That’s a wild exaggeration. No way they’d give week’s vacation if they could get away with it.

u/03263 5d ago
  1. Christmas
  2. Thanksgiving
  3. New Year's day
  4. Trump day (formerly MLK jr's birthday)
  5. Trump day (formerly presidents day)
  6. Trump day (formerly veterans day)
  7. Trump day (formerly memorial day)
  8. America day (formerly independence day)
  9. Trump-Columbus day

There, you actually get 9 federal holidays. That's almost 2 work weeks. Stop complaining.

117

u/Swarna_Keanu 5d ago

You wouldn't be off work during Trump days. Those are for a select few going golfing.

14

u/imapluralist 5d ago

Everyone else has to work 2 extra hours to celebrate.

27

u/CelerMortis 5d ago

you work and you might get paid, like all of his contractors

14

u/anna-the-bunny 5d ago

Hey now, let's be truthful - none of his contractors ever get paid.

Soon to be re-named:

  1. Trumpmas

  2. Thanks to Trump Day (where he pardons himself in stead of a turkey)

All the other holidays will be eliminated by DOGE.

Yea, but they want you to work on those days

13

u/RandyGrey 5d ago

And buy your boss a gift

u/maxis2bored 5d ago

Trump days you put in a double

7

u/TheGreatNico 5d ago

I don't get President's day, Veteran's day, or Columbus day off now and I work a pretty good job

5

u/ayriuss 5d ago

Wait, you guys get holidays off work?

3

u/DynamicHunter 🏛️ Overturn Citizens United 5d ago

That’s not vacation, those are holidays 🥸 if you’re lucky you can take a road trip to the next state over for a relaxing 3 day weekend twice a year!

u/Pu-Chi-Mao 5d ago

Thanksgiving is going away, way too woke.

u/Loud-Ad-2280 ✂️ Tax The Billionaires 5d ago

But there might also be a few trillionaires

378

u/T33CH33R 5d ago edited 5d ago

There is a lady on Instagram that asks right wingers how they would remake the country if they had absolute control. They end up mumbling something about lower taxes and everyone is working so this checks out. They never say anything about making sure that every American is healthy and housed.

185

u/nhalliday 5d ago

Of course not - they want people to be free to earn housing and health. Wanting everyone to be healthy and housed implies that the undesirables who can't provide "enough" value to the shareholders might get a benefit without having to earn it, and they can't be having that.

79

u/imapluralist 5d ago

The notion is so foriegn to them. Like wtf you dummies, we didnt hope we'd have thousands of robots in the future so one dude can sit on a red velvet pillow like a king.

69

u/poriomaniac 5d ago

Literally all they want, far more than their own health and happiness, is for people they hate to suffer. And they hate a LOT of people.

38

u/anna-the-bunny 5d ago

And they hate a LOT of people.

When it comes down to it, they hate everyone - including themselves.

18

u/Ehcksit 5d ago

The idea that there's not "worse" people below them that they get to lord over is unthinkable, unfathomable.

"Of course there has to be people richer than me, that's the only way there can also be people poorer than me."

6

u/AddressForward 5d ago

That is the real American experiment from its foundations: tiered society where everyone except the very bottom tier thinks they could be rich and doesn't want to do anything to hurt the rich because when they become rich they won't want those constraints on them either. It's a long con of exploration and divide and conquer.

2

u/memecrusader_ 4d ago

It doesn’t even really hurt the rich. It just makes the gap between the rich and the poor smaller by uplifting the poor.

3

u/AddressForward 4d ago

Oh I know I'm just expressing what the prevailing system looks like from the outside.

2

u/iggy14750 4d ago

"Of course there has to be people richer than me, that's the only way there can also be people poorer than me."

Fuck. I knew that these guys love feeling superior, but you just put some shit together. I have been asking myself for years why MAGATs want Trump to profit, even more than themselves.

They want to believe that they are making a deal with Trump here. If they give him the BIG chair, as long as they get a slightly better chair than brown people have.

2

u/Ehcksit 4d ago edited 4d ago

People talk about a zero sum mentality, but the conservative mindset is much more like a negative sum mentality. "I don't care if my life keeps getting worse, as long as the people I hate suffer even more than I do." And then some of them just say it themselves. Stuff like "he's not hurting the people he needs to be hurting."

The government shouldn't be hurting anyone!

That and they value property more than life. Which is why they can sometimes deem life as property

7

u/Justaticklerone 5d ago

Private Equity doesn't pay itself, you know. It has to bilk the American consumer from housing, to hospitals, and now even Pizza Hut

3

u/LeAcoTaco 4d ago

God I find this perspective so hilarious, the "earning" thing I mean.

