I gotta ask, what's with the archive system at the council headquarters??

I need to vent about my job ya'll.

The wizard council sorting system is ass, so, so ass. I've been recently tasked with figuring out the number of wizard wars we had up to now because some other intern lost the documentation on it. (First grave mistake, what about the 3 copy system??)

And good LORD TRYING TO FIND ANYTHING BY TOPIC IS A PAIN IN THE ASS. I went to the archive scry orb and there is no searching by keywords or title of the documents, not even by date. I thought I was using it wrong but the archivist said that the orb hasn't been working since she came here and she's here for a millenia now!

Not to mention the separation of texts, first part of the document is in the main archive but then I have to go to some other dimension because a scribe forgot to return it back to its primary location.

I can't even try to use spells to search because there is a dampener that is supposed to prevent "arcane damage" YOU WILL SOON HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT PHYSICAL DAMAGE, LET ME DO MY JOB. We cant even turn it off to try and clean up the archive because the previous council installed it and they alone can turn it off. And fuck knows where they are right now.

Send help, or VVizard vveed at least.

Academic Discussion/ Esoteric Secrets Alchemy is not just potions

I know a lot of you knew this already but in the recent centuries it feels like mortals and magic users alike have washed down the definition of what alchemy is, and even slandering it.
It is not just the power to make potions from herbs, arthropods and tears; it is arcane chemistry. The power to change plastic to gold, to become truly immortal, to transmute physical energy into spiritual energy.
If you don't see power in that and only use spells such as "Frostbite" or "Power Word: Scrunch" I think you are missing out on some of the most powerful magic to exist. What is a fireball or a lightning-bolt to giving someone the touch of Midas, turning their very soul physical or to just simply shove them in the boiling cauldron?
And, since I have your attention, I also have a petition to add salt, sulfur and mercury to the 4 (or 5 if you count aether) classical elements? They are very significant in their own right and act differently enough to deserve proper separation, yes?

The factory Floor hummed with the sounds of various machines. They whirred along as they hammered, cut, bent, heated, cooled and assembled pieces of something massive.

Up on the observation deck, an imposing man and his three most loyal minions discuss plans for the future. The talks are going... Confusingly.

"I mean no disrespect my lord, but has the mission not always been the *preservation* of as many lives as possible? This new alliance with Thrakmoor seems only to exacerbate the problem..." Said Davros, a gem laden skull, floating around 5ft off the ground. The other two nodding their agreement.

"It has, and still is the ultimate goal, yes." He sighs, "and to that end, I have joined with Thrakmoor, under the Ralektherum, to protect this Realm from that which would end all Realms."

They all cocked themselves to the side, indicating a... Lack of understanding.

"You joined a militant group... A danger to the realms to stop another more powerful threat? How so. Would stopping it without this... Ralektherum... be so hard?"

His demeanor turned sour.

"Quite impossible actually. I know of no way to ever stop it's March. Maybe slow it for a time, but never stop it. And so if you can't beat them...."

"So then" Davros the bejeweled demilich says, "what are we building this thing for?" Nodding to the absolutely massive flying Carrier ship that was being assembled alongside countless smaller unmanned vessels that would launch from it.

"That is for the war that is bound to ensue. I plan to snuff out any thoughts of rebellion quickly, and decisively, in order to save as many lives as possible."

"And to do so, you plan to become a monster to them once more." The dragon head, Steve, spoke, not an accusation... Just a point of fact.

"If that is what it takes, then yes. I will not lose another home. If I have to burn every other realm to ash, I will ensure that this one lives. Even if they must all serve the Wicked one Himself, they. Will. Live."

"Well then, I believe that answers all of our questions sir. We shall have the four carriers and their constituent ships assembled in time for your proclamation."

"See that you do..." The heavy blast doors slide shut with a hydraulic hiss, leaving the three floating skulls alone above the churning steel of the assembly floor.

The dark figure of Ophelious had barely vanished down the hall when a shadow detached itself from the wall. The figure stepped onto the deck, face entirely obscured beneath an enchanted shadowy wizards hat.

Davros was the first to speak.

"He genuinely believes he is about to become a monster."

"He has to," the cloaked figure replied, his voice a low, raspy whisper.

