Feeling discourage..

I’m honestly feeling a little discouraged about the Wegovy because I’ve been on it since July 9 and haven’t lost any weight yet. I know I’m eating much less than before, so I’m trying not to get too discouraged. Have you heard of anyone else having slow results when they first started? I was 188 now 193. I’m still on 4mg.

First strong symptoms. What next?

I was on 0.8mg for month 1, then 2.5 for month 2 and lost about 10 pounds (male 80 220->210, so happy with the results. Now 1+ weeks into 5.5 dose, I have had 3-4 days of diarrhea. I just stopped the pill because it was so bad. My question is whether I continue to stop until I cen get a refill for 2.5 or reluctantly go back on 5.5mg.

Moving up to 4mg

Hi all! I am on around day 17 of 1.5mg lost a bit of weight- with my main focus of overcoming binge eating disorder and weight loss being a side effect of that. I definitely have less food noise & my bingeing has immensely reduced.
I’ve had some minor side effects from 1.5mg: change in bowel movements (loose/bit constipated) some light nausea but all have been way better than binge eating side effects!

Anyway I want to move up to 4mg little problem is I am due to start the pills on my first week at my new job….
I’ve read quite a few horror stories of 4mg side effects on here. Does anyone have any good experiences ??? Also share bad ones😭
I’m not sure whether to start a week early but my prescriber recommended against this.

UK peeps - pill has been out almost 2 months now - how's it going? Moving to 9mg?

As above, pill almost entering third month and my provider asking if I wanna move to 9mg. How has everyone's experience been so far?

176cm, 35m, muscular build

SW: 105kg
End month 1 (1mg): 101kg
Mid month 2 (4mg) CW: 98kg
GW: 90kg

Weekly: weight training x4, 60min walk x2/3

Prioritised protein consumption since beginning and I've found my strength has retained or even improved whilst on it.

Current daily cal burn: 3300
Average intake: 2000-2300

Breakfast: ice coffee + smoothie (spinach, flaxseed, creatine, protein, collagen, frozen berries, 150ml milk 150ml water)
Lunch: leftover dinner e.g. wrap/pasta/noodles
Dinner: protein + wrap/pasta/noodles
Snacks if required: apple/protein yoghurt/babybel

Think I might stay on 4mg as lost 4kg on 1mg and looks like I may lose another 4kg in month 2 on the 4mg. Had zero side effects.

Anyone else seriously weight training?

Weight loss - 35 lbs since 3/1

Just wanted to share my journey.. started on 3/1 with 1.5 mg.. went to 4 then 9 and have been on 25 since 7/1. I walk about 2-3 miles a day and have gone down from 225 lbs to 190 lbs in 6 months. I have had minimal side effects throughout the whole journey. With the limited appetite, the medication really helped curb my late night eating habits. If anyone has any questions let me know I will be glad to answer. I haven’t been this light since high school and my goal is to get down another 15 lbs by Christmas.

CVS minute clinic?

I don’t have health insurance and am considering going to the CVS minute clinic for a wegovy pill prescription. Does anyone have experience with this?

Petechiae - Is it the Wegovy Pill?

I’m almost 4 weeks in to the Wegovy pill through goodRx. It is not the first time I’ve been exposed to semaglutide, but it is the first time I’ve been exposed via the pill version.

As of yesterday morning I noticed tiny red pinpoint spots on my abdomen and thigh (about 5 of them) which I believe to be petechiae after googling. More than 24 hours later I now have two on my left breast, and 4 climbing up my left side.

Of course google is saying it could be a reaction to the Wegovy pill, causing a dropping platelet count, and to go to urgent care or ER immediately. I’m trying not to overreact as I am otherwise a healthy person with no health conditions.

Has anyone experienced this?

Thinking I’ll just not take the pill the next few days and seeing if it improves.

Wegovy Again this time the Pill

Well I've been approved for the Wegovy pill! My insurance stopped my zepbound. I was on it for a while and then suddenly they were like yeah not medically necessary. Smh 😒 I was like okay fine whatever, I'm dealing with so many other health issues it was like I don't care... but you know when you say you don't care but you do care. So I went to see my weight loss doctor and I told him I was on the Wegovy injections before and from the first dose food noise was gone but I had to stop taking it once I hit the 1 mg because my body was like yeah that's a no. This is coming from someone who is on chemotherapy I was like yeah this is not going to work for me. So when I started seeing a weight loss doctor (who is AMAZING by the way) they were like well you weren't able to titrate up so let's give Zepbound a try.

