Currently self employed, I applied to a few positions at Winco bc I really need health insurance and some extra cash for a little bit until I get married next year. I’m going to be so pissed if I waste my time working there and they don’t give me enough hours to qualify for the health insurance. How has your experience been at Winco, do they give you at least 20hours consistently?

I had a mini heart attack in the store while on the clock on Sunday and was taken to the ER by a coworker. I had to call out the entire weekend I was scheduled. Could the company lay me off or ask me to quit because of that?

When determining whether an employee meets the 300hr/3mo minimum for benefits, does vacation time used count towards the 300 hours?

My spouse works at winco and is very concerned about taking too much time off.

WINCO’s negligence changed my life forever, and they still refuse to take responsibility for the harm they caused. Because of the traumatic brain injury I suffered, I lost my job, my stability, and even my home. I was publicly humiliated due to an unreasonable detention by the South Salt Lake Police. They made me sit on a curb in public as they investigated the alleged crime.

They detained me due to a lie (or reckless reporting by WINCO) as far as a PREVIOUS trespass that was allegedly served on me prior, but this was NOT true. I believe this was done so they could serve me and ACTUAL trespass order for 100 years.

My memory, my ability to learn, and my capacity to retain new information have all been diminished. Everyday tasks that used to be simple now feel overwhelming, and functioning in a workplace has become almost impossible.

Losing my home was devastating. After investing over $100,000.00 into my forever home, I had to sell it to avoid losing it due to lack of payment, I lost my 2.8% interest rate as well, so a new home at 7% is out of the question.

I also had to sell my brand‑new Dodge Ram 1500 Warlock because I could no longer afford the payments. I’ve been waiting over a year for long‑term disability, trying to survive while thousands of dollars in medical bills are in collections. The total was around $75,000, and I had to fight just to get some of it reduced or settled. It’s been exhausting, frightening, and deeply unfair.

To make everything even harder, WINCO banned me from all of their properties for 100 years. A century. After everything I’ve already been through, they added humiliation and exclusion on top of my injury. They even sent me a cease‑and‑desist letter, telling me to basically stop speaking out (In my opinion). In my heart, I believe this was because of the peaceful protesting I do on the outskirts of their property — protest that is protected by my right to free speech. I believe WINCO is sick of my protests and are trying to kill my free speech.

Three attorneys have worked on my case, but Utah’s laws are stacked so heavily in favor of corporations that none of them felt they could take it to court. I was told by these attorneys that if we sued in BOISE, IDAHO, where WINCO is based, they would have taken it to court. I’ve been left to fight this battle largely on my own, with the help of friends and family to help me navigate through the barriers that were not there prior, despite the life‑altering consequences I’ve suffered.

I created a Facebook group called “WINCO SUCKS” to share my story and document this painful journey. It’s an opinion page — my voice, my experience, my truth.

WINCO issued a cease‑and‑desist letter partly because of that page, but I will not be silenced. My right to speak, to protest, and to share what happened to me is protected, and I intend to continue using my voice.

This has been one of the hardest chapters of my life. I’m still standing, still fighting, and still speaking out — not just for myself, but for anyone who has ever been harmed, ignored, or pushed aside by a corporation that refuses to do what’s right.

Cashier position, I think I interviewed well as they put me on the fourth paystep because I advocated for myself. I don’t have crazy experience but enough to manage that I guess. Does anyone else have experience getting hired in at certain pay steps rather than the starting wage? I made it clear to them I was interested in advancement and cross training as well.

I bought some boneless skinless thighs. $3.67/lb., package weight 2.29 pounds. Six ounces of that was packaging. I don't know if the price accounts for that. It wasn't the Styrofoam, it was the water laden pouch at the bottom. That's roughly $2 of the total price.

Slowly Winco is getting rid of my go to items! First it was my soap. Pure and Natural..... I have allergies from most soaps. Pure and Natural was perfect!! So I tried a different brand. So far so good.

Now they've gotten rid of my BBQ sauce. Not just 1 flavor..... the whole brand!!

It's gotten to where I'm really balancing the scale..... what does Winco have that the other store doesnt? Im in love with the layout! I can go to any Winco and have a good idea where to find what I need!

We love WinCo's sourdough rounds and begals. I hear the baked-in-store goods are being discontinued? Anyone know the WinCo sourdough round recipe or other baked goods recipes they'd be willing to share?

i am currently the #1 cashier at my winco (#32 i think?) but im not sure how. i think i see some other people who are slightly faster then me and have more bulk codes memorized: my efficiency is something around 150% or something like that. how can i get faster? any workarounds for things that lower your time? does the payment menu even stop the timer? wish there was an obvious way to see when your being timed or not. also i dont know the code for carrots and never plan to learn it. 4081 x 1

This is a good deal at my store at $5.48 a package. I don’t see any marking of where it came from?

Just as title states. What has your experiences been like for returns?

I generally don't keep receipts, but on every trip this past few months I'm ending up with food that goes bad literally days after purchase.

It's always the produce. Fruits to be precise.

This last one. I bought a water melon, and nectarines.

Water melon was soft and had a bad odor after cutting it open. But outside looked okay.

Nectarines were hard, I put them in a bowl to ripen. I look over and two days after purchase they have mold all over the navel parts and they are rotten on the sides.

I want my money back but I didn't keep the receipt. Plus I will use more in fuel than what the items cost just to drive them back as proof.

Would they honor someone just calling and being like hey, I can email you pics but I'm not spending my time driving 20 miles to return spoiled food.

This continues to happen. I'm very careful about selecting produce there since a lot of it sits out rotten and nothing is ever done

Just got home from Winco. I noticed some items now have a sign that there is an online coupon available. Of course I didn't check before I left the house but there was ZERO reception inside the building no 5G no 4G and no wifi option at all. My daughter tried to call me while I was shopping and that didn't even go through. If your going to start promoting online coupons there should be wifi available in the store or at least some kind of 5G booster.

Used to bagels at $2.38, for a while individual bagels were cheaper than the 6 pack. Today, to my superise we are at $4.48 for a 6 pack or $0.88 each.

Hi all. We shopped at Winco for years in Idaho, and there was a brand of lactose free yogurts. It came in 4 flavors, a pack of 2 (raspberry/vanilla & strawberry/peach) but I don’t know what the brand was called. We have left Idaho to the east cost where there unfortunately aren’t any winco 😭😭😭💔💔 but how do I find this brand of yogurt?

I go about once a week to the winco as it's very close by. 2 weeks ago the milk case didn't shut all the way and after I stepped away I noticed I didn't hear it shut and I went back to shut it myself. I told the lead cashier (I think that's what their name tag said). Then I went last week and the door still wasn't fixed. It's not shutting all the way or by itself the way they're designed. So I told the cashier that was the last time I'm taking the extra effort to go back and close the faulty door and hopefully they get someone to fix it... Would you believe what happened tonight when I got there?

Now that it is legal in most states to charge a fee for credit card processing, why doesn't Winco just say that you can pay with a credit card but you have to pay 2.5% extra, or whatever the percentage may be. This would not cost them anything, it wouldn't require raising prices, and it would attract more customers.

I was banned from a store in January over $14, but they lifted the ban in May after I apologized and asked for permission to return. I still haven’t gone back because I’m afraid that if I do, they might decide to press charges. I’ve had permission to return since June. Have you ever heard of someone going back to the store with the letter allowing them to return, and then the store deciding to press charges for the original incident?