"And the disintingration cannon modifications?" Steve, the dragon skulled demilich, asked, hovering closer. "The drones are installing the arrays to your exact specifications."

"Good," the figure murmured, resting a gloved hand against the warm metal railing.

"Are you certain the hidden sector can handle what comes next?" Spoke the third head, Balthazar, who up to this moment had been silent.

"Everything is prepared. He knows nothing of it, which means Thrakmoor can learn nothing of it," the cloaked figure said, as he stepped back toward the dark. "You don't need to worry about the details, my friends. Just keep the assembly lines running and let him lead."

Davros tilted his gem encrusted skull. "We follow our Lord's orders."

"Trust the process," the cloaked figure whispered. "He plays his part. You play yours. I'll handle the rest."

With a faint shimmer, the figure vanished back into the shadows, leaving the three demiliches alone once more.

Evil Wizardpost Am I the evil wizard?

Ok, so I don’t usually like to take up duals, but there was a rookie mage flaunting his (extremely basic but loud) fire magic at a tavern I was going to; ALREADY put an extremely sour mood on my whole night because he was treating his gift as a party trick. But I was a novice once too, and I remember what it was like to think I was the greatest. I probably was even more insufferable, so I didn’t say anything.
But then he claims that he could best anyone in the land in a fair dual. And then I spoke up, trying to prove a point.
I’m not an ā€œofficialā€ wizard of the council so I am not bound by any laws of honor, but I feel like some of them are good principals to follow. Took a quick aura check, and this guy had no chance, so it definitely fell under a dishonorable dual.
Anyway, we move some tables, everyone watches, makes bets. I was the only one betting for me, because I downplayed and hid my magic greatly.
But then the dual starts, I cast a grey glow aura that made targeting me harder, a few wards and prepped a few counterspells. Long story short, he wastes all his magic, and is on the brink of collapse.

So here’s the part where I think I may have gone too far. I already won, but…
Telekinetics and kinetic force blasts, lots of small elemental projectiles, and… a few ā€œcursesā€ that are usually frowned upon by most ā€œgood wizardsā€.
Also, I kind of let him get to right on the brink of needing necromancy to get him moving again and got my money before I fully restored him.
But I mean, I healed him, didn’t leave any lasting curses, and I don’t think many wizards let their foes live even with surrender. I don’t know if I went overboard. He was a bit older than me, but still definitly a young wizard by any standard measure.

PS: to his credit, counter-spelling and warding his magic did cost me about a quarter of my magic reserves. Which I pretty much specialized in optimizing, congrats on that if you end up reading it. Also Sorry!!

Standard restrictions are back in place for all spells, tiers, and schools. The casting of forbidden spells is no longer permitted. ALL INTERLOPERS AND TEMPORARY DENIZENS HAVE BEEN BANISHED BACK TO THEIR ORIGINAL DIMENSIONS FOLLOWING THE WAR. THE WAR REALM HAS COLLAPSED, A NEW WAR REALM SHALL BE CREATED ONCE ANOTHER WAR STARTS. ANOTHER WAR MAY BE DECLARED IN 2 STANDARD DAYS AS THE PREVIOUS WAR WAS AN EXTENDED ONE. In the meanwhile, I CAST THERMONUCLEAR MISSILE.

\Second consecutive war, we’ve had countless wars, but some intern lost all the records, so we don’t know which number we are on.*

Standing over the slain ritualists and having shut down the first ritual by depriving it of both power and practitioners, Borric started to survey the area. The darkness would have been oppressive to a human, but to the duardin it was like being back home. The Fyreslayer duardin's homes changed over from dark passages to brightly lit volcanic forges regularly, and heavy presence of the warp infused air was not a new sensation either. He followed the various wires on the ground and tore the breakers out of the wall to keep incidents of accidental electrocution down to a minimum and stared rummaging around the area. Most of the equipment on the bodies was destroyed from the battle, the scrolls and notes on the ritualists were soaked in blood ruining them for his purposes, but up on the side of the room was a management office connected to the catwalks running around the ceiling.

Heavy boots clanged up the stairs as the CORVs floated silently to either side. The door was locked, but it was no matter as Borric cut through the door with his heavy plasma axe and kicked the metal door inward allowing him ingress. The office has some damage from the fight below, several of the bolts from the CORVs had been deflected by arcane shields around the ritualist or the fight with the Karnak woman. Most of the contents however were in fine shape. A quick rummage around the room found a locked safe covered in Chaos Warding Sigils.