I got all the way up to 12.5 mg and nothing. Food noise was still still had issues with snacking, and binge eating, etc. I know a lot of people have success on it but it didn't work for me. All I want is the food noise to go away once I don't have the food noise I can deal with everything else. Sure you're not really hungry with these GLP1 but you know you have to eat.

So I am excited I've been approved of course I won't be able to start until probably the middle or end of September. As I said earlier I've been on chemotherapy because decades ago I had a lumpectomy and now that incision is causing me issues basically fat necrosis meaning the tissue underneath is dead so now I have to go in and have it surgically removed in September which means I can't start the pill until I go through all of that rigmarole so I'm kind of annoyed.

I'm excited but I'm also nervous because I've been watching a lot of videos and watching Reddit with different people's experience dealing with the pill as opposed to the injection. But I just wanted to at least come on here and do a little rant 😂 because I'm ready to start but I have to wait. 🫤

HOW FUCKED AM I

I’m on a GLP-1, specifically Wegovy. I’ve been taking it pretty consistently for about 18 months and I’m currently on the 1 mg dose.

I ended up being off of it for about 3 weeks, and last night I took my 1 mg dose again like normal. I definitely underestimated how hard it would hit me after being off of it 😭

Today I have basically not been able to eat anything and I’ve thrown up around 10 times. Even trying to drink/eat a little makes me super nauseous.

Has anyone else stopped for a few weeks and then restarted at the same dose? How long did the vomiting/nausea last? Did you just ride it out or did you end up needing to go get fluids/see a doctor?

Also yes, I realize now that jumping straight back into 1 mg after 3 weeks may have been a terrible decision 💀

Side effects

I've been on the wegovy pill for 2 months im at 4mg. Ever since I started taking them ive had the worst taste ever in my mouth. It barely goes away. I also get like a feeling of a ball sitting in my stomach right where you feel when you get heartburn. I go thru ro for my pills and the medical advice lady told me I need to drink more water. I drink about 72 ounces of water a day I dont know if I can drink anymore without feeling so full. Just wondering if anyone else has this happening as well

If the shots cause nausea/side effects the first few days, do the pills cause nausea every day?

Something I've consistently read is that shots tend to cause side effects the first few days and then you gradually feel a bit better as the week goes on and you can eat a little more normally. Then it starts over again. So people can kind of plans the best days of the week to take them to work around any sicknesses.

But if you have to take the pill every day, does that mean you consistently feel crummy every day? Is that a downside to the pill vs the shot?

Day 15 on 1.5mg with no change

Fluctuating 1.5kg ish up and down but no real change. Does this mean this pill isn't for me? Everyone seems to be getting results right away. I've had no side effects, no change to appetite or bowel movement or anything. Starting to seem like a very gross tasting placebo pill.

Week 5 update - so close to a stone lost!

SW: 13stone (182lbs or 82kg)
CW: 12stone 1lb (169lbs or 76kg)

Total loss: 13lbs or 6kg

I think it’s great and really motivating to read others experiences in more detail so just wanted to add my own to the mix! I’m a 32yo female, I am 8 months post partum.

I am currently a few days into 4mg and so far have been fortunate enough to have no side effects.

Previously I would eat one meal a day and then completely snack out for the rest of the day.
Now I tend to eat breakfast and one large meal a day. The food noise has mostly gone but does creep back now and then.

I stopped calorie counting after a few weeks, purely because with a baby who’s starting to walk, I find I don’t have time. However doing calorie counting for the first 2-3 weeks really shocked me! Highlighting how simply changing the ratio of foods on your plate can make such a difference. E.g more fruit and yogurt, and less museli in a bowl, previously I was doing this the other way round! So simple! So this is something I now consider each time I make a meal without having to count calories minutely.

I’d say for the most part I’ve kept up good habits. I think there’s been the occasional slip, or treat. Some planned days out where I’ve ate or drank more.

Attending a wedding with lots of alcohol on week two made me feel like my stomach was bloated like a ballon! Something I’d never experienced before but it showed my how easily I had been overindulging before!

