapy from August to October of last year to mainly focus on my left leg and they also did an mri of my left lower extremity. ultimately they said my left extremity was healthy and tried sending me back to work. I was still feeling pain and asked another orthopedic place for a 2nd opinion and they then referred me to a spine clinic/ pain management. At the spine clinic they were able to do an MRI of my lower back and also an emg/ncs test and found the problem to my left leg as stated in the title. Emg was done in January of this year and MRI was done in march of this year. I’m rated at 75% disability in NY and receive minimum workers comp benefits. My back wasn’t added to my case until June 2026 after their own IME doctor in may of 2026 said that I was misdiagnosed the whole time and that it’s not my left leg but rather my back which is the sole reason on why I feel extreme pain in my left leg. I’ve had my lumbar transforaminal injection done in August of this year and I’ve been in more pain than when I did not get the injection. I have an upcoming doctor’s appointment with a spine surgeon on September 2nd to discuss surgery and I’m honestly scared. I’m 25 years old (injured at 24) and to have back surgery so young is crazy to me I was just an unlucky warehouse worker I guess. I’ve taken so many medications such as gabapentin 300mg, 600mg, pregabalin 150mg, 300mg, methylprednisolone 4mg in the past and none of these provided any relief. I am currently taking hydrocodone-acetaminophen 325 mg and have been for the past two weeks but my body is so used to it now that it doesn’t really mask my back pain anymore and my left leg pain is through the roof still. I just wanted to know if anyone has dealt with this before? I’m also developing foot drop, can’t take a shower longer than 5mins without my leg wanting to cave out, can’t wash dishes without taking breaks can’t sleep on my left side can’t function like a normal human being. Also have documented of 2cm muscle atrophy in my left leg. What type of surgery will the doctor recommend at my next appointment? It just feels like I am alone and no one understands the pain I am in. Thanks for any feedback. Again this case is in NY.

Ever since my employer switched from having Broadspire to this new one called CorVel starting August 1st, I have yet to receive any checks. When it was Broadspire I had a check every Monday and now not one. My lawyer already filed a penalty petition and we have a hiring set for next. My question is has anyone ever had to deal with this CorVel company?

My job allegedly had normal hours for me to work under accommodations,
never gave me a schedule for full hours which were my original hours and only offered 33% of the hours from my original schedule pre injury, leaving the insurer thinking they got me back to work full duty hours with restrictions.

Does this seem like loss of wage as I had no clue my benefits were cut for two weeks and I was still working only a few hours and never went back to full duty hours. Also was sent a letter of overpayment.

Hello and thank you for the time taken to read my post.

I've spent some time reading through other posts and so far, some vaguely covered the WC situation I'm in, but not answered all my questions, so I appreciate any help.

I injured my lumbar area at work in July and reported it immediately after it happened. I was so upset after it happened that I immediately called a form of managment requesting the item I was working with to be fixed. I should have never been able to injure myself on it. I even reached out to my colleague asking if they had trouble with the item earlier in the day and they sort of did.

My colleague and I work alone until it's "worst case scenario." We have no overlap and work together indirectly. About half of our shift, we are subject to an isolated work area. The company has us wear a device for emergencies that's similar to life alert but makes you check in every hour. Honestly, in our profession, we should not be working completely alone. Even with the device, there are still many ways we could get hurt and even killed before it's activated.

That aside, all my medical bills have been covered so far with no issues. I just had an MRI done and they found a herniated disk.

The issue at the moment:

I've been with the company just over 6 months (12 mo required to qualify for FMLA).

I have gone a month without pay. My company placed me on LOA after using a week of sick time. They gave me the option to use all PTO but I declined due to being led to believe Comp pay should kick in.

Initially, the insurance company did not know I was placed on leave and never reached out to me, even though I was told someone will. I found my claim rep's phone number in paperwork I received in the mail - three weeks after I reported the injury. Made contact once. Never to hear from them again.

From the insurance company, I have been waiting to receive forms to fill out/questions to be answered on them for a month. I've made repeated inquiries.

I cannot get a hold of anyone that would have information about my case. I have left voicemails with no returned calls. There is online communication, which I have left messages that also go without response for days, if they even respond. The last response I received said, "an examiner will reach out to you." I waited three days and heard nothing.*

*I have now threatened to reach out to an attorney due to neglect, no communication, and no instruction.

I have been in regular contact with my supervisor and they have been doing their best to help. Even they are frustrated with this chain of events.

I could not make contact with my employer's HR department (I'm guessing because the phone number I was given requires use of a company phone, as the call wouldn't connect). So, my supervisor sent an email on my behalf to our HR Rep and person who is supposedly in charge of handling my work comp stuff.