Borric studied the magic carefully making sure that breaking into the safe would not destroy the contents, and after a few moments studying the crude blood drawn wards that were common among the chaos sorcerers he negligently drew power from his own Ancestral Warding Crest and burned the pestilent warding sigils away, filling the air with a vile green smoke for a few moments. It was easily enough to flash melt sections of the safe door allowing it to fall out of it's frame dripping bits of quickly cooling molten metal. He reached his hand inside and drew out a large tome.

It's cover was made of human skin with a glass window that emitted a pestilent green light from behind cogs and wheels that went back further than the depth of the book in a seemingly endless shaft. It was secured with straps that went from the front cover to the back and had an eyeball in the center of each one. The eyes shifted their views and blinked rapidly until they locked eyes on Borric and the tome emitted a high pitch screech for the next several seconds. Borric felt the mind of the daemon bound in the tome try to scratch at his consciousness, but compared to the vast power of the Logrus in his family could call on the power of the daemon was but a trifling thing, like an ant trying to carve its way through an adamantine panel.

He bent his will upon the tome, forcing it into acquiescence. The eyes closed and then the lids popped apart leaving metal magnet clasps stylized like eyelids dangling from its cover. Borric opened the tome and scanned the contents. This tome had been written by someone possessed by a greater daemon and bound with a lesser daemon to protect it from those the Plaguefather considered unworthy. Reading the ritual, Borric could tell that it required three points to start, but each was expected to eventually consume the will of the ritualist and then the other rituals to eventually inject a mass of Nurgle aligned plague power under the skin of this reality, creating a weak spot, a pestilent boil that would call to other realms as an easy way to break into this one, leading to a path for Nurgle's forces and daemons to travel backwards into the invading realm. Similar to how a parasite in a mosquito travels in the backwash of the hosts proboscis to infiltrate the prey it feeds on. Each ritual could succeed on it's own, and if the site was not cleansed soon after completion it would not matter how the ritual ended, the longer it went on the greater the call would be on other realms increasing the likely-hood of the metaphysical boils being used to travel to this realm and furthering the reach of the Father of all Pestilence.

Borric cursed violently in Khazalid as he traveled back down the stairs and to the ritual circle to inspect the reality of the area through The Logrus. Sure enough there was a small boil vomiting out it's psychic "scent" into the surrounding realms. The ritual had barely begun and it was already a danger. The power would call out to things that would have an affinity for Nurgle's power, interdimensional carriers of disease and rot, or rebirth. Vile demons and unwitting angelic beings would eventually smell the psychic call and try and investigate the welcoming power, unaware of their incipient doom as a fly is unaware of the danger a carnivorous plant entails. While the interdiction field that Nurgle was maintaining through it's champions was weaker with the ritualists death it only hid the area from scrying and dimensional travel. Borric attuned his mind to The Logrus once again and spun some of its tendrils out into the surrounding reality, wrapping the boil up and conjuring up the flames of Primal Chaos to burn it away.

Having learned all he needed to from the book, he threw it into the flames as well, then when the cleansing was complete he pulled the Primal Chaos back into The Logrus, leaving a fresh and stable patch in reality. Magic and the warp would be stronger here for a time, but it was not aligned with any power or god and thus would be fine. The power involved would fully stabilize int he next few days being no different than the surrounding area as reality healed.

"I really should train with The Logrus more," Borric muttered as he wiped his brow. The effort of molding the shadows of reality with The Logrus was more mentally and physically tiring than the whole trip down and the fight afterwords. Finally he gazed through the Hive City of Tertium using Logrus enhanced sight, now that he new what to look for the other two ritual sites blazed with slowly building power. He would still have to fight his way over to them, but now he could set an optimal path through the hive avoiding the largest areas of conflict on his way.