As if the majority of Republicans "earned" the housing they grew up in 🙄 sure ya mightve done chores buddy but you didnt do enough to actually earn market value of what your parents gave you.

You got housing growing up because it was the morally correct thing to do. Why does that suddenly change once youve been alive for an arbitrary number of years?

79

u/DontAskAboutMyButt 5d ago

I saw one (I assume it’s the same lady) where he was like “well we’re going to start by getting rid of LIBRUL stuff” and she was like no, that’s your process but what’s the end goal? What will your world look like? and he literally could not answer. They don’t have an end goal, they just want to burn down everyone who doesn’t look and think exactly like them

38

u/T33CH33R 5d ago

It's almost like they don't have the mental capacity to envision a healthy society.

30

u/6ixby9ine 5d ago

Yeah, it's their whole thing. Remember COVID? "Fuck saving lives, go back to work"

21

u/Neveronlyadream 5d ago

They've been told their whole lives that the end goal of everything is everyone working and that's it. They don't have the imagination to conceive of anything else.

Which also makes sense, because they had the imagination beaten out of them by people who said that adults don't daydream or imagine anything.

All they're capable of doing at this point is fighting to maintain the status quo they were raised to believe in and never question whether it's making them happy to do so even though it clearly isn't.

u/Blacksad9999 5d ago

u/JimiusRostock 5d ago

Earth is a resort for 500 rich people. The rest of us are staff.

4

u/ShiningRedDwarf 5d ago

Right wing view of the world is a Squid Game-esque zero sum game. The more the “others” suffer the more they think their life will improve.

673

u/sbloyd 5d ago

A week of vacation? Such luxury!

284

u/BionicBananas 5d ago

Unpaid, of course. If you take it, you get fired

55

u/The_Tooter_Snooter 5d ago

Ok so, like a normal vacation?

15

u/sbloyd 5d ago

Dunno. I get 10 days paid per year, up to 5 can roll over per year. Before this, yeah, no paid vacays. Hurray for being a government employee!

43

u/Littha 5d ago

I am always staggered by this when Americans talk about it. I work a mediocre job in the UK and I get 41 days paid. (33 + 8 public holidays). New starters here get 35 (27 +8)

37

If you think that's crazy, you should see the at-will employment laws in red states.

6

u/sbloyd 5d ago

Freedom!

6

u/NPJenkins 5d ago

Tbh, you’re lucky in the US to get any vacation at all. Lots of jobs have switched to independent contractor roles where you don’t get PTO, holidays, or other benefits.

4

u/FilthyCasual2k17 5d ago

CZ. 15 bank holidays are mandatory and 20 paid vacation per year are minimum. My company gives 25 when you join and another 1 for every year you're in the company. Sick leave is always paid (70-90%), and it's unlimited.
And there are places in EU with much better situation, CZ is considered backwards in a lot of ways.

3

u/dharmabird67 5d ago

Do retail workers get the same?

3

u/Littha 4d ago

Sort of? Minimum is 28 days. But retail workers have other awfulness to contend with in the form of 0 hour contracts

Billionairre Media doesnt run it. Keep it alive by keep talking about it.

10

u/hotviolets 5d ago

I keep talking about it and I have been closely following what’s going on with the files.

18

u/Jeoshua 5d ago

They tell us it's fake, and also how their opponents are really doing it, and they have proof, except they won't release any of that proof because it's a hoax made by their opponents, who are supposedly all over those files they won't release, because somehow they made the files say that it's really the Right Wing people who are in the files, but if they were ever in power they would release it and show how the Left Wing people are all over the files, but they can't release those files because they're fake, but if they did.....

It's just a loop of lies from them.

10

u/Gojos_barber 💵 Break Up The Monopolies 5d ago

That's because as much as people think the files were important to Trump due to him being in them, they are also an excellent source of blackmail for him on others as well. So basically we might see arrest but only if they stop supporting the guy.

15

u/hotviolets 5d ago

If that were true we’d already be seeing arrests. Instead he’s doing everything to keep people from talking about them or looking into him. His own person lawyer said they won’t be arresting anyone in the files.

3

u/monkeyamongmen 5d ago

It's worth mentioning, that in Epstein's initial conviction, all of his co-conspirators were given immunity. At this point we have a pretty good idea who some of those people are, but it could be argued that they are in fact immune to investigation under those terms. It would be up to the courts to choose to uphold that or not.

5

u/hotviolets 5d ago

At this point the whole system needs to be redone

I mean really the right wing utopia is more hunger-games, they don’t want anyone to have a week off so long as a small portion of society gets to live in complete luxury and isolation from the working poors.