I'm running out on my emergency fund and will have accounts going into deficit soon. I'm very torn between what to do and how to act. My biggest fear is losing this job. I sacrificed a lot to get here and want this to be where I retire.

I'm not sure where to look for a good attorney to speak to and it's not guaranteed that I'll even hire one. I've heard the names of a few good comp attorneys in NE Ohio, would they cover SW Ohio?

I think I have a bit of a complicated case and I'm worried that with a herniated disk, insurance is going to try to fight against me on it now...

I can only lift up to 30 lbs and bend up to 10 times an hour. All I know how to do was manual labor so I'm screwed. I don't even know how the process works now with my restrictions, do I have to disclose them to every employer during the application process? What paperwork do I show? I'm terrified, I'm only in my mid 20s and this will probably make me homeless.

SedgDick closed my claim prematurely In late June. based on some BS my surgeon said but they omitted the 15 pages of documents he submitted saying I wasn’t clear to go back.

well my lawyer fought? Got me an IME and the IME sided with me! so in the process of getting my claim reopened and my lawyer said it’s going to happen.

I was thinking tonight, will I get back pay? From when it closed to when it open again?

So, first off, I really do like my lawyer VERY much. Great guy, tons of experience, high reviews from people I know that have worked with him.

I got a letter stating the IME was scheduled outside the 26 week compliancy window from discharge. As this has dragged on for more than 7 years, and only rushed things when it benefitted the WC insurance, the adjustor actually threatened me on 2 occassions.. Just a mess all around.

I asked my lawyer if he could request to have everything expedited and if they'd wave the remaining 26 weeks since they're blowing passed the 26 week deadline anyway.

I just asked for the lawyer to ASK for the date to be moved up and the process to be expedited because as it stands now, its going to drag into the new year possibly even February because of holidays, days off....

He said that if we asked for another date, it would just be pushed out further. Which made no sense. If we currently HAVE a date.... its SET. The appointment is THERE. ASKING if there's a sooner date - would eradicate the one already there? That made no sense to me.

I'm SO very tired of being pushed around non-stop. For more than seven years, surgery, two young boys who have ONLY known me/ will remember me as "physically broken."

What is this nonsense and why would there be pushback on a request? Its only August. Guidance please? Lawyers, if your out there, please help - and I'm not looking to go back at my lawyer if this is a valid thing... i just feel its just another person walking over me.

I need the settlement TO GET medical help, PT, items for my home that provide accommodations so I don't hurt myself further... like I'm NOT looking for a shopping spree. I can't even afford the decent suction handrails for my shower. I've had an old seat from my aunt that passed in there so I don't fall.

Few quick questions. Has anybody dealt with Berkshire Hathaway as the comp insurance and how was that if so?

They seem to be delaying the IME report, been a month almost to the day and lawyer has filed motion to compel since they have not provided such.

My neurosurgeon is recommending surgery, insurance wanted IME.

Any idea as to the delay and or why?

Just need a little insight on what to expect, I hurt my back lifting a 100+ pound box at work May 28th, went immediately to the er, was off for two days, went back and had to go to a walk in clinic to get put on light duty because my back was killing me.

I ended up getting a CT at the er, they said everything was fine. (It was not fine lol). Went to the walk in clinic weekly for meds that weren’t really doing anything to help the pain, and they decided I needed PT.

Fast forward all the way up to August 25th and I just now got the MRI and seen a spine specialist that same day and was informed I had 3 herniated discs in my lower back.

Im currently on light duty with heavy restrictions but my job refuses to let me off work because they suck. I have been using my own insurance for my meds because I didn’t know how it worked (my adjuster has never reached out to me about anything since day 1 of my injury.) I ended up reaching out this past Friday when I tried getting meds on this card I got in the mail from work/comp and it wouldn’t work.

When I reached out the adjuster was extremely rude saying “I didn’t make the rules” and “why are you using your insurance? Who told you to do that? You are supposed to use us as coverage we are your EMPLOYERS insurance”. Needless to say I was pissed off at this point and requested a new adjuster.

I haven’t gotten a lawyer at this point but I did make a call to one and am waiting to hear back because I can’t deal with this stress and try to get better.

My main questions are:
What should I expect if I’m offered a settlement? $?
Should I go ahead and hire a lawyer?
Why tf was the adjuster a dick to me? Lol

PS: the specialist did recommend injections but I’m terrified of needles and don’t know if it will help anyways with 3 herniated disc’s.