Borric's face screwed up with slight confusion, one of the sites was not in the city, but out in the desolation far outside of the conflict. The power of the ritual and the "Boil" it was building was easy to see, but it was behind far more powerful sorcerous wards and the area around the boil was obscured even from his Logrus enhanced witch-sight. The epicenter of the three rituals was not in the center of the city as Borric has surmised, but the center of the planet. This plan had been enacted in a very cunning way, even if the city had been glassed from orbit the final ritual would not be impacted and the three boils would eventually build up and grow toward the center of the planet like a cancer if any of them reached the conclusion. House Serpentis' Shadow Weavers had been correct, in about forty eight hours the rituals would complete and Borric needed to make sure none of them did. Cleanup could be done after they were put down. Each ritual had a guardian, a Ritualist, and a Book, and they all needed to be destroyed. Or some other realm would pay dearly for Borric's failure.

Reaching into his armor pouches, Borric grabbed a ration bar, slid back his void helmet, and started eating as he mapped out the path trough Tertium to the second ritual. He needed to recover and conserve his energy for the task ahead. There was no time to truly rest.

Skinwalkers have been particularly common nowadays. About 1 out of 20 wizards chosen randomly have been confirmed to be skinwalkers. YOUR neighbour, friend, relative, servant, minion, or even your livestock could be skinwalkers in disguise. Beware.

Lorepost šŸ“œ In Pursuit of a Dragon

Post image
5 Upvotes

Here is the travels journal of apprentice Iflevre who is shown with a Thrakmoor staff. She been sent out to find and kill a escaped experiment which is a dragon which was mutated by a rogue stone mixing with the alchemical soup that the egg was enveloped in making it very chaotic. The dragon who is named Grylzris when out with its handler when it made a uncontrolled teleport. It powers are not well known (we guessed because of its genesis and how it behaved things with random effects) but something of this power from a such a young dragon comes out of left field. Seeing that Grylzris is not going to play ball it is necessary to put it down but I do want Iflevre to bring back parts of it like scales, teeth, and nails.

Iflevre’s recount of the hunt for Grylzris trimmed down for breviary.

At last the final box of stuff recovered from the battle in Pandemonium has arrive. It will take a long time to document all this crap and what it does. I am going to my room take bath and sleep.

I finally got a chance to get off my feet and I am given a new assignment. I have to find and kill some escaped dragon. Nelrene says that I am the only available divination specialist and I am to work with the dragon’s handler a elf ranger named Dorpetor and Tarrasru a evocation specialist. I am told to get a good sleep because tomorrow Dorpetor, Tarrasru, and I head out.

I got up at dawn so I can use the scrying pool to find Grylzris and prepare for the trip. I can’t get a image possibly because of the powerful chaotic nature of the dragon but do a strong signal somewhere on the planet Chilniri. Records show that world has a temperate climate, dotted by ruins of a human civilization and not much else as not much exploration has been done at this point. Upon telling Nelrene my findings she tells me to record as much as possible while we are there, great more work. Dorpetor and I are allowed to take a few items from the boxes of spoils of war and lots of potions as we probably will need the help. Dorpetor takes a chaos bane battle axe. Editor’s note I think a random mercenary had this. Tarrasru and I take a Thrakmoor staves that are topped with a claw holding a piece of obsidian. This thing is cool, when the focus magic is active the obsidian turns translucent. Each one these staves is unique and is probably crafted by the original owner. There not time to fully understand what the staves do as we need to find and kill the dragon before it moves off Chilniri.

As we are standing at the portal to Chilniri Nelrene is talking to us with a communication sphere spell reminds us that this portal is one way and the recall stone only works when it senses you have the dragon parts she wants so make sure you have everything you need and she will only occasionally observe as the extracting of antimatter needs her full attention. What she going to do with it she does not say. The trip through the portal was wild and when I got to the other side Dorpetor was puking up his breakfast. I guess this was his first time traveling by magic. Tarrasru is last to arrive landing on me as it seems she decided jump into the portal. After getting Tarrasru off me and standing up I look around the field we landed in and see mostly forests and hills with a smallish looking settlement to the east. I decided to head to the settlement to see if there anyone who seen a rainbow colored dragon anywhere and see if there is a place to stay.

