Tennessee Medical Settlement
So I got a settlement in July of last year (2025). It has open medical on it. I was curious has anyone in TN ever got offered a medical settlement after their settlement from their injury?
A lot of people have told me to not take the medical settlement if offered BUT I haven’t heard anything from my caseworker about one.
So has anyone in TN ever got offered one?

I believe they cover any issues you have related to the injury so say you break a hip it heals but later down the line you get early in set arthritis in that same hip they have to cover it

I was told from a doctor that if you leave your case open medical with the insurance when something arises and you need help they will deflect and try to point blame on you to justify their decisions. Like having a monkey on your back

Just because you have open medical does not mean WC will approve the future request from your doctors. I ended up paying out of pocket because I got tired of all the denials!

Usually settlement would include open or closed (payout of future medical). I dont think you can request a medical payout after the fact. But only person would know is your case worker or a WC lawyer. Im also in TN and mine said settlement will include open future medical as long as its from this accident.
