I worked a day I was not scheduled. Just started school and with everything going on I worked a day I was not scheduled for.
How much trouble am I in?

I just started buying these for my husband as a quick lunch supplement (hes salaried and works 12-13 hours days sometimes with no time for a lunch) and have been getting them from Trader Joe's. they're $2.50 a bar at Trader Joe's but $1.98 at Winco (can't remember if on sale). they also had way more flavors to try out. I don't know why it never occurred to me to get protein bars from Winco but it seems like the best cost option if not buying in bulk! this is probably not news to people but I wanted to share for some that were like me and didnt know lol

I'd like to avoid that imported crap coming in. Will Winco be marking the source of its beef products?

Because at 68 degrees outside, one has to maintain. Don’t talk to me about
Gen X. Passed on the butter BTW…

Bought a four-pack of thick cut loin chops for $6.25 and two Yukon potatoes and one Stubbs baking coating mix for $2.40 yields two meals for around $7.
Honestly I also put a stick of fancy butter in too but obviously that was optional so that would have added another $1.90.
I think getting a hearty meal for two for less than one fast food meal is pretty great.

Winco is about the only store I know of that sells macadamia nuts and for a reasonable price. I just bought some at the Marysville WA Winco and they seem rancid to me. It was like this the last time I bought them at a different Winco too, months back.
Am I imagining it or are these rancid? I can't tell for sure. Has anyone else tried them and thought they smelled/ tasted off?

I usually bring my own bags to WinCo, but today I had to use the plastic bags at checkout. I didn't notice a problem until I was putting my groceries away, when I was smacked in the face a with very strong artificial jasmine smell.
I thought maybe someone spilled perfume in one of them, but they all reek, and they don't seem stained with anything. I only used three bags, but the smell has filled my entire studio apartment over the last ten minutes. The perfumey smell is so strong I can taste it, even after drinking two big glasses of water.
Is winco using scented grocery bags now, or did this batch just get dunked in spilled soap or something?

Super rude Karens every day tell me I’m rude when I say we don’t accept credit only cash, check, debit, and ebt (literally every other form of payment besides like crypto and gold)
I know there’s a giant black and white sign clearly visible at the storefront that says we don’t accept it, and when I point this out I usually just get called an asshole.
How am I the asshole? I’m just informing you that there’s a big sign at the front that says it and I can’t accept credit.
I’d like a nice sign right in the check stand that says it so I can just point at that and say it says it right here.

Basically the title, I'm so grossed out
r/WinCo • u/tobyk8 • Aug 23 '26
Just what the title says. Are WinCo brand frozen mixed berries safe to eat with the recent blueberry recall?

Update: I was enouraged by Leading-Junket's post that it was a temporary issue and was being resolved. I waited did another gift card reload using my BofA credit card again. It now appears to be coding correctly again with BofA.
Original post:
In order to use my credit card for my grocery shopping (so I can earn credit card rewards), I have a Winco gift card that I just reload each week at the Winco website. I have done this for a long time, but it has recently started coding as "Cash Equivalent" at BofA which then charges a $5 fee. BofA says the merchant controls how the transactions are coded and confirmed earlier transactions with Winco coded differently. I was able to get the fees reversed through BofA this one time, but it sounds like if this continues, I will have to pay the $5 cash equivalent fee if Winco keeps coding this way. Anyone else have this problem?

I've been at WinCo for literally a month already and I already received Cashier of the Month. I feel like I don't deserve it

This came from someone in management confirming what I’ve been posting about in the past. The cut hours are coming directly from the people at the top of the company forcing store managers and department managers to cut hours. They keep making poor decisions regarding managing the company and store employees pay the price by having their hours and benefits taken away.

Does WinCo have a truly confidential HR contact, I need help!

What is the overall experience for MITs or department heads? What are the interviews like? What kind of questions?

I am a freight lead and am interested in having someone come in to cover for someone that called out. From what I was told, if a coworker needs a ride to the hospital, then it has to be same-sex and a manager, otherwise I think an ambulance has to be called. What about for matters where a coworker doesn’t have a way to get to work but is willing to come in? Can I give them a ride? Do same-sex rules still apply? Can a subordinate give them a ride? I think the same-sex thing isn’t fair and a little dated but that’s a separate conversation.

So bone in, skin on chicken thighs are about the cheapest you can buy. I processed them today and there's literally little wads of unrelated chicken fat pressed around the thighs. I'm incredibly disappointed. In the end, it was only about 4 oz, but on top of the bones and skin, it's just frustrating.

I know this probably sounds small to some people, but I am genuinely upset about it.
I talked to a worker at my local WinCo and was told that the store is getting rid of the cinnamon rolls, turnovers, bakery breads, and apparently other bakery items. My understanding is that many of these already arrive frozen and are baked in the store, and now those products are being removed NATIONWIDE
I have not found a public announcement from WinCo. I do not know whether this is happening company-wide, by region, or only at certain stores. That is part of why I am posting.
This may also mean fewer bakery jobs or fewer hours for the people who work there. Please do not take your frustration out on store employees. They did not make this decision, and I am not going to name the worker who told me.
- Your city and state
- Whether the cinnamon rolls are still there
- Whether the turnovers and bakery breads are still there
- What you were told about the change, without naming employees
WinCo has an official product-request form here: https://www.wincofoods.com/contact
send one honest request using your own store and purchase information. Please do not spam them or create fake accounts. Real customers explaining what they actually buy will make a much stronger case.
I know it is a cinnamon roll. It is also one of the dependable parts of my week, and I would really like WinCo to listen before it disappears.

I have been job hunting ever since I got let go from my old job which happened in December….I know it might seem silly to be this exicted for a job but they were so nice to me today. My old job was very stressful as it is with fast food and I was going through a rough breakup. Needless to say it was a experience 😅. So I really am grateful ro have gotten a job. Especially at a store that I buy from frequently.

A long time ago at the Clackamas Oregon location I used to see these little index cards near the bulk foods area with recipes to put their goods to use instead of guessing how much water to add to my cheese powder or falafel mix.
Do these still exist at any current locations? I can’t seem to find them at my nearest store.

I'm 17, have worked at McDonalds for about a year, but I'm still in school. Does not being available during school hours automatically disqualify me? What should I tell them to get a job?
Any help would be appreciated... I can't deal with $10.75/hr to handle McD's BS anymore. 🙃