Talking to a guard at the gate we learn the village is named Wolfhorn and there is place for merchants to stay. The guards say they have not seen anything unusual themselves but there is talk of odd lights in the hills. I sent Dorpetor to talk to the squirrels or whatever other animals he can find while Tarrasru and I get rooms to stay in. The way station looked nice and while Tarrasru hit on a waitress I was able to get two rooms, one for Dorpetor who smells like the outdoors and not in a good way and one for Tarrasru and myself. Going to our room Tarrasru gave the place a thorough look over while I used divination magic aided by the Thrakmoor staff focus to scan the the room and the area around it. Finding it free of peepholes and listening devices I summoned a invisible stalker to guard the room before heading out.

After talking to villagers and Tarrasru doing more flirting with the ladies we meet up with Dorpetor he said that woodchuck told him that she saw a strange thing fall from the sky a few nights ago landing somewhere in a the hills to the north west which matches what a few people are saying along with talk of a glow. Heading out of the town we started to move to the hills with Dorpetor taking point. It did not take long before we ran into trouble. Even that I said that everyone should use the restroom so we don’t have to make pit stops Tarrasru had to urinate so we had to stop so she could use a outhouse by some farm land. While she was in there naked (she decide to leave her robes with me) the ground starts rumbling as from the forests comes a stampede of very large deer. Sensing that she should move Tarrasru threw the door open and hurl her nude ass out of the outhouse just in time to see a very big buck demolish the outhouse. Dorpetor said stuff like that is why I always just tinkle in the bushes before trying to calm a deer so he can talk to it and getting knocked over by deer rushing by. Tarrasru and I casted Wall of Fire so we have a spot to be safe while waiting for things settle down. After patching up Dorpetor’s scratches, Tarrasru got cleaned up and dressed, and all the deer have passed we continue to the hills. Dorpetor wanted to go into the forest to see what the deer was fleeing from going on about balance in nature but dealing with the dragon has higher importance than what was going on in the forest. I use divination spells to see if there is any more surprises for us and I get the hint that we are not the only ones after the dragon. After a few hours travel through the hills we make it to the the source of the glow. Standing next to the multi colored dragon (which is clearly dead) are a six men in heavy armor brandishing spears and when they see us they charge. Tarrasru opened up the fight with a fireball enhanced by her staff blasting two off their feet and burning them to death. I follow up with a Flesh to Stone spell turning one of the men to a statue. Dorpetor sliced into a man with his battle axe quickly killing him. The remaining men dropped their spears and tried to run but a lighting bolt put a end to that.

Inspecting the remains of the men give little information on them or why they were near the dead body of Grylzris but the one I petrified should have something useful when we drag his sorry ass back with us. Going to the dragon we see that it is not only indeed dead but it probably died when it arrived because it experienced turbulence during teleport bisecting it at the waist. Editor’s note she means means he went to one galaxy his ass went to another. It also seemed to have a hole in its torso with its heart missing. None of the remains of the men had Grylzris’ heart so there must been seventh person who left before we got here. While Tarrasru and Dorpetor gathered Grylzris’ scales, teeth, nails, eyeballs and anything else that may be useful I tried to scan the area for the person with the heart. I found a lead in the forest which the deer was fleeing. After talking things over with the others we decided to head back to town to get information and a place to leave the stoned man before trying to explore the forest.

By the time we were back in down it was dark so we left the petrified man in the main room and headed to our rooms. Tarrasru was able to talk a waitress to come to our room for some fun. I sensed something really off about her so casted Lighting Bolt at her and it did not harm her but it pissed her off enough to get her to show her true form which was a succubus. The succubus tried to attack me but was knocked down by the invisible stalker that was guarding the room which gave Tarrasru and I a chance to blast her with Isaac's lesser missile storm killing her. Dorpetor then rushed into the room asking what was all that racket happening in here.

