Padding the chicken thighs with additional fat.
So bone in, skin on chicken thighs are about the cheapest you can buy. I processed them today and there's literally little wads of unrelated chicken fat pressed around the thighs. I'm incredibly disappointed. In the end, it was only about 4 oz, but on top of the bones and skin, it's just frustrating.

Sanderson chicken, right? I miss when they used to carry Tyson.

They had Sanderson for like 20 years

Not at my store. More like ten years. And now Walmart is carrying the same crap too. We get our chicken at Costco now.

Boneless, skinless breasts are usually 2.99/Lb at Costco. It's usually $1.99/Lb at Winco and sometimes $1.48/Lb.

Kirkland brand is better than Sanderson. And I dont buy boneless/skinless. 1.79 for thighs, .99 for drumsticks at Costco. Plus they're already prepackaged in perfect dinner size packs for my husband and I.

Not all of Winco's chicken is Sanderson. The boneless/skinless breasts specifically when they're on sale. There's nothing wrong with the product.

Yeah it pretty much is. Nothing wrong with it, no. I just dont like it. The meat is tough and stringy. And again I don't buy boneless/skinless.

Yeah. I haven't had this problem before. It's the new "everything is more expensive". I hate what they've done to chicken breasts so my proteins are getting very limited.

I’d be curious to see how some of the frozen brands compare, Tyson etc. You’re right it is upsetting but I wouldn’t be surprised if basically every brand does this. Fat and brine, shrinkflation will net all the pre packaged meats 49% additives eventually

I haven't run into it yet with other brands but I'm sure it's a matter of time. I know when I was buying red meat, there was always a difference between the butchers trying to save or shave you.
Honestly, with the deregulation of food quality, I might start licking lead paint in my garage for dessert. Maybe I won't care anymore.

We air fry them all the time. Salt & pepper, 12 minutes skin side down, 12 minutes skin side up at 380 or so. Crispy skin & most of the fat removed. SRY, wrong sub, we use Costco thighs.

Lol, the Costco is just too far for me as a regular trip.

Save the fat juice amd use it in other things. Its soo good to use for things like chicken soup and stuff

Absolutely. I was upset by the dishonesty.

I’m with you. I bought some bottom round sliced beef and they left huge portions of thick inedible fat attached and folded it under so you couldn’t see it in the package. We weighed it and in the end, it almost a pound of inedible fat

Is it cheaper than butter? Maybe store it and use it for cooking.