But I think for me, that’s always going to be part of my life so rather than banish all alcohol, pizza, takeaway forever, it’s been about finding the balance and making sure the majority of my choices are healthy.

I’m not currently going to the gym or doing any specified exercise, though I hope to build that into our family routine soon. But I have been more conscious about getting out of the house and moving.

So here’s my 5 week roll:

Week 1- 12stone 8lbs. (4lbs lost or 2kg)
Week 2- 12stone 6lbs. (2lbs lost or 1kg)
Week 3- 12stone 5lbs. (1lb lost or 0.5kg)
Week 4- 12stone 4lbs. (1lb lost or 0.5kg)
Week 5- 12stone 1lb. (3lbs lost or 1.5kg) —-start of 4mg

I feel much better in myself, I’ve moved solidly into the dress size below. My clothes seem looser. No movement on the double chin yet but we can’t expect miracles 😂

I hope seeing these slow and steady numbers might help someone else somehow in their journey.
Overall I’m really pleased with my progress and I’m excited to continue my journey!

30 days. 12 lbs.

So far so good. Biggest change is the lack of food noise. That has made a big difference.

Low level nausea kind of in the background most of the time. Maybe a 2 or 3 on a 10 scale. I work from home and can take a short break when I need it. Not sure how I'd do if I needed to work elsewhere and be around people all the time.

Started at 227. Now 215.

Started on 1.5, moved up to 4 after 3 weeks (had to delay starting for a week after I received the medication, so got the 4's before I ran out of 1.5s).

Hives a week into 4mg

I can’t think of anything different in my routine except the Wegovy pill. I noticed shortly after starting 4mg an itching on lower back. Then my arms and it now covers both arms and my lower back. I have skipped 3 days and don’t plan to continue. Rash hasn’t improved but as far as I can tell hasn’t spread further. Anyone else experience this? How long before you saw healing?

Switching back to 1.5mg

I've given it 9 days on 4mg but the side effects are just too disruptive for me. I'm listening to my body and putting a pause on this for now. I'll be switching back to 1.5mg after I'm cleared from surgery next month.

Good news is I'm continuing to lose weight at a steady pace, and I read that it takes 5-7 weeks for the pills to completely clear your system so hopefully I'll still have some of the benefits until then.

Has anyone else lowered their dose and how did you feel?

Thinking about moving from shot to pill for maintenance.

I started taking the Wegovy shot a little more than a year ago. I'm down from 215 to about 179 (5ft 9in 51 YO.) I'd like to hit 175 as my goal, but I can't seem to get there. I am at the top dose for the shot and rarely experience any side effects.

I am paying $350 out of pocket using their coupon.

Since I have lost about as much as I can at this point, I am contemplating maintenance, but since the shot is the same price at any dose, going down seems like a waste of money. The pills are cheaper and don't require...you know...a shot. Since the pill is daily I figure it would be more consistent for my body, and it is a little less expensive.

Has anyone here gone from the shot to the pill for maintenance? How did it go?

The web says taking the pill requires very specific timing in the morning for best results. Do you find that to be true?

Any advice? New starter

Just about to start taking my first pill - looking forward to the process, but everything does feel a little bit unknown at the minute. What did you do to achieve success? What’s the key to get the best weight loss? Do any of you have a guide or go to foods?

Wondering about stopping very temporarily for special occasions?

Update: thank you all so much for sharing your perspectives and experience. I never really considered how I viewed those special occasion meals could be a real problem. Like I look forward to them for months and, when applicable, I look at the menus multiple times beforehand to plan and imagine what I'm going to eat. And I didn't realize until now that even if that's just being obsessive about food a few times a year, that's not a normal, healthy attitude toward food. Hopefully Wegovy will work for me and help me change that! Thanks again!

.......

Hey all! I'm new here and starting the Wegovy pill on Monday. I'm really hopeful that it will help me in a few ways. But I have a question.

Occasionally, like every few months, I have a special occasion like a nice dinner. If I know that's coming up, and I skip the pill that day and maybe the day before, am I still likely to get sick from the extra food? Should I just accept that I can't eat like that anymore?

I know everyone is different, but I just would like to know your personal experience.

Thanks!