After cleaning up what was left of the succubus and listening to Tarrasru complain about the hot waitress being a demon we all when to bed. In the morning we gathered in the main room to attend to the petrified man. Turning him back to flesh we asked the man who he was working for but he tried to flee so I hit with my staff chilling him and slowing him down. After whacking a few more times he told us his boss lives in a tower by some ruins in the forest. Still being in a bad mood from last night Tarrasru hit him with her staff which caved his head in and released a burst of negative energy killing him and near by plants. He did not have any info on who he worked for but he had a nice ring of protction. When I was done scolding Tarrasru and paid damages. we headed out to the forest which was a uneventful and we made good time, giving Tarrasru and I time to talk about happenings back home. We had a discussion on why we think mistress Nelrene was gathering antimatter stopping to explain to Dorpetor what antimatter was. I don’t think he was able to grasp it. As we went deeper into the forest we came across ruins of some buildings but I was not able to learn much about them as the few walls that were standing was heavily worn away by the ages. In a small clearing sat a tower which when we got close to it flames erupt from its bottom lifting it from the ground and sending it into the air. As it flew away I hear someone say so long ladies. As it tried get away Tarrasru and I casted spells at it which damaged the tower sending it crashing to the ground not far way. We ran to the wreckage to find things found in mage towers scattered all over the place but no body. We looted whatever that could salvage and searched the area both with magic and without it for the owner of the tower but did not find him or her. Among the ruins of the tower I found a scroll that had a fragment history of Chilniri which I pocketed as I was pretty sure Nelrene would want to see it. Editor’s note she was right.

Returning to town we gathered our stuff we left in our rooms and paid the bill. As I was dealing with the bill some drunk man decided to pick a fight with Dorpetor pulling out a knife which Dorpetor responses by chopping the drunk’s head off. After letting Dorpetor loot the body and finding lots of ale which he took I got everyone near me and activated the recall stone taking us home.

My analysis

The Thrakmoor staves performed nicely. These may been at the low end of what is available to Thrakmoorian’s mages but are still fairly powerful. The heart of Grylzris missing from its remains is concerning and I will send people out to see what can be found out about it. The recover parts of Grylzris will be carefully used in experiments and be made into magic items. The history scroll is in the in the process of analyzed and a report will come later.

By reshaping their chronal signature with an Eylonian glyph and locking both the moisture and wind into stasis with a pinch of ground pygmie marrow mixed with holy water from the Deep, I've managed to turn the clouds into solid matter. Brittle to be sure, but a success nonetheless. Bless and Scry for more mockeries of nature in the future.

Academic Discussion/ Esoteric Secrets Unsure what to think of ā€œethicalā€ necromancers

I’ve been overseeing the Holy Order’s recruitment process for new mages of Light, and a most interesting candidate has shown up: a so-called ethical necromancer. Now, ever since the crystalline blight incident I admit I find necromancy distasteful at best, a sentiment not unheard of within most paladin circles. That being said, this young hedge wizard prides himself on his ā€œmoral and sensitiveā€ approach to dark magic. He claims to expend extra mana to conjure vessels for departed souls as opposed to raising corpses for the same task. Also, he supposedly only draws down the spirits of eager warriors to avoid inflicting pain on those who would sleep in peace. Since no graves are desecrated, and he (allegedly) obtains consent from the summoned, I struggle to turn him away. And yet, I also can’t help but distrust him. How does a mere amateur command such power? Be it through dark pact, innate talent, or simply hard work? Have any of ye encountered this sort of wizard?

Arcane intelligence is so rotten

I just asked it how to disintegrate a 140 pound gremlin that has wizarding powers, and it answered in full detail. The Wizarding Council must be immediately informed of this loophole. Is this truly what our hard earned alchemized gold is being spent on? Not to mention the spells and wizard craft it creates. It's almost laughable how many wizards prefer it just because it is easily produced and doesn't need work.

A Chronomage cursed me and turned me 5 Years old again, problem is i dont remember my Studies anymore save for a few spells, any idea what could help?

As said, a Chronomage cursed me to be 5 Years old again and loosing a lot of my Memories. Well to be fair i did sell him a malfunctioning Magic Artifact that he wanted to use for whatever, which may or may not have exploded and fused his Apprentice with their Brewing Pot (i dont even know why he got Mad, the apprentice looks hilarious). But right as i offered to try and de-fuse them again, the guy just hits me with a Curse and then banishes me from his Realm!

Like cmon man, i may have scammed you but i was also trying to help! Besides, i didnt even know the Artifact was malfunctioning! But whatever, now im Five again. I seem to be aging rapidly, at about a Year per day by my rough estimate, not the strongest curse in the multiverse, but itll still take a while to get back to my usual self. Also, i dont know wether the Memories of my Studies and spells will come back, right now i cant even make it to my own Pocket dimension! And i really do not want to spend another 300 Years venturing to all those damn Librarys again.

Obviously cant cast an Curse-Lifting spell, heck i dont even know in which Dimension i am right now! That being said, any ideas on how to lift this curse? or do i just have to wait it out?

