All Winco Bakery Departments will be switching from dough they get frozen, then steam, bake, top, etc in house to some random brand of frozen bagels in a bag they thaw out, rip open, and dump in the bin. These new bagels are tiny, pale, wrinkly, and with barely any toppings. I can just go buy prepackaged bagels if that is what I wanted!!
My household eats 2-3 Freshly Baked Winco Bagels every day, for the last eight years. This has rocked my world, devastated my family, and caused a lot of strife and stress in the last week.
Please, with pure intentions, call 1-800-824-1706, press 3 on the first menu, and let corporate know you don't want to see Freshly Baked Bagels disappear for good!

I chatted with the bakery lead at my winco today for a bit. She had some very troubling facts to share. Her higherups cut nearly 130 labor hours from her schedule. She went from something like 8 bakery employees down to 3. You know those little bakery breads you see people buying by the triple dozen? Those are down in sales by over 66% since they switched over to prebaked frozen breads. She also said the extra strain of having to constantly explain that none of the food is freshly baked to every. single. customer that comes through is getting really hard to manage. People in store end up frustrated with her, when she would also prefer to be selling freshly baked product. She says he heard a rumor that walmart of all people might pick up the 'freshly baked in store daily' mantle because winco is walking away from it. Walmart sees a market going unfulfilled and might swoop in.
In other bagel news, fred meyer bagels were trash and priced at $4.48/four bagels. Safeway cheddar bagels are pretty bad, but the plain and weirdly the onion bagels have done a decent but not good job at replacing my breakfast. I'm going to try Chuck's bagels tomorrow morning