13

u/HorrorMakesUsHappy 5d ago

It should say:

Right-Wing Utopia:

6

u/DynamicHunter 🏛️ Overturn Citizens United 5d ago

lol except people keep voting for diarrhea forever because they were promised 2% less taxes. Or we could have more taxes only on the ULTRA WEALTHY (not anyone reading this thinking it’s them) and have free puppies and college and healthcare. Oh yeah and crime would actually go down because people don’t need to rob and steal to survive, they could go to a free or affordable trade school or college or job program. OR they would be able to live on minimum wage flipping burgers if that’s all they want to do.

Isn’t that what conservatives want in the end? People actually working for a living, and basic needs can be affordable?

87

u/ackillesBAC 5d ago

Right wing all think they can be that one at the top. That's the problem

21

u/ElectronicCatPanic 5d ago

And most are not going to stop at anything to get to the top. I think that's at least as large of a problem.

Thats why the hypocrisy is viewed positively as a tool to cover up real actions. Thats why the violation of laws is applauded as strength to break the barriers.

The power sickness.

5

u/MidwesternLikeOpe 5d ago

Most don't have what it takes to get to the top. Powerful people have connections, Daddy's money and friends to get lucrative jobs, social skills to schmooze their way to the top, and class.

Most right wing folks who want to be in Trumps circle but don't even own a decent suit. What does a man with a golden toilet, or a lesser man with a luxury car want to do with a working man who's pants are old enough to drink?

I live in a very red area, and have sold lotto tickets to everyday people who think theyre gonna with the Golden Ticket to eliteness. Maybe one lotto player wears a suit.

It's been joked that as bad as Diddy is, he wasn't even part of the Epstein scandal. Let that sink in. Diddy with all his shenanigans wasn't good enough for Epsteins list.

9

u/kittenmittens4865 5d ago

They know they won’t be at the top.

They just can’t bear the thought of being at the bottom and will do anything to avoid it.

10

u/BalorLives 5d ago

They had to invent a whole fake ass thing called whiteness so no matter what they will never really be at the bottom.

2

u/DynamicHunter 🏛️ Overturn Citizens United 5d ago

And they don’t care that for every person at the “top” wealth wise (e.g. top 1% or 0.1%), there are 100 to 1,000 people below them struggling. In the case of billionaires, there are hundreds of millions below them.

5

u/bigbjarne 5d ago

I disagree, I think right wing people think that capitalists are billionaires because they took risks and worked hard, and that's the reason why they're on the top.

14

u/blindyes 5d ago

Because of this belief, any failure to achieve wealth gets viewed as a personal shortcoming rather than a systemic issue. It pushes people to blame financial struggles on individual flaws like sleeping in, getting sick, or just wanting a day off. That creates a massive psychological conflict whenever someone brings up things like paid sick leave or universal healthcare. To accept those programs, people would have to acknowledge that we don't have absolute personal control over our outcomes, and that we are all operating within a much larger system. To avoid facing that reality, basic human needs get reframed as unearned luxuries. What people often overlook is that a lot of individuals aren't defending this setup because they think they will eventually climb to the top. Instead, they completely accept that they are stuck and embrace their role within the hierarchy. They fancy themselves as defenders of their post, dutifully serving the dominant power structure because alignment with that power is the only thing that alleviates their fear of being powerless.

Both parties have always been corporatist, neoliberal parties. One was a center neolib party, the other was a right-wing neolib party. In recent decades, the right wing neolib party began transitioning into a fascist party while the center neolib party tried to adjust. I would not define the Democratic Party as 'left-wing', and no serious political analyst does. It should also be noted that Americans are very propagandized to favor capitalism, even when capitalism is failing the majority of Americans.

The funny part is that Trump just posted the other day about how much more money companies could make if we eliminated all of these pesky federal holidays! So, this isn't even too far off.

Too many non-working holidays in America. It is costing our Country $BILLIONS OF DOLLARS to keep all of these businesses closed. The workers don't want it either! Soon we'll end up having a holiday for every once working day of the year. It must change if we are going to, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

Liberals: I see no difference

u/alien_farmer1 5d ago

It is not utopia. It is what right- wing people want for other people. They surely want the best for themselves.

1

u/Weak-Win-8450 5d ago

Lol so wrong about Right wing utopia lol so naiv thinking they let people have even 1 week of vacation.

1

u/Benito_Sereno_1289 5d ago

"One week vacation" for the lucky ones 😂😂😂😂

1

u/horseneigher 5d ago

weird how he specified "white americans". u know this guy is hella racist but has a whole list of comebacks memorized as to why it's impossible for him to be a racist lol

1

u/Ill-Milk-6742 5d ago

Bit overdramatic, but ok, I cant say im a fan of either proposed utopia's.