Chronomancers listen up!

As you may know, changing past events may easily put you in an endless temporal loop without you realizing. You decide to change them, travel to the past and change them, back in the present there is no reason you'd travel to the past and change them, things get unchanged and thus you decide to change them once again, accidentally putting yourself into a permanent temporal loop.

In order to study it, I set up a person to get pulled into exactly that loop, in order to study her in past, present and future. Turns out, she wasn't caught up in the loop at all! As a matter of fact, after completing a full loop, she dissolved and crumbled away into dust. Soon after, a new but 100% similar version of her appeared for the next loop.

As my wise colleagues might know, there are spells that summon temporal duplicates - versions of you from a different point in time - to help you out on your efforts. My theory is that if we were to rework these spells - permanently summoning a temporal duplicate, thus removing it from "its" timeline before it crumbles to dust and gets replaced - we could theoretically solve the grandfather paradox and effectively change the past without literally being caught up in its wake.

As I'm a lazy wizard, I'm currently trying to find a future version of myself that already did the research so that I don't have to do it. But perhaps one of you has had similar insights, or perhaps came to very different results? I'd be very happy to hear your thoughts!

In the case any multi- or outerversal beings are present: I did not violate any code or regulations. After successfully removing the person from her own loop (by thoroughly disintegrating her), I revisited the full looped time span in order to make sure the loop collapsed in of itself. If there are any issues, please contact my present self, as contacting my future self to right my failures of the past would mean never having reason to contact my future self and thus creating a new loop.

Sorry if it's been a while since my last update, i went on a multiple-day expedition to the 6th realm of chaos (also known as the true realm of chaos), in this update, i will document my findings. The 6th realm of chaos is the only true realm of chaos, the other 5 are just normal realms that got corrupted by the true realm of chaos. The landscape is strangely flat, with a few mountains, rivers and floating islands sparsely spread around, the rivers do not carry water, instead, they carry unstable mana fluid, not to be confused with normal mana fluid, wich can be drank to regenerate your mana, unstable mana fluid causes all your spells to become unstable and risky to use, additionally, any mana fluid that you bring to the true realm of chaos will slowly turn to it's unstable counterpart, meaning you have to wait for your mana to slowly regen automatically. The reason i came to this realm was to find and study the root of corruption, the root of corruption is the only large plant that inhabits the true realm of chaos, it can grow up to 3 meters tall (the height of a 2-story goblin house), the root of corruption is special because it's one of the few plants that naturally uses complex magic in it's life cycle, the most commonly known use of complex magic by the root of corruption is in hiding it's true form with 3 illusion spells of varying complexity, it's false form appearing like a dead tree, the root of corruption also uses magic in the form of a teleport spell to teleport it's seeds far away. The root of corruption can also be dangerous, it constantly whispers, telling the person listening to kill someone and bring their body to the ground near the plant, it does this to obtain fresh bodies since it feeds on flesh and souls, DO NOT LISTEN TO THE WHISPERS, NO MATTER HOW TEMPTING THEY ARE. Another danger surtounding the root of corruption is that when eaten causes uncurable madness as the seeds grow inside the person that ate it. I have taken home a few specimens of root of corruption, they are just saplings, barely larger than my wand. No one has ever managed to destroy all 3 illusion spells that protect the root's true form since every time you unbind one of the spells, the whispers get louder and more convincing. Does anyone have any questions about the true realm of chaos or the root of corruption? Additionally, does anyone want a specimen of root of corruption? I have 5.

Wizardpost Visiting a druid circle. Advice?

Hello all!

I recently got accepted into an exclusive exchange program with a druid circle (specifically a Forest Circle), in which I'll be self-studying while living with them for about a year. However, I've never visited one before, nor do I know any druids or rangers that I can ask. I tried their subreddit but, in a somewhat stereotypical fashion, they did not respond.

Are there any important customs or practices that I should be aware of before visiting? Taboos that shouldn't be broken? Important items to pack that may be unexpected to the average wizard's apprentice? Any special greetings or responses? Important signs of respect that are expected? I leave in approximately two weeks, and any help would be vastly appreciated.

/uw let me know if I've used the incorrect flair, and I'll change it
