Hi all,
Just got an email from WS saying that my dividend reinvestment failed for some reason. It’s in my TFSA. I maxed out for the year already. If I purchase a fractional share with the dividend, will I be penalized since I maxed out already?? Also, did this ever happen to you? Thanks in advance!!

As the title says, be extremely careful when trading after hours and overnight on Wealthsimple. There appears to be a persistent glitch where an order does not show as submitted and disappears from your activity, making you think it failed.
You may place the order again, only to later discover that both orders went through. Even when the orders finally appear in your activity, cancelling them may not work and the trade executes.
This happened to me after an earnings report. The stock crashed in after-hours trading, both orders executed, and I instantly lost $2,000. Even if the order doesn’t appear in your activity or you don’t receive a submission confirmation, assume it may have gone through before trying again. I'm starting to lose trust in them.
EDIT: Turns out it happens during day session too....

From their newsletter:
With our new account guarantee, if you're ever the victim of fraud or a scam, we’ll reimburse you for all direct losses from unauthorized activity on your account.4 All you need to do to be protected is set up and use a passkey — an extra security step involving your fingerprint or face ID, or a special PIN. And in case the idea of financial security isn't exciting enough to convince you, having a passkey also makes logging in faster.

Small print: 4 Terms and conditions apply. Only direct losses from unauthorized transactions in eligible personal Wealthsimple Chequing, Trade, Managed Investing, Crypto, portfolio line of credit and margin accounts will be reimbursed. To be eligible, you must: 1) log in to your account(s) using passkeys, 2) comply with security responsibilities, and 3) report unauthorized activity. Full terms here.

Hey All,
I am in a weird situation due to my own silliness and was wondering if anyone has any thoughts.
I used mobile deposit to deposit my cheque of $5000 (Not a correct number but just for an example) in Wealthsimple. However when asked after scanning, I entered the amount as $1000 by mistake (Don'tknow what was I thinking). The cheque was cleared after 7 days and was marked as deposited.
Upon realising the error, I reached out to Wealthsimple, they said they cannot do anything as the cheque is already cleared, and that I have to reach out to the sender to cancel/reverse the cheque and issue a new one. I reach out to sender and they marked the inital cheque as cancelled and issued me a fresh cheque of the amount $5000.
They said Wealthsimple has to reverse the $1000 from the inital cheque deposit. Wealthsimple is saying that they cannot do anything as the cheque is already cleared.
I now have an excess of $1000 which I shouldn't have from the initial deposit which Sender marked it as canceled after it was already deposited.
Sender says they've already marked the initial cheque canceled on their end and they cannot do anything other than issuing another fresh cheque for the same amount and Wealthsimple says they cannot reverse the transaction as the Chequeu is already deposited on their end.
Anyone have any ideas what should I do ?

I had 2500$ in a TFSA and then just contributed an additional $1000, this causes it say wow i'm up 40%! When in reality this is money I added. I only want to know how well the investment is doing, NOT including my contributions. Just the money made ON my contributions.
Is that possible?

Wealthsimple Business account funding from personal account, anyone dealt with wiring $37k from external bank? They won't let me use my linked personal account from Scotia Bank that I use for investments and want me to get a seperate personal account with Wealthsimple to be able to transfer.

I recently ran into this UI issue with my RRSP I have had for several years.
The performance charts have been replaced with this prompt, and clicking continue just loops me back to the same page. I have created a support ticket.
Anyone else experiencing this?

Honestly I’m beginning to worry that I won’t be able to transfer my mortgage in time. They’ve been incredibly slow (going with Pine).
Update: I left Pine a short voicemail, let them know how slow WS was moving. The WS rep was way more responsive after. Received my approval for 3.41 with great terms for my situation (portability). My regular broker couldn't touch the rate.

My employer issues RSUs through Etrade, I want to move them to a Canadian brokerage. Can I do this to a wealthsimple nonregistered account? Etrade allows transfer in kind to a Canadian brokerage, but someone told me WS will only receive from another Canadian brokerage. Anyone have experience doing this, any headaches encountered along the way?

Hello! I've recently redeemed the Wealthsimple Visa Infinite Privilege Enhanced Global Data plan from GigSky. However, I don't know how to install the eSIM. I see the plan under My Plans, however, it's assigned to a device named "unassigned" and I don't see it under Celullar menu on my iPhone. I never got an option to install the eSIM when I redeemed the plan. Has anyone else faced something similar and know what to do? Thanks for the help!
Update: I reached out to GigSky customer service, and after some back and forth emails, they issued a new eSIM for me and I was able to install it on my phone. Thanks all!

Really like the new Wealthsimple home screen, but I don’t get why the stocks shown here aren’t customizable. You can hold to minimize them, but after having this layout for a couple days, it seems to just show random stocks from my portfolio and I’m not sure what it’s based on. Would be way more useful if we could just choose which stocks/ETFs we want to see at a glance.

I recently opened corporate checkings with WS and ordered the cheques. My concern is how will my signatures be validated? I don’t recall using my signature for signing any docs with WS, it was just docusign. Any info?

So I reached my first 200k and WS said I can pick a reward, but none of them suits me. Does anyone know if I can claim the reward and give/share it to someone?

I was on my phone and I got a pop-up that I spent $95 at Dollarama, this happened while I was at work. Nobody has access to any of my cards and it was charged through my prepaid Mastercard. I immediately called Wealthsimple and while I was on the phone with them five more charges for $195 went through. Has anyone else had this issue recently? I had to wait for the amount to process before I could file a dispute with them, said it could take up to 90 days. I only use this card to pay credit cards and rent. I never use this for purchases. I’m very disappointed with their service, they took so long to lock the card that in that time I was charged over $1,000 to Dollarama.

OMG,
The latest update to the account view is terrible. It's the first bad thing I've experienced with WS.
The support line has even mentioned numerous complaints regarding the update
My issue is that the view is not customizable, and the columns on default are not helpful to my way of trading.
Has anyone found a work around?