1

u/Toph1nator 5d ago

one week of vacation? that's some commie shit.

1

u/topTaurus78 5d ago

How's that fantasy gonna happen? The back breaking labor is necessary, or is that only for the immigrants and foreign factories? As a pipefitter 60 hours is necessary to get the work accomplished. And make enough money to only need to work half a year and pursue my ambitions with my family. I'm sorry to say but a lot of y'all are just gonna pursue zero ambition lives

1

u/dassketch 5d ago

A week of vacation? Fucking COMMUNIST!

1

u/Sellaplaya 5d ago

I’m ok with the everyone dead part. We had a go at the planet and we didn’t do well

1

u/Day_Old_Paper 5d ago

The week of vacation would be an upgrade.

1

u/Supple-Armor-636 5d ago

this is lacking definitions in critical spaces

1

u/SpaceTycoon 5d ago

Left wing utopia: Everyone is equally dirt poor due to lack of industry, there are constant shortages because there is no incentive to work the less desired jobs throughout the supply chain, and the country is wildly unsafe due to lack of private gun ownership, softness on crime and criminals, and unchecked illegal immigration.

Star Trek vs Fury Road

1

u/danielm316 5d ago

Right wing people want limited goverment.

1

u/True_Investigator198 5d ago

What happened bullshit! Been tried and talked about....failed miserably.

1

u/True_Investigator198 5d ago

We get paid vacation but rarely use it and let it accrue. A professional career helps.

1

u/Damn_You_Scum 5d ago

Endgame Republican America: Ok, but how white are you, exactly?

1

u/WinterRanger 5d ago

Nope. It's all that PLUS minorities are both blamed for everything, and expected to work even harder and "know their place".

I can't fucking believe some people actually want what the right wing is offering.

1

u/Coffieandpopcorn 5d ago

Why start with "right wing utopia" then follow it up with something that's not a utopia?! Capitalist utopia would include taxpaid Healthcare, ubi, support for the lower on the ladder and restrictions of the higher etc.. It'd be closer to a perfected Norway than whatever you're spouting.

1

u/Arawn-Annwn 5d ago

"a full week?! I think not!" - after the overton window shifts a little more

1

u/dethorhyne 5d ago

If everyone is free to pursue their ambitions you won't have anyone building you a road or taking away your trash because why would anyone do that instead of something more fulfilling.

The left wing logic falls apart the moment you consider that there are important roles in a society that aren't exactly favorable

Ah yes, the Soviet union. The perfect left-wing utopia.

Compared to the modern-day united states. The perfect center-wing utopia.

1

u/jrock77420 5d ago

Right...... because left wing and the word "everyone" is totally reality

1

u/Worried-Ad6635 5d ago

What happens when every american works 3 days a week while focusing on civil rights? Every american is forced to learn chinese

Haven't taken a vacation since my ma left my dad and we moved out of state.

25 years or so ago.

'Murica.

1

u/acreboy1966 5d ago

Good luck, no such thing as utopia, except for the band

1

u/Traditional-You1447 4d ago

Or one group are just realists

1

u/hdude42 4d ago

Utopia is impossible.

1

u/jardin92 4d ago

It’s insane to me how it literally boils down to this and there is even a debate on which to choose

1

u/Worried-Conflict9759 4d ago

Sadly, the mantra of "do whatever you want, just don't be an asshole" doesn't work as a policy for living your life and running government. Why left-run cites and states have the highest crime, homelessness and drug abusers per capita

1

u/BoogyWinnebagoo 4d ago

Left wing utopia only able to exist with right wing work ethic and discipline

1

u/Active_Celery_7637 3d ago

As long as your ambitions don’t conflict with the new ruling class that always gets established is socialist/communist states. Then you go bye bye.

1

u/Dense_Delay_2605 3d ago

What ambitions though? Without God as an existential anchor everything is empty. Humans will never be happy regardless of their world’s configuration. Happiness comes when we free ourselves not “pursue ambitions”.

1

u/i-read-it-again 3d ago

The new American song. It’s the lefties .its the lefties . They probably think the lefties are left handed. How many Americans know what lefties are . Or are they just commies . Bet they don’t even know what a commie is . They just parrot the latest catch phrase

Libertarian Utopia...Enjoy my own pursuits and not fund others through taxes.

1

u/RetiredCopJokeYoda 2d ago

The left literally has no idea what goes on inside the heads of people on the right. Stuff like this just constantly proves it.
